it probably was a bunch of other shit culminating in the homicide.
I hope so too, including the kid being fucked in the head, but considering how some people act in online gaming (I know its a gigantic leap between online gaming and real life) I'm not that surprised that there are gamers this fucked up.

Regardless, its gonna be cited as fuel against all gamers.

Woh that kid is fucked up in the head. I wonder though if the console was the soul factor in this situation, I mean there must have been other things that could've happened to him to make him act that way.

Because the only country that seems to hold people responsible for their actions is the U.S. Seriously, I've seen murder sentences in Europe that were shorter than this.

Also, I'm a bit... well, in lack of another word, "disgusted" by the people who claim this boy should get the death penalty. God forbid we try to help him get on the right path, noooo, let's just kill the guy.

Stop being a bleeding heart, he killed what could have been a productive member of society. That means he will NEVER be a productive member of society. Employers aren't going to take the chance he may kill again, and this time kill a few coworkers. So now he either goes and commits more crimes to survive or gets caught and goes back to prison. The problem is that this is a minor, so you can't actually give him the death penalty in most countries.

So because society is faulty and doesn't believe in second chances, he should die?

Oh yeah, that makes perfect sense.

damn that kid is fuck in the head. i say that is the equivalent to shooting someone in the back of the head because he did want to out of your favorite chair.but i agree with Plurralbles here there probably is more to it than that, my guess is the older brother finished all the Twinkies or stole his highschool sweetheart. who knows

That's messed up. There is a difference between getting into a dispute with your sibling and well, killing them. The kid needs help if he is ever going to be a member of society.

Really? Who kills their own brother over a device, in fact who kills their own brother regardless. Hes your brother for god's sake. they should be nice together not fighting each other over meaningless things. Now one of them is dead. I hope that kid regrets what he did for the rest of his life.

Sorry, its just things like this really REALLY piss me off.
Im sorry but Brothers are supposed to fight over meaningless things, its part of being Brothers!

But grabbing a knife over meaningless things is a bit much
I know my brother and I fight all the time. Sometimes we hit eachother and stuff like that. I know it is just a part of being brothers. Still, I never have know any fights I have had that have built to really doing damage (using knifes and other weapons). I think you should be able to calm down before anything like that happens. I just don't see how it could escilate into something like stabbing someone. Especially if it is their brother.
Easy!
The kid was convinced that his brother would respawn anyway.
No big deal
yeah just to spawn kill him again. double the fun

The kid's certainly fucked up, but I'm always happy to see things like this. Witnessing the violence inherent in humanity makes me happy. Go, little man, go!

I am most appalled by the strange reactions to this MSN story from the general public (meaning, more exactly, the commentary.)

Here's one from a woman writing in a perplexing cockney accent:

"kids today are glued to computer games and ave addictions to these consoles i refuse to let my boy play these as i believe it stop his imagination, a friends little boy i no whos just gone 4 plays these consoles and throws right strops if his mum says no where as my boy whos the same age is upstairs playing wiv his cars and dinosaurs and aving a right good old time. these console games can lead a child to think its ok to be violent no wonder the lad put a knife in his brother and killed him now hes got live wiv that fact 4 the rest of his life. parents are also to blame in most cases as they cant be bothered wiv there kids or want some quiet that the consoles are a good enuf baby sitter 4 them its wrong"
- liliana2009

And here's another post by a fellow that, upon realizing that you can't yell on the internet, decided to type entirely in boldface:

"When I see the kids, and not only kids glued to the computer screen in the cafes, I want to puke!

Nightmare, a complete gloom scenario.

One of the worst addictions of our time.
"
- Bull....

Sounds like there was pre-existing malice between them. I mean, what if this was a wife who stabbed a violent, abusive husband? All those "20 years", "death penalty" and "that kid is fucked up" comments would shut up then. Or at least tone themselves down.

We have next to no information about the circumstances, so we cannot pass judgement on either party.
