(This is unedited because I'm not too sure on your mental image of everything and if my character would be a stain on it, lol)

Name: Cui Yifie

Age: 36

Gender: Female

Role on the Juliet: Drone Specialist

Bio: Cui Yifie is a Chinese national. She was an engineer working for the Chinese People's Liberation Army in their prototype cybernetics and mechanized warfare decision. She got all of her education out of schooling through the PLA and was with them from 18 years of age to 31 where she was transferred to be a part of the international space efforts. She also volunteered and was chosen for prosthetic and implant testing as it was a minor obsession of hers to further cybernetics. Cui spent most of her time working with the research and development teams concerning drone, rover and classified tech rumored to have something to do with mechanized infantry.
Cui has been on 2 previous missions, the first her role was to probe various cavern systems found on Saturn's Titan, the second was field testing hardware on Mars.

Cui's physical body is her head with her jaw and teeth removed, torso and waist with the pelvis removed. She has been augmented with prosthetic arms and legs, her body and bone structure has been marginally reinforced and altered to fit function rather than form. Her arms and legs are obviously mechanical, with no effort made to hide it or to make them appear even human.
Cui has a prototype PLA cyber brain that has been modified as to be allowed to follow her into a civil service. She is able to connect to her work station and download basic files into her own implanted hard drive. Cui's lower face has devices and fittings for consuming food and vocalizing, however her entire head is usually covered with a light alloy, no glass head case completely concealing her entire head. It allows her to work constantly in safety gear and also to constantly have access to her computer as she is her computer and her headcase has a HUD which is basically just a screen in her helmet she can read from that also lists various needs, it does not recieve any data concerning the environment or some such.

In short, besides improving work efficiency and safety, her body doesn't improve her reflexes, physical strength or mental capabilities in any way. It's all for utility. She also breathes normally but through some filtering which wouldn't help her with airborne toxins or a vacuum.

Cui Yifie was chosen for the S.S Juliet mission due to it's potential length and complications as her expertise in drones and mechanical skills are sought after, her psych evaluations also label her as a safe bet not to cause drama or get cabin fever.

Personality: Despite spending so long in the military, Cui has little to no interest in actual warfare or politics, preferring to immerse herself in her work. Cui is polite and punctual, she enjoys the company of others but usually forgoes it until her workmates are used to her appearance, which can take a while. While rather curious and empathetic, Cui dislikes being pestered and doesn't like talking to people while deep in thought. She is also prone to getting a little moody.

While the Yifie family cared little for first contact, Cui began to believe that this other species could give incredible opportunities for humanity to improve and gain knowledge. As she grew older she began to believe that it could even be the key to her trans-human ideals, which have severely influenced her life, mind and body.

Religious Belief(if any): Has a strong belief in trans-humanism being the next evolutionary stage of humanity, beyond that is agnostic with hints of Buddhist beliefs.

Name: Doctor Lawrence Elliot Emerson, prefers to go by Doctor Emerson or Elliot

Age: 41

Gender: male

Role on the Juliet: Doctor

Appearance: Thin but fit, he is clean shaven with a head of black hair (which is starting to thin out somewhat, due either to stress or age). He has brown eyes and rarely seems to smile, though some have noted that he seems to smile with his eyes more often than not.

Bio: Emerson has always looked back on the stories of first contact day as a defining moment in expressing the essential goodness of humanity, regardless of the source or intent of the message humanity took it as a rallying cry and set their differences aside to join together. If nothing else he would like to thank the aliens (or whatever they actually are) for their contribution to bringing out that goodness. This view comes mostly from his personal philosophy, which itself is largely informed by his religion.

In spite of what this might lead you to think Emerson did not get into his field for what he now considers to be 'the right reasons' instead he originally became a doctor and surgeon largely for the money and to appease his ego. This ego left him unable to deal with his first failure, the first patient he lost, and after trying a number of methods to cope: honing his skills, distancing himself from others, drinking, and eventually turning to religion. That last one stuck with him, and changed him for the better in his opinion. The pastor of the first church he belonged to considered First Contact to have been a message from God, and while Emerson wasn't certain he agreed that that was the case this started a defining interest in that event and in space.

In the years since then he has further honed his skills, working as the doctor and surgeon, and eventually as an astronaut and medical officer on various trips into space. When he first heard of the Juliet and it's venture to the anomaly he immediately volunteered, a chance to go further than ever, to get closer to wherever that signal had come from, was something he could not pass up. Besides his skills might be needed, though he always hoped that wasn't the case.

Personality: Gruff but friendly, Emerson tends to come across as a very serious individual who rarely smiles. That said he has a rather strong humorous streak extending to the occasional practical joke (though he knows better than to attempt much of the sort in space). He likes to mess with people especially with their perceptions of him, and as such enjoys telling stories from his medical career, especially those with stark tonal shifts.

In spite of this he is very loyal to others and dedicated to his job as a doctor, he is a dedicated pacifist (though not a vegetarian) and more than willing to sacrifice himself to save others. While he enjoys joking about almost every topic he is very respectful of other's beliefs and experiences, and strives to remember every patient he has had especially those he lost.

Religious Belief: Christian, though he tends to be rather private about it

Sorry it took so long to get together, but here it is. Let me know if there are any problems with it.

Guess I'll get to work on a Security Personnel, or is there another open spot that i'm missing?
I don't have any problems with some competition for the position of Doctor, so feel free to keep the sheet if you want. Its completely up to the GM which sheets get in after all, I don't have any particular claim to the role of doctor.

Space problems? Space food fixes everything:

An abbreviation for "Meals for Space", MFS's are American made meals for astronauts in space containing supplements and vitamins to deal with the effects of prolonged space travel. Unlike previous space food, MFS's better replicate actual food they represent as opposed to the bricks of food that were called meals. Unlike real food though, MFS's are stocked with the right sustenance needed for astronauts. One of the side-effects though is the disparity between the taste of an MFS than the taste of the food it looks like. An MFS steak might look like a steak but the taste completely off. Due to the meals being rich in vitamins and minerals, other ingredients are omitted as to provide maximum amount of benefit for the astronaut. Proteins and carbohydrates are still there but not naturally.

