For violent crimes, they sometimes aren't tough enough. For non-violent crimes we are way too draconian. I'm tired of seeing a guy get 5 years for having a damn twenty sack because of a mandatory minimum. Judges have little to no discretion in sentencing now in the U.S. and it's ridiculous.Hardcore_gamer said:While I agree that allot of sentences criminals in Europe get are sometimes far too light, I think its the other way around in the US. No offense, but allot of your sentences are just plain bullshit as well and are WAY to harsh to be even remotely fair.asinann said:Because the only country that seems to hold people responsible for their actions is the U.S. Seriously, I've seen murder sentences in Europe that were shorter than this.Jiraiya72 said:Five years? What a fucking joke. How about 20?jelock said:The teenager could face five years in prison.

Totally agree with you there. He should get the book thrown at him. Multiple times.Jiraiya72 said:Five years? What a fucking joke. How about 20?jelock said:The teenager could face five years in prison.
Fuck... I hope the little prick gets ten years at least.jelock said:Seriously, what is the world coming too. Guy kills his brother simply for turing on / playing his PS3. Its tragic, but at least they didnt blame it on the fact he plays games.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with killing his brother in a fight over a PlayStation, Chilean Police said.
Police said the younger boy was angered when his 18-year-old brother turned on the game console without his permission. He then grabbed a knife and stabbed him. Police said the youth told them that "things got out of control".
The teenager could face five years in prison.
Homicide investigator Gilberto Opazo said the brothers had been abandoned by their mother and spent 10 years as wards of the state before a Belgian woman named Valerie Michael took them in. She was visiting Belgium when the killing happened.
