"Oh yes Professor, I deeply appreciate that you thought of sending me a invitation." Travis said with much enthusiasm. "So Professor," he started with a questioning tint, "what have you been up to recently in Egypt? You must have some fine tales to mention about your time in Egypt.".

"Well, I've been gathering a bit of this collection. It's a bit harder now, what with all these tomb raiders looting the sites. But I've partisipated on a few digs and uncovered a ripe old grand. Although this next one will our biggest find yet. Saheed and I will take a boat up the Nile along with everyone to the temple city. From there, hopefully we will find Memnon and perhaps the body of Kadath himself. Readings have proven that he exists, although most likely killed by an inncodent. The ancient Egyptians were quite a superstious bunch."

A small meow made Travis jump so slightly on that word.

"Ah, there you are," Hubert bent down to pick up this small Tabby cat. "I found her on the streets. She sometimes likes to hide in some of the exibits."

Was there supposed to be a post limit? If so...we've kinda thrown that out the window already :D Oh, I'm also taking a mild liberty with history here, but it is in the 1920's, so I've kind of assumed it is at least 1923 or 4.

Jacob tried not to sigh as he slowly lost a bit of respect for Spencer - the man was a brilliant man who was apparently on the expedition of his life, and yet he seemed more interested in lechorously drooling over a woman 40 years younger than him and playing with his cat rather than actually proceeding with this.

"Now that you've been truly blessed, Hubert, and once you've caught up with this man, how about you tell us why we are needed here - it seems you have the funding and the expertise, why do you need us to hunt down what could actually be a myth? I hate to be the one to point that out, but what concrete proof do we have? Not that I'm against trapsing around the area looking for this magnificent temple, but I'm all too aware that unless we want to end up like Lord Carnarvon or George Herbert for no reason, we'll want to know exactly what we're doing and what proof there is. That, or in 5 months time enjoy the fact that we've sparked off another press-sensation when one of us gets the flu."

Jacob felt a little guilty; he had not meant to come off angry at all, but he was not about to waltz around looking for a mythical/not-mythical temple without some kind of evidence - the stories of Tutankhamun's curse were still rife in the media.

I forgot to mention. It's all set in 1923.

The group converse a little as night begins to fall. Soon Spencer begins to talk to the group,
?As Saheed was just explaining the background of Kadath and Memnon, we do hope to uncover the dig. We have uncovered a map and a few treasures I am keeping downstairs, not on display, that may have origins from there. I have done my background research on this. I wouldn't blindly throw away large amounts of money on something I would think was a myth. The stories, maybe, but all stories start from a hint of truth.
But look at me talking, you?re all must be tired from your trip. I have already talked to the embassy and they have more then enough beds and rooms for all of you. I have also arranged for the boat as well and it will be leaving in three days time. Sorry, but the sun is setting and I still have a bit of work to do to be able to catch up. Tomorrow we will converse more and hopefully find a few little mysteries.?

Saheed bows to the group.
?From what Mr Spencer has told me, it will be honor working with you all. I must depart as well but am looking forward to meeting you all again tomorrow.? Saheed then picks up his cane and walks away. An expensive looking car waiting outside.

?So my friends, I?d love to talk and have fun, but I will leave you to rest for tomorrow.?
After saying his farewells and exchanging a few warm handshakes, he goes back inside the Museum to close it up for the night.

The embassy is just across the road from the museum. The night guard walks over to Spencer as they begin to lock the displays up.

OOC: I'm going to call it a night. The group may do as they wish, but the actual story will commence tomorrow. Have fun, Bwahahaha!

Yes, because the Bwahahahahaha! gives no impression that we're all just some kind of ritual sacrifice.

Jacob was happy for now but not particularly satisfied - he was content that Spencer was indeed on to something here, but he was still in the dark as to how he, or most of the other people here, could bring anything new to the expedition.

He watched the two men leave, then turned and looked at the cat, half amused, half annoyed, and after proclaiming that he was more of a dog person, leant against a nearby pillar and began to write down some quick notes. He would wait until the others were ready before setting off - he didn't fancy his chances alone in a foreign environment, after all, getting lost would be lucky when compared to being mugged and stabbed in an alley.