MFS's work hand-in-hand with N-shots to when it comes with helping the body accommodate to the effects of long-time space travel.

Sorry for the long delay about your questions. There have been advances in the medical field especially to when it comes to preserving the lives of Earth's astronauts. To address the issues previously mentioned, countries have been working around to clock to help combat the health side-effects of long term stay in space. From better body conditioning to supplying supplements in the food itself(read MFS's), most problems have been solved but there are conditions that pop up from time to time.

Astronauts still have to move or work out constantly in their microgravity atmosphere, and importantly diseases still have to be treated almost immediately as to make sure that space doesn't mutate it and potentially evolve it to a more dangerous strain. Luckily, anti-biotics and medicine have advanced to counter such a threat. Specifically nano machines(insert MGS4 joke here) technology has sprouted to help combat such disease.

And your sheet is interesting considering his religious view. I'll make a decision soon.

To combat the dangerous diseases brought about by long trips in space, European scientists have finally invented and implemented the first nano machines to be used in the field of medicine, specifically for the astronauts as well. Distributed in small shots to a major vein in the blood, these nano machines strictly repair the bones and nervous systems of astronauts that control the vertebrae of the spine that slowly drifts away due to the lack of gravity in space. In a way, the nano machines compensate by sort of acting like a flexible glue that holds the vertebrae in place. So far there hasn't been any adverse side-effects save for a stiff back when awakening from sleep.

The little robots themselves do not self-replicate but have enough energy for one complete week and a shot is given to replace the nano machines that die. The new nano machines dispose of the dead nano machines by helping the body break down the materials before taking its place. This phase of the process is called the "settling in".

Even the body's reaction to having nano machines are controlled due to the MFS that the astronauts eat that control its reaction through the diet and nature of MFS supplements. MFS's and N-shots work together with MFS being needed to control the body's reaction and the N-shots making sure the body doesn't deteriorate from long term space travel.

N-shots are distributed weekly among the crew by use of a shot.

That's actually a really cool sheet, I'll give you that. Not only that but you hit the nail on the head considering the stance of trans-humanism at the moment. It is all rather form than function at the moment and its progression still hasn't reached the state of going past human abilities in some areas. You're definitely in for this one.

Name: David Magnusson

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Role on the Juliet: Doctor

Bio: David was always acrophobic person, he had been since a young age ever since a camping accident as a child, involving an elk in heat trying to trample him to death or skewer him. Since then, he's never dealt with large areas well, especially areas without a place to hide. His family had been one that was obsessed about "the infinite void of space" (the worse choice of words ever) ever since his grandfather, already having been an astronomer, heard the First Contact so this caused a bit of friction between them and him as they tried to help him get over a problem he felt justified in having and unconcerned in fixing, especially when he got older. He instead chose to take the path of being a medical practitioner which, while disheartening to his parents, was still accepted as a point of pride for them.

Yet, even with this achievement under his belt, they insisted that he fix his "problem" over something that, while they agreed was tramatic, was what they considered a rare incident that he should have been done with when he graduated school. Eventually, they got through to him and he took an interest in space and dealing with the problem...that was their problem, letting themselves believe that he was having a sudden realization instead of just going along with it to shut them up. In reality, he never even wanted to think about space, the widest and most open space in existance so he fabricated a lie, feigning interest in astronomy and even deciding to do somethinh drastic, taking a ride into space so that once he got back (he never thought that he wouldn't, not wanting to entertain the idea and chicken out) they would finally shut up and leave him alone. Besides, he'd be in a spaceship, an enclosed area, albeit one hurtling through the void of space, don't think about it, david, that thought train won't end well.

Steeling himself with meditation and several techniques that he had had shoved onto him by family and friends, he got into a program and trained for the next several years to be an astronaut, not to hard since the need for and use of doctors is always there in any place. Eventually, he was recommended to this mission and after intensely debating with himself, he joined in the hopes that the captain would be skilled enough to get there and get them out and he could always just hole up in the medical bay or what ever they call it. Heck, he shouldn't even need to leave the ship and risk encountering this "Broken Sun". Besides, it was just a simple go in, investigate, get out type of mission as he saw it, nothing should go too badly...right?

Personality: Generally speaking, David comes off as a rather nice, well-meaning guy, always trying to stay ethical and protective whenever he can. He can be quite sarcastic and cynical when someone gives him the opportunity, but this is just a copping mechanic for dealing with his still rather strong fear of space (or more of space as the ultimate wide open...space. Basically, he's acrophobic). He's known for poor decision making when not dealing with anything medical and shown to be slightly out of his depth when it comes to fully understanding the horrors of space, already focusing on the things he already finds horrible. He believes that a problem should be solved at the earliest convenience and in the most straight forward way possible, even if it isn't the most rational way, hence his going to space instead of continuing to argue that he doesn't have a problem. He also hates Psychology, especially people who try to diagnose him as ill or having a problem for what he feels is a rational and normal feeling.

Religious Belief(if any): Buddhism. He follows the rules whenever he can but doesn't make a huge deal about it when he can't.

Really not confident in the way i handled the end of his bio. The rational seems to disjointed to me...i don't know, maybe i'm being overly critical here. If i'm not, i'm open to suggestions on how to fix it.

EDIT: Damn...2 hours too late, Someone else called it. Sorry.

Yeah there is still a spot for one more security personnel but like IFS said, I'll be looking for the best sheet for the job. You can still work on the security personnel sheet if you want but your doctor sheet looks good.

Alrighty, here are my final choices:

Pilot:

NinjaDeathSlap said:
Name: WCm. Natasha 'Wings' Kaminov

Age: 37

Gender: Female

Role on the 'Juliet': Pilot

Appearance: Standing at an average height of 5ft 8in, Natasha has a slim, athletic build that some might describe as almost boyish. However, she carries herself in a pro-active, confident manner. Her skin is incredibly pale which contrasts sharply with her jet black hair and eyebrows, both cut severely and residing in a sharply featured face, with high, prominent cheekbones, a thin nose and a sharp chin. Her eyes look large in her face, and are a soft, jade green, which serves to somewhat pacify what would otherwise be a very stern set of facial features, making her a little more approachable. She dislikes flash, and would be opposed to all but the most subtle cosmetics even if she wasn't on a mission where looking pretty was just about the least of all concerns, keeping her nails filed short and only wearing one piece of jewellery. Namely, a thin, white gold necklace with a single pearl hanging from it. An heirloom as elegant as it is expensive. When she's not required to be in full gear, Natasha wears various combinations of black Agency T-shirts and vests, with running shorts or tracksuit bottoms.

