AT the moment it is being rumored that Call Of Duty 7 will be in Vietnam, or any wars within that time period (60's - 80's).

REMEMBER this is not FACT its rumored because Treyarch (unfortunately) is licensing Music from the Vietnam wars time frame.

I think Vietnam would be a VERY interesting setting... I'm skeptical about buying the game if it is made though, just because Treyarch is creating it.

What are your thoughts on it?

All i have to say is ABOUT BLOODY TIME..for Vietnam to be represented in a good war based game that is. I'd rather play Medal of Honor.

How will Cpt. Price and the S.A.S. win this one? Only time will tell.

(Sarcasm, just in case you were about to flame my lack of knowledge on the subject.)

They'd never do it. Nor do I think they should, particularly. There's more than little distinction between that and the airport level in MW2.

OT: Don't care anymore anyway. If IW having told my kind to fuck off, then Treyarch certainly will as well (assuming they played a role in the stupid decisions made, as well as Activision).

It'd certainly be interesting to see an American company recreate a war that they lost though. I know there's been a 'Nam game before but I think it was pretty shit, and subsequently ignored.

I wonder if you can play as a VC or NVA* soldier. It would be interesting to play as both sides**.

LZ X-Ray [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LZ_X-ray] should deffinatley be a level.

Hm...so, Vietnam. Yeah, I'd like another game where the USA gets its collective ass handed to it. Nah, Treyarch will probably rewrite history and show us what glorious work the Marines did over there. After all, we can't have another Terrorist Airport Massacre.

Actually, they are pretty bad. The only marginally good game they made was Ultimate Spider-Man.

Their work on the Call of Duty series was an absolute mess and I really don't understand what was going through Activisions mind putting Treyarch in charge of 2 games in the franchise.

Call of Duty 3 was shit and World at War was just a rehash of levels from Modern Warfare 1. The multiplayer wasn't better either with overpowered guns and a pretty unbalanced multiplayer. The only "redeeming" factor of World at Wars multiplayer is the Nazi Zombie thingy but hell, if you enjoy killing zombies that much you might as well just get Left 4 Dead.

Opinions differ, huh?
I like COD 3, I enjoyed World At War and I like Nazi Zombies even though Left 4 Dead is infinitely superior.
IW can't make a game every year, so I don't mind, World At War was surprisingly good by my standard.

If they do a MW2 rehash from that period with less broken spawns and fail gun balancing, it should be interesting.

Well CoD4 was just a rehash of levels from Call of Duty 1 & 2.