Leaving the museum, Travis Doormen was musing over the Professors revealed plans. 'Maybe this will lead to a huge discovery, maybe it will overshadow the scandals still affecting me at home? Or maybe it will just end up being a dud...' Travis thought as he crossed the road to the embassy. The iron gates were slowly swung open, and Travis walked through the embassy's front garden compromised of several types of flowers, shrubs and trees. Arriving at the front door, Travis pushed it open and stepped inside.

It was quite a large room, filled with several items of interest and the receptionist behind her wooden counter. Crossing the room to the steady ticking of a clock, Travis approached the receptionist. He began "Hello, my name is Travis Doormen...".
"Ah yes, Travis Doormen. Your suitcases have already been placed into your room, here is the key, and dinner is about to be served in the Dining Room. Dont worry sir, there are plenty of seats for the other guests." she said efficiently with a drawling tone.
"Thank you, and have a pleasent evening."
"Thank you sir, enjoy your night."

Travis turned and crossed the room, entering the door marked 'Dining Room'. A long, oaken table was set out with several sparkling white plates and dishes. So far, bread and butter was the only thing on the menu so he sat down and began to tear into a buttered piece of bread.

Giving the cat a gentle scratch behind the ears, Tony wandered towards the embassy out of a lack of anything else to do. After checking in, he was directed towards the dining room. The prospect of food was tempting indeed. He nodded to Travis as he entered, although whether he noticed or not was a matter of debate - the man was busy eating, after all.

Slumping into the closest seat, he found an almost literal oasis in this place - water. Cool, clean, fresh water. It flooded down his throat, cooling and hydrating his body from the inside.

Sorry about not being around, I had to take an unschedulded three-day trip. I'm back for a couple days, though.

Max was dissapointed that he hadn't been able to get a closer look at some of the exibits. He promised himself that he would spend some more time tomorrow looking them over. Spencer certainly had a fine collection of antiquities.

He looked down, making sure that the bag he was carrying was his. That mix-up at the airport had made him a bit cautious about his belongings. Hefting the bag he walked over to the embassy.

After seeing people leaving that Charles had not introduced himself to yet he decides he better make his formal introduction quick and yells to the remaining people in the museum.

"Greetings, my name for anyone who has forgotten is Charles Tellier and it is an honor to meet you all. If any of you ever need any assistance please feel free to give me a shout. Now if you will excuse me I must get some water before I die of thirst.

After saying this Charles quickly made his way to the embassy where he was pointed to the dining room.

Martin towards the embassy and heard a man curse loudly in french he turned towards the source of the curse and a horse was running right at him. Martin rolled to the side along with his belongings and he saw the horse run towards the crowded streets with a small boy on its back. "Get back here!" The man yelled in french while running after the horse and boy. Martin stifled a laugh and he picked himself up and dusted himself off he than continued walking towards the embassy.

He entered the cooler building and breathed a sigh he than asked where he could put his luggage and he put it where the man said which was along side every member of the group's luggage. Martin than walked into a room that had Dining room in it written in five languages three of which he could read.

Andy walked around taking as many photos as he could of anything he thought was interesting. He didn't speak much to others. He just wanted to take his snapshots then go home.

Satisfied with the 40 or so pictures he took of Dr. Spenser, the museum, and the other visitors in this little adventure, he put his camera away and went to the dining room.

Sorry, I'm not a good writer. Also, I'll be busy for about 12 hours so, if anything interesting happens, Andy is just silently following the group.

Laetitia stood for a moment, looking over the exhibits as she fussed the cat.

"You'd expect there to be some heavy security in this place if there's so many exhibits; but I can't see much. Perhaps the Underworld aren't as strong here." She thought to herself.

"Or perhaps they own it..." A bead of cold sweat ran down her back. She was about to think about retrieving her Webley from her suitcase when the smell of food beckoned.

"Well, it'd be impolite not to at least have dinner with them."

how many people have yet to post? Do we assume they are still in the Musuem for now or are slowly making their way to the Dining Room?