Bio: While the initial reactions to First Contact Day, from jubilation to terror, were understandably varied all around the world, what most would agree on is that the new found peace and unified scientific advancement that such and event motivated in the human race was nothing short of miraculous. Unfortunately, Natasha's family were an anomaly. She was born into an extremely wealthy and (formerly) politically influential lineage; and her family's wealth and status flowed from old roots, sunk deep into the Russian establishment. With old money and old allegiances, came old ways of thinking, and Natasha was raised in a household that was strictly orthodox and aggressively nationalist, not to mention bitter at how their social standing had waned in the 20 or so years before her birth.

Growing up in this environment, the young Natasha naturally absorbed and parroted the doctrines of her family. Even so, Natasha was always burdened with a sense of needing more, wanting to explore beyond both the physical and social boundaries that had been put in place for her. Growing up on her family's old estate, Natasha's favourite hobby was falconry, and for as long as she can remember she has lusted after the concept of flight, and the unburdened freedom that to her it always represented. These desires mingled with her right wing upbringing, and resulted in her ambition to join the Russian Air Force, an ambition that she pursued with a singular drive throughout her adolescence, scoring the top grades required and enlisting straight out of college.

To her surprise, enlisting in the Russian military introduced Natasha into a world that was far more open and accepting to the reality of international co-operation. These ideals were strange to her at first, but she could not deny their attraction and quickly shed many of the political leanings of her family. As well as this, Natasha proved to be a truly excellent fighter pilot. Sharp, calm under pressure, and doggedly determined. It was at flight school when her peers first started calling her 'Wings', after the scrap-books and photo albums full of birds (both natural and mechanical) that she kept in her locker. Rising through the ranks of the Air Force astonishingly quickly, Natasha inevitably caught the attention of the European Space Agency, who were keen to recruit potentially talented cosmonauts in an environment that was mostly led, on the engineering side at least, by the USA and China.

While Natasha's family had originally supported her military career, despite their grievances with changes to Russian foreign policy, this was too much. The thought of their daughter taking orders from NASA, a government organisation belonging to such an old adversary, and agency that had beaten their people to the moon a century ago, shamed them. The deterioration of Natasha's relationship with her family was not explosive. However, the more they tried to steer her away from her current path, the more stubborn Natasha became in response, until eventually the constant fights were too much for either side to bear, and they began to lose touch. In a fit of bitterness, Natasha's father ceased all financial support of his daughter before she left for Florida. However, by this point Natasha was already being paid a handsome salary, so it made little difference.

That was 3 years ago. Since then, Natasha has flown 2 successful missions (one to Alpha Centauri), and earned herself a solid reputation. At the end of her last mission, piloting a craft of the same class as the 'Juliet' a debris strike shortly after take-off punctured an area of the ship's heat shielding, threatening the safety of the crew on re-entry. Even though the problem was only discovered by the crew as they were beginning their final descent into the Earth's atmosphere, Natasha's quick thinking and skill in adjusting her planned vector in such extreme conditions quite possibly saved the lives of the entire crew, earning her respect and even a small degree of celebrity.

Personality: Natasha is not exactly anti-social. She gets on with people well enough, and despite her upbringing has never shown any prejudice towards astronauts of other national backgrounds. However, when on the job, she keep her mind on the job, pure and simple. She takes her role and her responsibilities seriously, and doesn't appreciate distractions. She seems to fall into the no-man's land of being nobody's enemy, but nobody's best friend either. However, even people who aren't particularly fond of her would never dispute her skill at the helm, or her composure in high stress situations. Natasha is, above all else, dependable. When you're making a trip to an astronomic anomaly unexplained by science, to search for survivors of a previous mission gone badly wrong, she's the woman you want flying you there... and hopefully back again.

While she doesn't regret any decisions she has made, a part of Natasha can't help but still yearn for her parent's approval, and she can only hope that one day, perhaps after a mission so important and ground-breaking as this, that they might accept the importance of the path she has chosen.

Faith: If asked whether she believes in any kind of higher power, Natasha will tell you that, either one day we will find out, and then we'll know for sure, or we never will, in which case there's no use guessing. In either case, it doesn't matter what anybody believes. Privately however, she can help but believe that there are higher powers out there... and she is afraid of what might happen on the day we come face to face with them.

Notes: Natasha speaks very good English, as well as a smattering of Mandarin. However, when stressed she often switches back absent-mindedly to speaking in Russian. When she's not flying or sleeping, Natasha can usually be found exercising or reading (she likes the Russian classics). Anything to keep her mind and body sharp for when she needs them.

Asclepion said:
Name: Abdul Ghani Nasr

Age: 47

Gender: Male

Role on the Juliet: Commander

Bio: A man of Lebanese and Arab descent. He attended the University of Balamand, studying telecommunications and aerospace engineering. He fixed satellites for the Headquarters of Aeronautics before becoming a pilot himself, mapping the icy wastes of Enceladus and volcanic plumes of Io. Having been born after First Contact, the existence of life on other planets had been ever present to him. His own world had such a diversity of living beings, so one would simply assume that others did as well.

He has a daughter, Maisha.

Personality: A grim man with little charisma and showing signs of his age, Abdul Ghani Nasr is nonetheless capable and decisive. He has an unwavering resolve and is prepared to shoulder the responsibility of his ship and comrades, willing to suit up and join at the front if need be.

Religious Belief (if any): Non-theistic, but elements of Buddhism/Pantheism (not a creator god, there is simply oneness and that we are all one). He has expressed belief in reincarnation.

Name: SrA.Dr.James Northfleet (He holds a doctorate in spaceship engineering and is a senior airmen rank in the U.S. Air Force. By strangers or people he barely knows, he prefers to be referred to by his military rank and last name.)

