WoW does that to me sometimes. But after buying Prototype and Assassin's Creed, I suddenly realized I was skipping meals. Those were two games that I got completely lost in.

Dragon Age for me as well, I'm over 30 hours in and the progress bar says that I am only 18% done! I haven't even bogged myself down by doing every side quest. To anyone on the fence, it is worth the buy.

Oblivion, 100% completion 6 times, that game took up far too much time.

Sanity is for those who would go mad with insanity, also, sanity is for the weak

Thats how RPGs generally work.
Yea, any good rpg will do that to you. First time it happened to me was with Phantasy Star 2, it happened with 4 as well.
I too got sucked into the Fallout 3 (and Oblivion) vortex.

What's cool is when a non-rpg does that to you. I got that way with gta San Andreas: there was just so much to do and such a big map to explore. In fact, when I go to play a gta, I go to that one rather than 4.
Other guilty parties:
gta Vice City (stories)
Dawn of War (dark Crusade)
Mario World (how many areas were in that game?)
Unreal Tournament (when I really started playing online and modding)

Bethesda are the masters of ruining my life.

Fallout 3... every bobblehead, every skill 100, every location unlocked (even Vault 87 overground... yes it's possible), every mission and DLC finished, every special unique item and weapon set up decoratively in my megaton house, and all of this done...

...

...

Three times.

KOTOR and Diablo are the biggest examples for me. I have lost entire portions of my life to playing these games.

In a word, Psychonauts.

I'm absolutely addicted to finding collectibles, and anyone who has played the game knows how many figments of imagination there are in the game... 100% completion with a 32 hr playthrough twice. On the second one, just getting the figments wasn't enough. I wanted to hear every hilarious line of dialogue in the game, so between every story mission I would scour the entire game to see if Raz would comment on it. SO WORTH IT

My other addiction is Prince of Persia. Beaten the first one 7 times, around the 5th or 6th one I had a pretty decent time too, a little over 3 hours. By now the game is just rote though. :(

Mine are definitely Left 4 Dead (maybe Left 4 Dead 2 in a short while), Mass Effect (maybe #2 as well in a while) and Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood was one as well but it eventually died off (not bad considering it is a Sonic game...although made by BioWare does help)

Does World of Warcraft count? No? Ok...

Good thing I quit that.

I would have to say Left 4 Dead with my friends. It never gets old.

Jet force Gemini got me glued to my tv screen over several hundreds hours, often i just played to kick (ant) ass and didnt save after, so my file is about 60h of playtime.

Stalker (with oblivion lost mod) takes quite a bit of my free time.

Oblivion used to be a major time waster too, until i just lost interest, but now (thanks to escapist and some research) i found that the the mod i use has been updated for some time without me noticing, and a few new mods that seems interesting has come out/caught my interest...

Played and beated Super Metroid so many times i just lost count, and yet the game remains fun, and i still play it every now and then.
