I think it's mad cool what you do. I used to love Digimon as a kid (just the first generation). I kinda grew out of it but i can still watch it occasionally. Keep doing what you're doing, if people find it annoying, screw 'em. This is the internet after all.

Anything to say Avatar Roku?

Roku: *Avatar state*

Well shit...

I actually have an avatar now so let's hear what Overlord Laharl has to say.

Laharl: Cracka be trippin' yo.

Yeah. Tripping and falling into a crazy pit is more like it.

Using a persona in a video is different from using a persona in a forum post. Your comparison doesn't work. Besides, one of the biggest reasons I dislike this Calumon thing is because he drove it into the ground by doing it in every single post, even when it wasn't funny or entertaining. Now if the people you listed made videos just for the sake of making videos, regardless of their humor, then I wouldn't like them either. Though again the comparison is inherently flawed since they are two very different things.
You know, I did try not posting Calumon's thoughts after I had done it a few times... but people always said...

[sub]One of MANY posts asking me about lack of Calumon on a thread[/sub]

So I did it, because if people are going to quote me, I would want them to actually talk about my views rather than them asking where Calumon is. I feel like Cory from SMPfilms on youtube. He became renowned for Sparta, his mean kitty, and people always ask, "Where's Sparta?" to him. I have been given a trend now which I have placed upon myself.

On a pleasant note, this helps keep the creative side of my brain flowing, and you know... it actually helps me by keeping that Digimon fire going. Even if it is just a candle, and Pokémon is the sun.

Your excuse is weak. You're essentially saying that the only reason you do the Calumon in every post is because some people demand it. If you want people to pay attention to your views, you should do the Calumon thing less often. What do you think people asking "Where's Calumon?" means? It means that they find the Calumon part of your post to be far more interesting than anything the real you would say. You're not going to be known for your opinions or ideas. You're going to be known as the Calumon person, and become permanently locked into that persona. I don't understand why anyone would do that to themselves.

Essentially, because of this. My Opinion is Sheeplike. I hate DRM of any kind, I find fail funny, and I love Hideo Kojima. There are like 8 million people in the world with opinions the same, or similar to mine. I stand out by having Calumon, and I think thats fine. If I did indeed stop, I would just blend back into the crowd Mr Kraken.

But I guess the main reason, which you may have overlooked in my article, is that I enjoy this. I think that doing these posts with another opinion is funny. You complained earlier that I was doing this even if it wasn't funny. Are Forum posts always meant to be funny? Really? Having a different view point, even from something as cute and innocent as Calumon, is a much better than just me posting one opinion.

Speaking of my Opinion, people do still read that. I know they also read my Calumon, but sometimes, in fact, most of the time when they quote me, they just talk to me and not Calumon. While some people may not like this, I shall continue, I go on. Eventually, it will just accepted, as what I'm doing is just over 2 months old.

Would you be happier if I made an account where it is just Calumon's thoughts? If you don't like it, you can easily ignore it, and my own opinion would be made without anyone else talking.
Bet EVERYONE thinks that is a terrible idea
Calumon: At least Jack's Persona doesn't get him to shoot himself in the head every 10 seconds. *shivers*

And why is this a problem? You shouldn't seek to stand out of the crowd if you have to do something irritating to do so.

But I guess the main reason, which you may have overlooked in my article, is that I enjoy this. I think that doing these posts with another opinion is funny. You complained earlier that I was doing this even if it wasn't funny. Are Forum posts always meant to be funny? Really? You're acting like this Calumon thing actually contributes something of value other than humor occasionally. It doesn't. Everything Calumon says is about a sentence long and usually only vaguely related to the topic at hand. I view it as a joke because that's what it has always looked like. Calumon does not offer a unique perspective or intelligent thought. It's just one big joke that you drag into every single on of your posts. If you think it is something other than that, then you would need to prove it because that is what it has always looked like to me.

From what I've seen and the way you described it earlier, it seems like Calumon is more well known than you. People don't remember you for anything but Calumon. And the only reason I have accepted this is because it's not in any violation of the forum rules, so I can't really complain about it. I wouldn't have even brought it up if you didn't decide to make an entire thread about it. That doesn't mean it is going to stop be annoying.