Age: 52

Gender: Male

Role on the Juliet: Flight Engineer

Appearance: Northfleet is an intimidating Caucasian individual standing at 6'3". Being an Air Force astronaut Northfleet is also physically fit, thought not muscular. He also keeps his dark brown hair in uniformed buzz cut, which goes along with his brown eyes.

Bio: Northfleet was born in NC, U.S.A. in 2028. His life growing up was normal: He went to church on Sundays, made A and Bs in school, had girlfriends, etc.

Despite not being alive at the time of its happening First Contact fascinated him. So he went to college for a doctorate in Aeronautics engineering. It wasn't an Ivy League college but it was still a good one. In college he met a girl named Juliet (Funnily enough) he was fairly sure she was the most beautiful woman alive and they married and currently have two children and she's pregnant with another.

Northfleet joined the Air Force as a flight engineer shortly after graduating. They have never promoted him to an NCO position but he's fine with that, a leadership position isn't for him even if he does treat rookies like they are his kids.

He was on the mission to search for the signal near Alpha Centauri, and it's the most fun he ever had so when the Air Force started taking volunteers for the Elijah mission he jumped at the chance.

Personality: Northfleet is somewhat introverted individual, but he his kind, especially to fellow military members. Northfleet is fairly fatherly, and is always willing to help whatever the problem. He is also a Theist and prays, though he is not quite sure what to; he also tries to do the right thing whenever possible and encourages others to do the same.

Religious Belief: Northfleet is a Theist. He doesn't believe in any particular Deity but he believes there is a God, a heaven, a hell, etc.

Note: If anyone would like to have a pre-existing relationship (Besides fairly friendly) just PM me. (Especially the fellow who ends up playing the pilot since we will be working close together.)
Drone Specialist:
Azkar Almsivi said:

Doctor:
IFS said:

Religious Belief: Christian, though he tends to be rather private about it
Science Officer:
DarkRawen said:
Name: Dr. Nikolai Chervenkov [PhDs below.]

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Appearance: Dark hair that's short enough to not be in the way, and long enough to cover his ears, tanned skin and dark eyes. 6'2" feet tall and with a normal build. Well trained, as an astronaut should be, but certainly not bulky, and he's gained some weight during the trip. His facial traits are pleasing, but he's not particularly handsome apart from that. He does prefer being clean-shaved, but sometimes he just doesn't care enough to actually shave.

Role on the Julie: Science Officer/Scientist. His fields are mostly biological sciences, and he has doctorates in Biochemistry and Botany.

Bio: Nikolai Chervenkov was born in Bulgaria, and has been living there for most of his life. The First Contact really didn't change the life of his family much at all. Obviously, it changed the society around them, but it wasn't before his grandmother left her family behind to go Russia and become an astronaut, it had an actual impact. Despite her having an education in engineering, as well as showing some interest earlier, it was very sudden. More surprisingly, she succeeded. That was in 2055, when he was 7 years old. Nikolai never really understood the fascination she had taken to space as a child, she had spent hours telling him about the First Contact, but he didn't understand it. What could inspire a loving grandmother to suddenly leave? And, why not back then? Why had she decided to leave 35 years later? He never did understand that. Then, she passed away, from complications under a trip, according to the short letter they had sent home.

For a long time, it seemed Nikolai didn't care about what had happened to her, letting the sudden whims of an 45 year old woman slip by the child. Seeing that his dad had been shocked when his grandmother left, that was a good thing. Interest in the space became, despite the increasing interest of society, a negative thing within the family. That was why the supposedly well settled and responsible Nikolai opened old wounds when he told his family that he intended to follow in his grandmother's footsteps. At this time, he was known as a very talented biologist who had made several significant discoveries. His relatives, not wanting another letter, told him not to bother contacting them again.

One family less, Nikolai went to the US due to the recent developments there. He spent several years on becoming an astronaut -certainly not neglecting his research while there- and finally was accepted for this mission.

Personality: Nikolai has a whimsical personality, perhaps odd for someone with several doctorates. Although certainly interested in his fields, he won't bother try talking to most people about it, instead opting for a more general approach to conversations. Nikolai does take pride in his work, however, make no mistake, and he does want to discover something. Trying to explain it just makes it less interesting, in his opinion. He doesn't like being told what to do by others, and he doesn't gain respect for people easily, but he certainly won't hold that against on a personal level, nor will his pride actually hinder work. Most of the time. What he will hold against someone, however, is them assuming he's from Russia, Ukraine or Belarus. Really, anywhere that's not Bulgaria. Asking him is perfectly fine, assuming so because of his accent and name is not.

Apart from this, he seems like a reasonable man, responsible enough to be trusted with as important a task as being the scientific officer of the ship, caring enough to be human, and laid-back enough to enjoy life even as he's in space. He has a fierce, but short-lived temper, and together with his whims, there are times when he'll surprise people, act out on a risk or emotion that people'll have difficulties seeing. He's certainly not below insulting people either when in a bad mood or angry, and is fairly good at doing so subtly.

So far, none of his whims have made him do anything drastic, unless one for some ridiculous reason should assume that leaving his family behind to follow in the footsteps of his grandmother, who died on her first and only mission, is drastic. Nikolai has a tendency to claim that he's a man of logic, and that every action he's made is following a certain logic. He just doesn't let anyone know what kind of messed up logic that would be.

Religious Belief(if any): Member of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. Nikolai hasn't let whether or not he actually believes in it slip.

Role on the Juliet: Security Personnel

Bio: Born in Ireland in the years after First Contact, David spent a lot of his childhood hearing the ravings of his father who had been obsessed with Aliens since First Contact. Personally, he wasn't too into the whole idea, but there was something about Space that always interested him (Or his dad DID rub off on him).
Either way, he grew up and got an education, Scoring a Scholarship to get into Trinity College (Think Ireland's Yale).
While he lagged behind most of the other Alien Mad students, he did manage to pass by joining the military, as most failing students did.