Jacob looked up from his notepad as the sound of footsteps echoed out of the dimly lit Musuem - the Spaniard had left, and the only remaining face he recognised was Jack's, and he thought the gentleman named Raphael may still be around, but he had lost interest. He tucked his pad and pencil into the breast pocket of his shirt, cursed himself when he realised one of the reasons why he might be so hot was that his collar was buttoned, and following this attempted to stroke the cat.

It hissed, scratched at his outstretched fingers and jumped back as he flinched.

"It's no wonder I'm a dog person with bastards like you in the world is it?" He told the cat, tentatively poking the scratched fingers. "Well then, I guess I'll be postponing dinner till I find something to stop me bleeding over my food; thank you, you oh-so-ferocious feline demon."

Jacob sucked on the three fingers of his right hand that now bled, and walked off towards the embassy in search of a plaster or three. The receptionist would have been pretty enough to brighten the end of his day, but in his now sour state it just seemed like an awful cliche, and after recieving first-'aid' from the woman, who apathetically handed him a few bright-blue plasters, he entered the dining room seething cynicism, expecting the food to be either awful at best or just poisoned.

He wasn't best pleased that there was only bread. As he seated himself he introduced himself to those he hadn't met yet as a group;

"Greetings everyone; my name is Jacob Doyle, and I'll be playing the part of 'The Writer Whose Been Mauled by a Cat' this evening, of which, on the subject, I have had one filled with meaningless drama, a horny old man and a gentleman who introduced himself by shouting at me." The last part he said whilst gesturing to Charles.

He reached for and picked up a slice of bread, before continuing, this time more to himself than anyone else; "Not to worry though, if the lack of food doesn't kill me, thus ending my suffering, I'm sure I can find a blunt instrument to do so with during the night." Following this, he took a bite of the bread he held, and leant back into his chair, rubbing his forehead and closing his eyes as he chewed.

Tsurugi leaned up against the glass case of one of the exhibits and a smile appears on his face as he examines the shiny artifact before him. He was taking his time looking around the room and was ignoring everything else including the people that had come with him. Moving on to the artifact beside the gold statue he finds a mummy, not really anyone of importance but he was still fascinated none the less. Pure joy is visible on his face as he goes from one artifact to the next. It seemed that his old Professor was busy here in Egypt collecting all these pieces and Tsurugi wondered what this big discovery would be. He couldn't wait to see it. He had only caught pieces of the discussion between his old Professor and the others in the room. He remembers the doctor talking about the temple they would be going to and he became extremly excited. Now he was back to looking from artifact to artifact. It took him awhile to realize most of the people had left the room. Looking around he spots someone left in there with him, "Oh, Hello. Where did the others go?" With a shake of his head he answers his own question, "Probably to the embassy to get some food and then sleep. I guess I should head there too. You coming....? I never got your name." Looking at the other man in the museum with him he walks toward the door and pushes it open waving his hand for the other man to follow.

Sorry I wasn't on for a couple days then I spent most of the time catching up on what was written in here.

Pretending he did not hear Jacob's comment Charles decides to head outside for a smoke. On his way out the front door he meets one of the people he saw in the museum and asks

"Pardon me but you wouldn't happen to have a light I can borrow would you?"

Just to be sure, Tsurugi I am talking to you.

BTW, I will be talking to THE Sandy Petersen (DOOM, Call of Cthulu) on Saturday, so any questions I'll pass on. :)
I have two;

Why did Doom 3 suck?

Can I haz free Call of Cthulhu kkthxbai?

...I don't even know that man's face - I mean, his name is familiar, but I cannot allocate his position in existance in relation to me.

On the subject of the RP, I actually LIKE the fact that Rain went to bed, as even though the story hasn't progressed it has given everyone thus far the chance to expand on their characters, and it has allowed ME to piss about with mine.

Oh and Charles = Awesome simply because he's a perfect gentlemen thus far. I wasn't deliberately singling you out Raikone, I just read through the previous posts to find something to put in and moan about.
