Really? Who kills their own brother over a device, in fact who kills their own brother regardless. Hes your brother for god's sake. they should be nice together not fighting each other over meaningless things. Now one of them is dead. I hope that kid regrets what he did for the rest of his life.

Sorry, its just things like this really REALLY piss me off.
you have obviously never had a brother.
ot: that is taking it alot too far

I can see someone being upset about this, but actually killing someone over it, man that is harsh.

I am most appalled by the strange reactions to this MSN story from the general public (meaning, more exactly, the commentary.)

Here's one from a woman writing in a perplexing cockney accent:

"kids today are glued to computer games and ave addictions to these consoles i refuse to let my boy play these as i believe it stop his imagination, a friends little boy i no whos just gone 4 plays these consoles and throws right strops if his mum says no where as my boy whos the same age is upstairs playing wiv his cars and dinosaurs and aving a right good old time. these console games can lead a child to think its ok to be violent no wonder the lad put a knife in his brother and killed him now hes got live wiv that fact 4 the rest of his life. parents are also to blame in most cases as they cant be bothered wiv there kids or want some quiet that the consoles are a good enuf baby sitter 4 them its wrong"

And here's another post by a fellow that, upon realizing that you can't yell on the internet, decided to type entirely in boldface:

"When I see the kids, and not only kids glued to the computer screen in the cafes, I want to puke!

Nightmare, a complete gloom scenario.

One of the worst addictions of our time.
"
- Bull....
...you don't need to babysit an eighteen year old, ma'am.

As for you, Mr. Bold, I strongly believe heroin to be an addiction ten times as dangerous as video games. I've never been mugged for console money.

Slightly off topic, but nothing can express how backwards the people writing comments for that article are, not even a really big facepalm.

The article writer made a good attempt to bring the blame away from the console (well it is microsoft), but they still all jumped on their bullshit wagons and started ranting about how gaming is the devil and every kid these days thinks it's ok to murder everyone because "gaem said so".

it probably was a bunch of other shit culminating in the homicide.
This right here.

The only reason why an incident of violence in a third world country is getting this kind of attention is because a video game system was somehow involved, or present.

I hate when people blame the video games, I mean I have played video games most of my life and guess what, I haven't killed anyone. Me and my brother we dont get along all the time but when we get along the most is usually when we are playing a co-op story or killin' zombies. Its usually the parents fault that neglect there children or let them get away with whatever they want. My parents taught me respect and many other lessons this kid's mother obviously didn't. He probably would of stabbed his brother if he ate his cookies without asking it's only because it was over game system that people are bashing technology.

I can safely say that the people commenting on that story are quite ignorant.

But I say let the kid go to jail.

Wow, if he stabbed hsi brother over touching his game console, imagine what he would have done if his older bro had turned his girlfriend on.

Police said the younger boy was angered when his 18-year-old brother turned on the game console without his permission. He then grabbed a knife and stabbed him. Police said the youth told them that "things got out of control".

The teenager could face five years in prison.
COULD?! This kid is a diehard gamer with no sense of moral high ground! He needs to be put in jail, before his 360 red-rings!

I think there was more going on than just the PS3. That was probably the icing on the cake though.

This is just..wow. I mean...really? He killed his brother for turning on his PS3? That would be akin to me killing my uncle for touching my camcorder. That boy clearly has underlying psychological issues. If he didn't show any signs of clear remorse....ugh

The kid is still a minor which is probably why the sentence was light, which is a refreshing change of pace from the US that constantly tries to charge kids as young a 8 as adults.