He found his calling there, seeing how every military group in the world was now hasty working to counter a possible invasion by Aliens.
A distinguished career and a transfer to the Department of Aeronautics and David was on the Juliet, though he has to ask why the hell we don't just use one of those big ass telescopes to just look for the Elijah instead.

Personality: Records state that he was the resident Joker of his Unit, Pulling one liners and cracking jokes and the odd Prank. Despite this, He gets on well with most people and Unit Members state that he always looked out for his friends
My own personal character:

Name: Yukino Lee

Age: 33

Gender: Female

Appearance: Yukino's half Japanese heritage is evident in her facial features with her slim eyes, small nose and delicate-looking face which contrasts with her rough demeanor. Because of her constant training and lifestyle, Yukino has a thin but wiry build akin to an athlete. Her brown hair is cut short and in a ponytail whenever she is seen. Yukino dresses normally albeit conservatively as she prefers to wear long-sleeves and pants whenever she can as there really isn't anything to see regardless. Yukino stands at a tall 5'11 which she guesses is because of her American father.

Role on the Juliet: Security Personnel

Bio: Her family has always been a military as far as she could remember which was how her father met her mother. Her mother was a clerk on the American air base in Japan while her father was a pilot. A few years later and they were married. Yukino always looked up to her father, literally as well because of his deep involvement in the United States Air force so it was special event in her life when her father was chosen as an astronaut. First Contact called for experienced candidates to become astronauts so Yukino watched as her father's ship flew into the endless wonder that was space.

That moment in her life inspired her enough to also follow in her father's footsteps. With her father's help she enlisted in the Air Force ROTC while in college. She did well in college. Yukino studied aeronautic engineering and once she graduated, she became an officer in the USAF. Much like her father, she became a pilot and performed well enough to become a candidate for the astronaut program. She would have became a commander in due time if it wasn't for the death of her father due to cancer. She cherished him deeply and it was a hard blow to Yukino. She lagged behind a bit in the astronaut program but eventually she landed a mission to Mars then to Jupiter to explore the gas giant.

She found the expeditions to be quite enjoyable and immediately worth all the training and the aspiration. She wondered if this was what her father felt as well. Her father's name was also quite known in the NASA community but she insisted on working her way up rather than using connections although it was because of one that made Yukino on the Broken Sun mission. A close friend of her father noted her loyalty for him and the astronaut program and selected her to be part of the security detail aboard the ship. Yukino didn't think twice and accepted it right away.

Personality: Yukino is a by-the-book kind of person. She wouldn't dare deviate from the ordered path. She stuck closely to the orders given and is willing to stand by the rules no matter what the cost. This loyalty served her well in the Air Force and she has no reason to stop believing in it. Her belief in her orders are as unshakable as her loyalty to her fellow astronauts and she would often do anything to help her fellow man or woman.

Despite her steadfast(and some would describe as stubborn) attitude, Yukino is friendly and kind to most people. She carries her mother's courtesy close at heart and her father's sense of hard work in her career. Still, she misses her father deeply and tries to control her emotions when in space as it reminds her a lot of him.

Religious Belief: Strictly Atheist

"Juliet this is the Haros station, you're scheduled for a final refueling at our station, do you copy?" An accented voice said into the Juliet.

The Juliet itself was floating in space, slightly propelled by her anti-matter engines towards the gigantic gas planet or rather towards a refueling station in orbit. The engines made a pleasant hum from within the ship itself as it slowly sailed through space. The ship itself was a lovely piece of work as was every ship that humanity has sent out in search of the signal. The Juliet was a direct effect of the signal's power. Without the signal, humanity would have still been killing each other instead of banding together for the greater good. Now that is the case. Humans as a whole put down their weapons and began doing what humanity was famous for doing. Building.

Humanity built the ships and reached the stars at an unheard of speed. Now humans were past the heavens and into the vastness of space. Another canvas waiting to be drawn upon by humanity. Another place for them to leave their mark upon for greater or worse.

Now the Juliet was 760 kilometers from Earth which was a moon compared to Jupiter and its gigantic girth. The Juliet was a sleek white against the blackness of space and ready for the stars ahead of her. Its crew also among humanity's best. They were the smartest and most capable for the job ahead because they were humans after all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yukino sat up from her crunches, feeling the burn from the workout. In this environment, it was necessary to keep your body in motion for multiple reasons but the leading one being that certain side effects from being in space can lead to your body almost breaking down from lack of exercise. Yukino guessed that the ship should be close to the refueling station by now. She breathed easy, recovering briefly from her workout. Yukino looked down at the straps, making sure they were tight enough and that she wouldn't float in space. The straps in question were simple cargo straps bolted to the floor so containers wouldn't be floating around during orbit. Yukino would strap herself down so that she would work out parts of her body. There were elastic straps too but these were more simple and easily found.

For a few seconds, Yukino thought back to the green Earth. She did miss its wonderful colors and wonderful people. By the time she was born, the effects of First Contact had still shaken the world into getting its act collectively together. Most importantly, Yukino remembers her dad being one of the first astronauts into space following the years after First Contact.

"If only you could see me now..." Yukino thought. Then with a sharp sigh she went back to her exercises.

Emerson looked over the various medical histories and reports of his fellow crewmates, this was certainly looking to be an interesting voyage, and with luck a very successful one. Certainly he saw no reason why they might fail, they had the best technology available, and from the look of things the crew was composed of some of humanities best and brightest. The cyborg certainly looks interesting, I've worked with enhancements before but nothing on quite the same level as her, and what's this? He frowned more deeply than usual as he examined the file. This is not very good, he thought, seems Dr. Chervenkov hasn't been keeping up on his training regimen, I should have some words with him.

With that he logged out of the tablet and put it away, before pushing himself off through the ship. He moved with ease through the ship, soon arriving at the lab, rapping his knuckles against the wall to get the doctor's attention.

"Dr. Chervenkov, we need to talk," he said seriously "It's about your prostate," he began, pausing for dramatic effect "It's fine, the rest of you isn't though."

He let that sink in, his expression didn't change but he smiled inwardly at his little joke. He doubted Dr. Chervenkov would appreciate it, most didn't, but he didn't usually make such remarks for others amusement.

"You've been neglecting your training haven't you?" he asked "Your test results at least seem to indicate such, staying fit up here is a serious concern you know."

