metaknight: he's just a kirby clone, seriesly he looks exactly like him under the mask
sonic: he really doesn't add anything to the game, he's just blue and stupid plus he's a sega character wtf?
zerosuit samus: all she is is pure sex-appeal nothing more nothing less
luigi: honestly, he's been a mario clone from the start and he needs to go especially since they want to make him gay now
mr. staurn: yea i know he's not really a character, but GOD DAMN he's a worthless item, what game is he even supposed to from?

well that's just my 2 cents

How on earth is Metaknight a Kirby clone? The only thing remotely similar about them is that they can both fly. Looking kind of like someone else does not make them a clone.

I'd kind of agree with ZS Samus. While she is basically just there for fanservice, she does handle differently enough that I'm willing to overlook it.

Luigi really isn't much of a Mario clone. While some of their B moves are similar, they still handle pretty differently, and have a lot of unique abilities.

Oh, and Mr. Saturn is from the EarthBound series, which you could have figured out by looking at his trophy.

Personally, I think it's good that a character like Pit got in, because Kid Icarus got far too little recognition. Granted, it wasn't a masterpiece, but it didn't suck, and with today's gaming releases, that's got to count for something.

I'm surprised I didn't see more posts about Golden Sun. R.O.B., Lucario, and/or Toon Link (take your pick) should definitely have been out in favor of Isaac actually being a playable character, rather than an assist trophy, which is a dubious honor. And crucify me if you will, but they should have brought Mewtwo back.

Let's be brutally honest...those of us who cared were expecting Ganondorf to bring his sword to the party this time. Instead, he received a huge nerf which was largely undeserved. Better that he be taken out of the game with the way he plays now.

I think Falco should have gone, and been replaced with a Wolf with a truly different move set. The only holdover should have been the blaster, and exactly like they have it now in brawl. Instead, they made him a less awesome fox clone with a stupid version of the landmaster (totally should have done a flyby with Wolfen similar to Dragoon Parts).

Gannondorf should have had his sword (he's supposed to be a master swordsman, not just a guy with purple attacks), with his A-smash attacks as purple energy instead.

Jiggalypuff stays for the easy punching bag status. Pikachu can stay because it's an original, and I can respect that. Lucario? There is NO reason to have him. He is a pathetic attempt to pretend they didn't take out Mewtwo (who totally should have been an assist with Phywave), who shouldn't have been in melee anyway. Pokemon Trainer, I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand, he is three people in one, and all three are your basic Donkey Kong style characters (easy to use spam attacks). On the other hand, they have some pretty tactical advantages. Up in the air on that vote.

Toon Link is another attempt to revive the errant mistake that was Young Link. Again, if they give him a move set and weapons, I could forgive it. He even has the SAME freaking Final Smash. If they made these characters unique, I would have no complaints.

In these popular targets defense (despite the fact that I agree with most points) I'll just say this:

1.) Wolf: He's slower and he hurts more, but yes, the Fox Trio, although their "minor" move set is different, their special and FS moves could use some major changes, but they aren't THAT similiar...ok yeah they are but go easy on wolf, he isn't as much of a clone as Falco is.

2.) Jigglypuff: Seriously, why does everyone hate Jigglypuff? Everyone just wants to embrace the genocide of jiggly's or something, I see nothing wrong with this character other than the fact that the voice is annoying.

3.) R.O.B.: I agree he does kind of a suck, but I'm surprised that they made that piece of plastic even have a set of moves in the first place.

4.) Olimar: Are you guys afraid of change or just don't like it when something different is applied in a game? Damn, he's a really good character, what is everyone's beef with him? That you can't randomly smash [random direction + A or B, and for the Cube controller users, maybe some C stick Taps] and win instantly?

5.) PKMN Trainer: Yeah, there is a poke-overload in this, but come on, it's a clever idea, and each of those pokes can clearly hold their own.

6.) Ice Climbers: The dynamic duo, protect and be protected, if you look out for your buddy, they will look out for you, but most people fail at this because they want to be able to run around smashing A and B - only to realize that the pink climber died because you were too much of a dick and only cared about yourself. Also, stop hating them because you don't know what game they are from, damn, people are just too prejudice with this shit, open your fucking minds a little - this isn't a popularity contest.

7.) Toon Link: OK Hard to argue this one, but I have noticed that to compensate for his size, his sword does more damage (hence it's glowing) - also, it's cool having those cell shading effects in game.

8.) Lucas: He's more Psychic and Less Physical, and his only "clones" are his specials and a few other moves.

My list of Those Asshat Characters that don't belong in Brawl
1) Snake: Whats the point of having a stealth based charcter who can't use firearms, knife people, or knock them out with CQC and give him gay explosive and a jump attack that great for not falling of, but sucks for attacking?

2) Marth: Dont know who he was (until I looked him up on wikipedia and found out he was from fire emblem which like Yahtzee would say about online play, I dont give a shit about) and his attacks are to slow and he looks like a fuckin girl.

3) Olimar: Attacks suck.
I actually felt the same way about Snake for a while, but then I got past the whole "Must fit in perfectly with the game he's from" thing and started playing him. He's actually a lot of fun if you're not completely preoccupied with the fact that he's not slitting throats. Also, many, many characters have recovery moves that aren't for attacking.

I'll ignore the slight on Fire Emblem, because I actually agree with your assessment of Marth's play style now. They nerfed the things that were good about him, and buffed the things that were bad about him, so now he's just average, like Mario with a sword.

Olimar's attacks are actually some of the strongest in the game. He's just a lot harder to use since he doesn't attack anything without Pikmin. While a little off-putting, that makes him different, which is precisely what Brawl needs.

I personally wish the Smash Bros series would finally lay down and die. Someone earlier, commenting on sonic, said anything from Sega felt cheep and B-Rated, which doesn't belong in smash bros, but honestly Smash Bros in and of itself feels cheep and B-Rated. The fighting system feels hacked together, and is just taped up a bit on each iteration. The graphics are great, but it takes more than that for a game. Plus any game where, at default, I can do 300% damage to someone and they not be dead has issues in my opinion anyhow. Smash Bros feels like the original was a quick title to make some money between major releases that somehow got popular on its own, and they have been scrambling to recover the system and manage a reasonable fighting game out of it, but have yet to reach that point.

OK Even though you posted this like, 8 times or something, and yet I still have a hard time understanding what you are talking about on a few points, (btw, he CAN knock them out with CQC, you have to grab them) you do realize that it would be extremely hard to fit in snake any other way because of the rating system, right?
