Would love to see the "Chronicles of the Black Company" by Glen Cook turned into several movies.

I'd like to see "The Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher made into a series of movies or even just TV Movies. I tried to watch the TV series but it sucked! They changed too much from the books!
I was just thinking this and if it does by some miracle happen Im gonna tryout for the part of Bob.

All the rest of Dan Brown's books. Seriously, that guy has talent.
Probably one of the worst authors I have ever had the displeasure of reading.
It seems like the guy has a mad lib that he just fills in to create a new novel.

Surprise! the movies are also terrible.

Nothing I read would translate all to well to film. However, I would like to see a few short stories of Flannery O'Connor's on screen, even though previous attempts had less then stellar results.

I wouldn't say it needs to be made into a movie, but I think The Sword of Truth series would make a great TV series.

WE DONT SPEAK OF THAT!

In all seriousness though the only reason it sucks so much is because Disney and Sam Raimi got a hold of it....HOW he could screw it up is beyond me, he already had a script and descriptions of scenery and freaking character personalities!
OH and if HBO got it instead of Disney then we would at least have some sort of gore to make up for the lack of Sam's intelligence....

That is of course if this mythical series existed... :'(

Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns would make a decent animated movie.
in the 90's there was talk about a live action movie. Clint Eastwood would have been brilliant back then.

None of them.
Just about every movie adaption disappoints people and reading a book is so much better.
I don't know if it's better, it's just different. Aslong as the adaptation keeps the core focus of the book in mind it should be OK. If it hadn't been for Jurassic Park the movie, I would've never gone out and check the book, wich was pretty awsome.

Though I was disappointed that Rincewind seemed older than he was portrayed in the books in his movie adaptation, I still want to see a Discworld movie with Sam Vimes in it. I think if they manage to mess up a story with him in it it is truly hopeless but since I liked "The Color of Magic" and "Hogfather" movies I think they have a good chance of getting it right.

They also need to do more in that children's book series, and find a way to get the last two into the US without obnoxious collectors/foreign import costs.

I was thinking the game of thrones by GRR Martin would be a really good indie film.
HELL YES!!!!!!! Unfortunately, Hollywood probably could fuck that one up so bad, i would never want to think of the books again, which would be a shame. Also, i have the feeling they'd have to cut about half of it to prevent the NC-17 rating lol

Lost Souls or Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Brite

SO MUCH IMAGERY. It'd be pretty much impossible to get wrong since most of her books are specifically set in New Orleans/Missing Mile

Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, and all of Christopher Moores novels. Oh, and more Neil Gaiman! And the tales of H.P. Lovecraft. And Tales of the Otori. but you gotta make sure they are actually GOOD! no stripping out the story and changing the characters to add some stupid unnecessary romance (I'm looking at you, Starship Troopers!)

I would very much like the Demonata Series by Darren Shan to be made into a movie if it was done right. But I love the book series and would hope its not ruined.