The lackluster training efforts on Nikolai's part, and Emerson confronting him about them, is something that Rawen and I discussed beforehand (as well as Rawen's idea). Just mentioning so here so no one thinks I'm going to be forcing details onto their characters.

Northfleet flicked through the engine room's console; green bars and high numbers all around. Except the bar indicating the fuel of course, but they were about to refuel anyway so that was unimportant. Northfleet closed the console's window and talked into his headset. "Alright Kaminov, the status of the ship is excellent. Contact me if something goes wrong." He said as he floated out the engine room and towards his sleeping quarters.

He reached under his bed looking for his book. After about a minute of searching he pulled it out a took a seat on his bead to read. It was book about early engineering in the days before first contact. To summarize it was quite primitive.

He wasn't really paying attention to what he was reading his mind was more focused on the mission and several questions he had. The most prominent of which was obviously what happened to the Elijah? The aliens were an obvious culprit, but the First Contact could have been a legitimate message of peace. It would probably help if anybody could decode the thing. Well, that was enough thinking, time to enjoy his book!

Nikolai was in a good mood. Despite feeling somewhat light-headed, he was fine, it was a beautiful... well, whatever it was. At the moment, the lab was rather empty, not only because they were preserving room in case they found something worth studying -something related to the missing ship, most likely- but also because he was the only scientist on-board. However, there were the typical samples to tend to -bacteria and viruses and such- cleaning the lab so that it was completely spotless, as well as the most fun part. Tending to his flowers. Nikolai was able to talk them into letting him take a few samples of his hybrid flower, the Nikolaia, on board.

The bright blue flower, akin to the stereotypical rose in shape but with patterns on the insides of the petals, was quite a special breed. Capable of withstanding rather extreme temperatures, as well as being fairly beautiful, it was his pride. Apart from three Nikolaias, there was a couple of other flowers and plants, like a common garden-rose breed, and a cactus. It was all for the sake of comparison, botany wasn't exactly the most commonly science explored in space, so he was extra curious about this part of the journey.

And the journey itself, of course. He wasn't sure if he was still used to being in space, but hey, he was adapting. Nikolai tended some more to his Nikolaias, especially one of them was large and beautiful, and he intended for it to stay that way. They were below a protective glass case, which he carefully lifted each time he was to tend to them. He was in the middle of examining the flowers when there was knocking.

"I'll be there in just a---"

Wait, that was from inside the lab, wasn't it? Nikolai turned around, surprised when he saw Doctor Emerson.

When did he get in?

The man looked serious, and his tone wasn't exactly light-hearted either.

"Dr. Chervenkov, we need to talk. It's about your prostate,"

Huh? I think I would have remembered a prostate exam.

Nikolai thought. Had he forgotten about it?

"It's fine, the rest of you isn't though."

Oh.

Well, that was a relief... no, not really. Not considering that the doctor still looked as serious as before.

"You've been neglecting your training haven't you? Your test results at least seem to indicate such, staying fit up here is a serious concern you know."

"And a good day to you too, Elliot. You do know I've told you to call me Nikolai, yeah?" Nikolai had tried to call the man by his first name, but the doctor didn't seem to care much for it. However, last name was too impersonal for someone he saw several times a week, usually several times a day. Not that he got to call anyone else by their first names either, people were so impersonal.

"I haven't neglected my training, what are you talking about?" Nikolai asked, although it was true that he had forgotten to exercise a couple of times. He was aware of that it was important to train in space, but seeing that his job was to tend to the lab, it couldn't be that important to do it all the time. And sure, he had gained a small amount of weight, but the food was supposed to work like that, right?

"I'm just not used to being in space yet."

"Juliet this is the Haros station, you're scheduled for a final refueling at our station, do you copy?"

"Copy Haros Control." Natasha replied, leaning forward in her chair so she might speak clearly into the radio. "Approaching on standard vector, ETA 5 minutes."

Releasing the response switch, Natasha made a few minor corrections to the Juliet's trajectory, before easing back into her chair once more. Flying in space was still, even after two missions, something she found at once remarkably serene and more than a little disconcerting. It was an experience so far removed from her days in the Air Force, that she often wondered how the powers that be could tell which fighter pilots would make good astronauts. In the cockpit of a MiG or an SU, there was always something Natasha needed to do, the craft always fighting against gravity and wind resistance, always requiring her input. On the Juliet, a burn of no more than a couple of seconds from the anti-matter engines could be enough to carry them for thousands of miles, drifting for weeks through an ocean of almost absolute nothing. Such a scenario made it much harder for a pilot to retain her concentration, and retain it she must, because the moment that Nothing became Something, everything would rest on her shoulders.

"Alright Kaminov, the status of the ship is excellent. Contact me if something goes wrong."

"Copy that." Natasha responded in her 'working' voice, before opening the radio to the whole ship.

"Alright everyone, we'll be docking with Haros Station in approximately 4 minutes."

While Natasha was looking forward to a few hours of R&R, or what counted as such on Haros station, she hoped it would not be too long before the Juliet was away again. They were on an important mission after all, and Natasha intended to see it done.

As the ship orbited over the Gas Giant, the other half of the security detail was doing this sworn duty to the human race to protect this ship with every fiber of his being.
"Come on...Bring you damn dirty Aliens!" David growled as the hoards of the unknown invaders came ever closer and closer, their advance spelling doom for humanity and the SS Blasty Mc-Killyourface.

The computer tablet he was playing on flashed as he beat the level.
"Oh yeah. You just got David West'd!" He bragged as Natasha spoke over the intercom:

"Alright everyone, we'll be docking with Haros Station in approximately 4 minutes."

"And Thank Be to Fuck for that!" David cooed, glad that the first leg of their trip was over as he floated up from his bunk, sliding his Tablet back into the container for his personal belongings.
While space was awesome and all, he was still getting the hang of Zero G as he struggled to pull himself out of the Crew Quarters and towards the Storage Room where the other half of the Ship's Security was working out.
"Hey Yu (Yukino), Think you can take a break now. You're just in space, not entering the Olympics..." he joked as he watched the Asian, hanging off one of the handles on the wall.