Would you be happier if I made an account where it is just Calumon's thoughts?
No, because I don't think the thoughts of a non-existent fictional character that are nothing but a joke belong in the forum. If there isn't a point behind it, then it shouldn't exist. You can claim that there is more this Calumon thing than humor, but I haven't seen that.

If you don't like it, you can easily ignore it, and my own opinion would be made without anyone else talking.
I do ignore it. As I said earlier, the only reason I'm talking about it is because you made a thread about it.

Oh I just figured you had a split personality thing like Smeagol/Gollum going on. It's a good thing you cleared that up.

Also Agumon and Gomamon are much more kick ass.

To be honest the whole thing just annoyed me at first, but over time I thought "Hey, if he wants to do it who am I to stop him?".
I think I know the person who're talking about who "asked" you to stop, and I wouldn't worry about him. Keep doing what you're doing.

I always found it funny since I joined the forum, its a very original way to post with both points of view and how you keep faithful to it.

Carthius: Vitor gets very attached to his digital friends too, he joined forces with me and 9 other heroes to fight the evil forces in azeroth, that, between you and me, I dont think he will hold much longer without returning to check an all of the others :p.

Me: God forbid that from happening!

Carthius: I am shocked and very offended! YOU MEAN YOU DONT CARE ABOUT US ANYMORE?! *shapeshifts into bear form and enrages*

Me: *running* Technical problems here, I catch with you guys LAAAAAAATERRRRRRR!!!!

This is one of those in-your-face annoying bits that tries to insulate itself from criticism through self-awareness. Like someone announcing he's going to punch you in the head before he does, in fact, punch you in the head. The warning doesn't soften the obnoxiousness, friend.
Do you know what obnoxious means?
The fourth or fifth definition was something about "desperately seeking attention/separation via contrived, uncreative, and repetitive idiocy".

People really can't be mad or surprised if this thread attracts some venom. He did draw attention to himself, unsolicited, yes?

Anyways, I only hate when people think outside the box if they're no good at it.
Little confused as to how this received probation. There is no specific, targeted malice in my comments. General answers and statements. Inferring that I was referencing the OP says a lot about the OP.

Can people request probation for attention whoring arrogance? Again, just a general inquiry.

Wait, seriously? You feel compelled to post as your avatar because you don't want people to be distracted from your views by the absence of your self-imposed distraction? Ug. I need to stop reading this thread before my utter disdain for narcissism gets me banned.

I'm going to join the group of people who dislike it, much for the same reason Jazoni89 has.
Jazoni89 said:
I hate to be mean or anything but lets face it... your a kid who is just borderline obbessed with digimon and quote it in all your posts. Older people in their twenties (like me) who come on this site may be driven away from the site by your odd posts and topics about digimon (which is aimed at children just as pokemon is) just saying that's all, i don't have a problem with you liking it or anything.
I understand why you like it, though. I had imaginary friends as well and I liked digimon a lot as a child but I just grew out of it quite early. I also has a dislike for people staging themselves. But by all means, do continue with your thing, it's not against the rules. Like you said, it's up to me to ignore your posts. I'm just sharing my thoughts since you did start a thread about it.

Also, what's up with all that avatar speak? It's not the rolpelaying forum, at least keep things in fi-

You know, I'm actually a little pleased that there were so many probations on this thread, since otherwise I would have missed it. And that would have been a shame, since reading a good story is always fun.

* * *

I think I actually tried something similar at one point on another forum. Didn't end well for me, but that doesn't mean you'll get the same result.

It's an interesting way to get people to remember you anyway. I kind of got the feeling I was late to the party with this, since I saw people talking about it long before I actually saw you. That sort of thing seems to happen to me a lot though, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Personally, I have no problems with the idea. I kind of like it really, since it means that sometimes you can have conversations within your posts, and that's always more interesting in my eyes then just a single viewpoint. And besides, if it can inspire creativity, getting rid of it hardly seems like a good option.

* * *

[sub]I'd do something with the Kitty Reaper here, but since I seem to alternate between that and my Bakura avatars, it may stop making sense if someone else finds this thread. I never like it when someone says something like "See my avatar for details", because unless they plan to keep said avatar permanently, it makes their post lose all meaning later on.[/sub]
