As a Scottish Christian I see no problem with this film.

At this stage I would like to point out that it's just a minority of over zealous Christian extremists that give the rest of us a bad name.
I hate fundamentalists. Going around ruining everything for everyone else. I mean, I'm a Catholic who believes God used an evolutionary process for creation, and you wouldn't believe how much I get flamed in real lie by those extremist jerks.

I laugh derisively at people who slam down on the theory of evolution as being a load of crap that's full of holes, yet I can destroy 90% of pro-Christian arguments on almost any subject by simply stating "circular logic" at them.
thats the sad thing. some of them learn science just to debunk it.

Sigh, can this topic be locked? All I see this going is to anti-American bullshit. I know there is more then 39% of people who believe in evolution here. It's probably just some asshole in power pulling facts out of his ass. Or the .uk I see in there could be someone who hates America pulling numbers.

Now why aren't we talking about the second quote. I mean at least we know thats what that person said, because he said it. I mean wow Darwin to Hitler... It's just like saying Jesus's teachings lead to the ten crusades.....OH WAIT!

And here in the UK we've got Charles Darwin on our money. :3
Yes, and that's a good thing. America constantly gets on my nerves yet this doesn't surprise me. We're talking about a country that refuses to teach evolution in schools despite overwhelming scientific proof and evidence that evolution is fact. No wonder only 39% of the country believes in evolution when they won't even teach it. Here in the UK we teach evolution in science lessons and divine creation in religious studies, and keep them seperate. If we want to debate them there are opportunities to do so. Why can't the US look at both sides of the argument instead of ignoring logic for fantasy?

And I say all this as a Christian who believes in science, as well.

Taking a class in Christian apologetics at a Southern Baptist church, the crazy earth is 6000-8000 years old kind.I wanna see how much of it is circular logic or otherwise ignorance.

I mean really, when I had biology, they had a sticker saying "This may include controversial material:The theory of evolution." I nearly threw the book at a window, but opted instead to just slam it on my desk.

Don't worry though, America is winning.
7/10 people supposedly never come back to the church.
The Tea Party protests are an example, just old people/ignorant young people losing their grip on America, scared that we'll shift to a UHC system like the rest of the first world, scared that their myths are being discredited, scared that's racism isn't alright anymore.
We'll catch up, hopefully.

Why is it that America is so hypocritical? The people who are essentially blaming Darwin for the Nazi atrocities are probably the same people who want Obama's healthcare reforms to fail, which I consider indirect murder.

I truly feel sorry for Americans who face-palm every time something like this happens.
No, you're misunderstanding the issue. Darwin was an insane Nazi who cloned dragons and Obama is actually trying to heal the poor!

I do not take the creation story literally. God created the Universe and everything in it in six days. That could very well be the case, however the bible also says a day in heaven lasts a thousand years on Earth. So that could mean God started the big bang and allowed the Universe to form that way. There is also the fact Genesis 2 is a more in depth description of the creation of man. There are also mentions in Genesis of other people and nations besides the ones that came from Adam and Eve.

As a Christian, it is not important to me HOW I got here, what matters (and should matter to everyone else) is what we do WHILE we are here. The point is we will never know for sure until we can actually ask God.

Darwin's theory of species adapting to their environments to survive is true. Like how humanity created dogs. Plants have changed over the years as well I think. The world is constantly changing and evolving. Yet that is part of life, the strong survive and addapt to their environment or face extinction.
now why can't all christians be level headed like you. also genisis2? whats that? did the bible have a sequel? or is this in the "Apocryther" or something. can i read it on the internet?

I'm sure Hitler was religious and not an Atheist. I remember watching movies at schools where on Public buildings they had Jesus on crucifix on the doors with the sign ?No Jews allowed? under it.

Like or loath Darwin's theory, it changed the world and his story deserves to be told.

Jesus that's sad. I honstly find it hard to believe there still exist people who can think of creation as valid science (believe what you want, just don't try to prove it)
3 Words my friend
PROOF DENIES FAITH...
Even creationists don't believe it (Just Joking I know they do) ...
The purest essence of science is finding the truth by refuting previous evidence until it can be proved to you, you prove something not because you believe in it but because you want to know the hows, whos, whys, whens and whatfors of the said subject.
Issac Newton "theorised" that there was a force on earth that kept us here and on the ground, after some deep thought and a serving of fruit, he experimented on his theory and discovered that gravity actually existed.

but anyways...
Cool if you don't want to see a movie don't see it, don't ruin the fun for everyone else who doesn't share your view.
Personally, if it comes out here in Aus, I will watch it, I believe it could be a cool film.

[small]Disclaimer: I do not condone or condemn anyone's religous choice or opinion. I just wish to express my own. GLHF...[/small]