Caucasian, 6ft 2in tall, Thick Hair; Gel'd back, Dyed a Dark unnatural Crimson, Lean yet muscular Build.
There should be more here but there isn't

"I'm just not used to being in space yet."

Emerson's expression remained stern and he shook his head disapprovingly. Dr. Chervenkov seemed genuinely surprised and worried about this, so it seemed clear to Emerson that he hadn't been aware of the problems of neglecting his training. Either that or he forgot that he had training to do.

"You realize that if you don't keep yourself in shape then your heart could easily give out," Emerson said "You need to focus on your training, maybe a bit less on your plants."

He pushed himself over and examined one of the plants, Dr. Chervenkov was a very smart man but he seemed to get too wrapped up on his work sometimes. At least he's good at his job, though everyone needs to stay in shape up here, losing any one of us could jeopardize the mission.

"You realize that if you don't keep yourself in shape then your heart could easily give out. You need to focus on your training, maybe a bit less on your plants."

Doctor Emerson said, sternly.

"What? Less on my plants?" Nikolai asked, and followed the doctor's movements with his eyes, making sure he wasn't touching anything he shouldn't be touching. "I can't focus less on my plants, I'm already not spending enough time on them. And there's other species as well. And cleaning!" Cleaning was important, so important that the fact that doctor Emerson had gotten inside without him knowing, even if the other was a physician, made Nikolai approach the other.

"As I've said, I've just forgotten a couple of times, no biggie. I do feel a little light-headed, but that'll calm down, I'm sure of that."

Probably.

"Now," Nikolai said, and put a hand on the doctor's shoulder. "Elliot, can we either leave this be, or talk about this in your office? Because my office isn't for this kind of stuff, and while the flowers are very pretty, I'd rather keep the number of people here below what's not strictly necessary. I don't like people watching me when I work, unless they're working with me. Especially not when floating around." With that said, Nikolai carefully put a hand on his back, and walked -well, the zero g version of walking- the doctor to the door, pushing him to make sure he went. When they were outside, Nikolai smiled a bit more. "So, what did my results say, really? I'm sure we can find out what the real cause is---"

"Alright everyone, we'll be docking with Haros Station in approximately 4 minutes."

"Or, we can take it on the way, yeah?" Nikolai asked, eager to experience the station. He then realized that he had forgotten to remove the hands holding the doctor, and did so, absentmindedly, before going ahead.

"Alright everyone, we'll be docking with Haros Station in approximately 4 minutes."

While Kaminov manned the controls, the ship's commander floated through the aperture. Abdul had propelled himself across the entire fulesalage, overviewing every subsystem, checking the logs on his handheld computer for the slightest error. When all of them had been positive, he entered the cockpit, grasping the dashboard and flipping himself into the seat next to their pilot. Her deliberate and skillful flight assured him, as did the Juliet's entire crew. Though it was a risky and momentous undertaking, Nasr allowed it all to be washed under a waveless calm.

For now.

"Beautiful." He said to their pilot. "If you keep this up, we may make it yet."

He turned his gaze to the main viewport.

The trip so far had been a fairly lonely one for Cui Yifie. She hadn't been avoiding anyone on purpose however, she was up to her stumps in reading up on the material for her new closest work mates (the drones) and her equipment. Cui was standing next to a workbench, hanging onto the floor with her feet, a tactic that was surprisingly useful considering floating around bothered her for some reason, she preferred to climb around the ship instead.

She turned and leaned into the bench. She turned the display off inside her headcase that she was reading and closed her eyes. The docking process didn't require or yield anything for her, so she decided to have a nap while everyone else was busy. With a little yawn, Cui hooked her arm around the corner of the bench so she wouldn't float around and switched everything off emitting light.

Natasha said nothing. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for the compliment, any positive comments on her aptitude were always welcome. She just wasn't sure exactly what else to say other than 'thanks' which sounded awkward and redundant in her head. She wasn't doing anything right now that wasn't entirely standard procedure. In the unfortunate event that they might come across situations on this mission that fell outside those parameters, situations that Natasha had not yet had to face, then she, Abdul and all the rest would know what she was truly made of, for better or for worse.

The entirety of the Juliet's port viewing canopy was filled with the vast mass of Jupiter, it's surface an ugly, ever restless swirl of beige and ochre which never failed to remind Natasha of vomit. She kept such observations to herself however. Besides, Jupiter didn't have to be pretty, or serenely still. It's greedy, insatiable size gave it a majesty all of its own. All of the planets in the system, save Earth, were named after the pantheon of Grecko-Roman Gods, but Jupiter was the only one that truly looked the part.

That was enough musing though. She needed to focus.

"Approaching on standard vector, ETA 5 minutes."

"Roger that, standing by for approach, over." The man said. As the ship drew closer, they could see space station ahead of them.

The space station itself was twice the size of Juliet and consisted of modules from nations all over the globe but its most noticeable features are the large tanks for fuel attached to the side of the space station. The Haros space station mostly refueled ships for expeditions in or beyond the solar system. The Haros station itself was slim with some outstretching modules fitted with solar panels for energy and satellites but otherwise, the Haros station looked like a gigantic pen. Its modules had different colors up and down the station indicating which nations they were from. A few white figures could be seen from the Juliet, scurrying around on the Haros station but upon closer view, they were astronauts with their drone counterparts doing some maintenance work. One of them even waved to the cockpit of the Juliet.

"Prepare for refueling, Juliet." The voice said. Once the ship's right side was parallel to the station, a door opened on the station. Two astronauts emerged, guiding a drone carrying a large hose. They floated over to the ship and began the lengthy refueling process. "Everything checks out, Juliet. Extending limb, over."

Two drones floated over and attached a large cylindrical suction to the door of the Juliet. One drone flew back to the station at a quick speed and brought back what seemed to be large glass casing matching the size of the one attached the the ship. The drone attached the casing to the base and fetched another one while the drone there secured the pieces together. Piece by piece, a glass tunnel was being formed that bridged the gap between Haros station and Juliet. Once the tunnel was finished a drone pressed a series of commands on the panel of the tunnel entrances. The tunnel tightened its form making the visible lines of the glass pieces nearly invisible.

