Claire saw the group beginning to wind down; setting up tents, starting a campfire, and all. While the campfire was being built, Claire took to rubbing down, feeding, and watering the horses - hers and the others. She felt ragged - the previous night's limited sleep combined with the most recent combat had seen to that. None the less - the horses needed tending to; they had worked harder then anyone today - combat included.

By the time she was done, the fire was ready and most of the tents were up; even a few fish sat roasting over the fire. Seeing no reason to make any other arrangements food wise, she broke out the last of their immediate perishables - mostly soft fruits and vegetables, and bread - and distributed them out to the group. From here on out, their meals would be made of would be hard tack, dried meat, and sour fruit. If the were lucky, they could find fresh game - though risking it in a forest protected by Ents seemed a bad idea.

Sitting down by the flames, she resolved that after eating she would check Rias's and Fromanzio's bandages, set up her tent, and sleep - in that order. Before any of this, one topic needed to be resolved. "So now that we are in a foreign land; how do we want to set up the night watch?"

"Night watch? Great idea!" said Bom, through a mouthful of fish. "I suppose we each take a couple of hours. That is to say, those still standing; Claire, William, Karen and myself. The others should rest. Who wants to go first?"

Karen

"since I'm not even a little tired, I'll take first watch" Karen said as she roasted some kinda meat over the fire on a stick.

"Suit yourself," said Bom. "Wake me up when you're done."

With that, Bom slipped straight under the canvas and onto his bed. He was snoring in a matter of minutes.

William helped Rias set up her tent, she thanked him and went to bed. William was happy to see she didn't push herself, he set up his own tent then sat at the fire. "So now that we are in a foreign land; how do we want to set up the night watch?" William had been thinking about that topic too. Before he said something Bom spoke up. "Night watch? Great idea!" Who wants to go first?" Karen reacted. "since I'm not even a little tired, I'll take first watch" Bom responded "Suit yourself, wake me up when you're done." "You can wake me up after you are done with your shift Bom." He thanked Claire for the food as he began to eat, after the meal William went into his tent checking his wound before going to sleep. Another long day awaited him tomorrow.

Fromanzio quickly set his tent up. Watch positions were being taken and Fromanzio was particularly restless during the night. Insomnia only let him get a few hours of sleep at most. That said, he was starting to wonder if he really wanted to go out and explore this particular forest. He figured he would try and sleep.

"I will take second watch."

as watch arrangements where settled, and Karen finished what she was eating "so whats the deal with the red head? does she just suck at fighting or just screw up and get nailed? she asked, with all the subtly of a hammer to the face

As William was trying to fall asleep, he heard something that got his attention. "so whats the deal with the red head? does she just suck at fighting or just screw up and get nailed?" William got out of his tent as he sat back at the fire. It would be best if he would join the conversation. Hoping he could avoid any kind of trouble between Karen and Rias, that was if Rias had heard the question. "Well up to this point Rias has fought very good, only in one of our last fights she was injured. It wasn't really her fault it just happened. So to answer your question: I think it would be fair to say she made an small error, but she usually is a good fighter." William looked at Karen, he would have to keep an eye on her. She seemed like the type that was quick to anger, and as the leader he had to make sure she wouldn't injure anybody on their team. Or endanger the mission by losing her temper.

"if it was a mistake, that's fine, so long as I'm not 'babysitting' i don't care what she dose" Karen said indifferently as she picked a bit of meat from between her teeth.

Rias

Rias was by this point, fast a sleep. the loss of blood followed by the extra activity's drained her compeletly

The silence of the morning was quickly broken by screams and roars in the distance.

Rias

Rias was already, strangely awake. she looked in the direction of the screams and Roars but thought little of it 'probably beasts fighting over territory' she thought.

she was feeling better, well enough to take her tent down and be ready for every one else when they awoke, in the mean time she was putting her thoughts on every thing that had happened to paper.

Karen

Karen was roused by the sounds, though some what slow in actually getting moving, "wha tha hell is making so much noise .... " she said, crawling out of her tent for a stretch, still in just her under garments

Claire was already awake when the roaring started. She had taken second watch; mostly to keep an eye on Fromanzio and get caught up on her missed sleep from the previous night. When she heard it, her first reaction was to form a portal to protect her from whatever was causing the disturbance.

After a few seconds, where nothing had happened, Claire closed the portal and opened another with one end at head level and another up above the tree line. looking through the portal, she tried to see what was happening; after-all, it was information that kept people alive.

Claire could see some sort of flying creatures circling over an area further down the path.

Bom's snoring came to an abrupt end at the sounds of the screaming. He blinked the sleep from his eyes and climbed out of his tent. The first thing he saw was Claire without a head.

"Ugh!?"

It took him a moment to realise that it was one of her portals at work, but by that time, he had already leapt back in surprise and fallen onto his own tent.

"Ms?! I implore you not to do that too often. I don't think I can stand the shock. What are you doing, anyway? And what's that screaming?"

Ugh!? Claire heard through her portal. She turned to look at the person before realizing her head was still in the portal; thus preventing her from seeing the speaker; Mr. Bom if the sound of the voice was any hint.

Withdrawing her head, She looked around for whatever had caused the yelp of shock, only to find herself staring at Mr. Bom as he disentangled himself from his tent. A moment later he yelled out [b/]"Ms?! I implore you not to do that too often. I don't think I can stand the shock. What are you doing, anyway? And what's that screaming?"[/b]

It took a moment for Claire to recognize the yelp had been related to her portal, giving her a small chuckle; she wondered what she looked like without her head - maybe she would use her portal later to find out. When the laughing had passed, she began to answer his questions. "Sorry about that; I didn't consider what it would look like from this end. That said, I cannot promise it will not happen again; I may need to change my perspective again in the future. As for the screaming, I cannot say. Further down the path, there are a number of flying beasts circling. They are beyond my reach and I am unfamiliar with the many creatures of this land; so I cannot tell you if they are the roarers, the screamers, or neither; though they are in the correct direction."

"let me have a look Claire" Rias said as she pushed her self up, and walked over to Claire

Karen

Karen yawned and scratched her ribs a little "uh huh .... do the taste good? I'm hungry" she said lazily, clearly not a 'morning person'

Fromanzio jumped out of bed feeling good as new. He walked out of his tent and saw some commotion and screaming and squealed. "Oh boy! Fromanzio gets to stab something! This is truly a magnificent hour!" Then he realized it might be more monkeys and walked over to Claire. "Please tell Fromanzio we aren't fighting more monkeys."