"Alright, stress check." The drone pressed another series of commands making the tunnel vibrate for a brief moment. "Looks good, limb is secure. Airing in the tunnel." Perforated holes on the corners of the Haros door opened. Then the entire door slid open and behind the door was their astronaut greeter.

"Oxygen.... check. Tunnel is secure. Welcome aboard, Juliet." The voice concluded. The astronaut in the tunnel removed his helmet and breathed in the oxygen. As he did so, he floated down the tunnel towards Juliet and pressed the intercom located next to the door.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Haros station. Sorry for the delay, HQ sent us this very fancy tunnel. We're just getting used to it but rest assured, it is completely safe. Trust me, I'm Texan, I've done just about everything to this thing. But enough about me, come on in!" The man said with his heavy Texan accent.

"You're just in space, not entering the Olympics..."

"Exercising in zero gravity benefits your body in more ways than one. It prevents the dis-atrophy of the muscles and keeps you ready for anything. You'd know if you actually did so." Yukino said while not even missing a beat. She took exercise very seriously because she knew what would happen if one didn't exercise in space but she knew she did so mostly because there wasn't anything else to really do. Then there was a brief silence before Yukino looked at David. "That was a joke."

Stellar Aeronautics Synthetic Humanoid Prototype | Designation R.K. leaned completed its Power Up cycle and glanced about the empty storage locker, allowing its head mounted sensors to scan the room. Between the readings from its gravitational sensors and the layout of the room, when correlated against a database of Space Station blueprints, ARK deduced that it had arrived at Haro Station. The fact that Jupiters Great Red Spot appeared on the other side of a view port only reinforced the conclusion as the Synthoid pulled itself out of its Storage container, the Pre-Mission task list having been loaded into active memory.

Code:
===============================
Task List:
1. Locate Assigned Shuttle: S.S. Juliet
2. Transport Charging and Data Hub to S.S. Juliet
3. Complete Installation of Charging and Data Hub
4. Crew Introductions
5. [s]Coffee Break[/s]
===============================
If ARK had the capacity to frown, it surely would have as its internal chronometer showed that it was now 30 nanoseconds behind schedule, a 30 nanoseconds that it would be hard pressed to make up prior to the S.S. Juliet's scheduled launch time. Pulling itself out of the storage container, the Synthetic Humanoid started its first day of work.

[hr]

Even though Haro Station was located in Jupiter orbit and had a reduced gravity, the task of moving ARK's Charging and Data Hub was still slow going. The time table that had been programmed into ARK's task list had not accounted for the Crew Members of Haro Station stopping in the middle of the corridors to stare at the Synthetic Humanoid Prototype and thus forced the ARK to wait ever patiently for the crew members to finish taking Holos of the Prototype, some even being so bold as to pose for Holos next to ARK.

21 Minutes later, and now 7 minutes behind schedule, ARK was loading itself and its equipment into an airlock as the umbilical bridge that linked the Shuttle to the Station had not yet been extended. Carefully guiding the floating Module across the bridge, ARK noted a pair of Haro Crew members waiting to complete a cargo delivery. As it had been with the other crew members, these crew members stopped to gawk at the Synth. This time, however, a series of comments were quietly passed between the pair.

"That is the ugliest piece of tech I've ever seen." Said one of the Crew Members with a grin on his face, the other nodding in agreement.

"You should see what your mom's vibrator looks like the morning after, ya dickhead!" Crooned ARK's voice as one of the loaded Personalities took offense to the comment and responded, its chosen vocal output being that of a East Coast Longshoreman.

"What'd you say?" Asked the Haro Crew Member asked, unable to believe that ARK had responded in such a fashion and unsure as to whether his wages would be docked for striking what amounted to a piece of equipment.

"You heard me. Your momma, leaves oozes all over her vibrator, now move your asses before I toss you through an airlock."

[hr]

10 minutes and 1 space walk later, ARK completed integration of its Power and Data Hub with the S.S. Juliet's.

"Exercising in zero gravity benefits your body in more ways than one. It prevents the dis-atrophy of the muscles and keeps you ready for anything. You'd know if you actually did so." Came a voice from a nearby compartment, very close to ARK's current location.

Curious to observe the interpersonal relationships between the S.S. Juliet's crew, the Synthetic Humanoid maneuvered itself to the bulkhead door and peered through the opening. ARK took note of the two crew members beyond the portal and identified them as Crew Members David West: Security Officer and Yukino Lee: Security Officer.

"That was a joke."

"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!" Came a harsh barrage of synthesized laughter from ARK, informing the two security officers that they were no longer alone. From the Security Officer's perspective, they saw what appeared to be a man wrapped from head to toe in vinyl, peering through one of the bulkhead doors, though truth be told, they couldn't tell if he was human or not since they couldn't see any facial defined facial features to suggest as such, only vague suggestions of such.

Rec-Room/Storage: David West, Yukino, ARK

David listened as Yukino went on about the benefits of Exercise, giving him the same pitch that the Trainers on Earth had drilled into them over and over again.
He merely stared on as an awkward silence formed, only for her to break it with:

"That was a joke."

"Coulda fooled me." He remarked right before the Synthetic Humanoid began laughing at Yukino's "Hilarious" attempt at humor though the Bulkhead.

"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"

"...Okay, Flat What. That wasn't even a punchline!" He jabbed at ARK's sense of Humor, unaware that he was basically talking to a robot and thinking he was just one of the Station's Docking team.
"Look, I get the gist of why we need to do them and I do preform them regularly. What I also do is other things in my spare time, Unlike some people. Now come on, we're docking." He then said before making his way over to the airlock where the ship connected to the Haros Station.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Haros station. Sorry for the delay, HQ sent us this very fancy tunnel. We're just getting used to it but rest assured, it is completely safe. Trust me, I'm Texan, I've done just about everything to this thing. But enough about me, come on in!" The welcoming party said as David floated towards him.

"Did you try smashing it with a baseball bat? If not, then you haven't done everything. David West, one half of the Security Detail. Nice to meet ya." The Irishman joked before offering the Texan a hand to shake.
