Hoodie = Generic term for young person wearing one.
Cannibals!
No you fool! Not in the literal sense!

Now you put the image of a skinned chav being worn by another one in my brain, mmm... Burberry...

I think the main way to pick out a chav is their body language, they seem to have a certain way of walking, kind of trying to fill up as much space as possible. My town's full of chav's but, luckily they're the variety that are all talk, a good way to deal with them is to look them in the eye as they walk past, they normally back down.

I like to be the first person to point out that Chavs are white people who want to be Rude boys. Chavs are harmless most the ones in are school get bullied anyway, rude boys are actually dangerous.

what planet are you living on exactly? Chavs are anything but harmless. Most carry a knife with them everywhere.

Basically chavs are the sum of the universe end of story. Anyone who thinks chavs are NOT one of the major causes of societies downfall is a sympathiser and should be shot in the face with the rest of their chav buddies.

a basic animal kingdom comparison is this:

Chavs = hyenas

Weak on their own but deadly in packs. They have no honor, no shame, and generally no balls unless they outnumber you 5 to one. They are cowards and morons and have zero style or fashion sense. We should round up every single one and treat them to some high voltage EST, that'll straighten the little gits out.

A British bloke here from London. Most of the observations above are true on appearance and bad atittude but something in the chavs defence
is it that some of the hatred has been developed by the media especially right wing papers like the daily mail. They were once the children of a proud working class here in the uk, but margaret thatcher closed all the factories so leaving an older generation out of work. Which then
closed most of the amenities and clubs in the area, so there was no money and no jobs, which created a working class with no work so they signed on (social) and now we have 3rd generation all on the dole. And then we get arrogant do gooders calling them scum, so everyone else does, so they belive it and give you what you want.

I am not saying they dont help themselves and in alot of cases they thrive on the confrontation, but it has been a bad deal for them in the uk.

And sadly people are quick to name call, greats like John lennon and michael caine, would have been chavs of their own day.

The thing I despise most about England is the amount of trouble making drunks, I like to throw my predudice at skinheads rather than kids in hoods. Kids in hoods never bothered me skinheads did.
Exactly! They are both getting highly mixed up and confused at the moment I think!

Chavs and Hoddies are completely different. Anyone could be called a hoddie, just because they wear... a hoddie. Fuck I'm a bloody Hoodie, but no way am I a Chav.

Chav used to mean someone who wear Burberry pretty much head to toe. Now, it's the word used to described someone of a poor background, no education, lives on a council estate, their house is paid for by the state, they're abusive, aggressive, violent thugs who have no regards for people or the law.

Of course, this is just a sweeping generalisation. some days, I'm actually a Chav, because I wear Nike tracksuit bottoms with my Nike trainers, oh! lets not forget my hoodie, too!

I live in the UK and i haven't heard the stereotype "hoodies" in a long time, it was mainly because chavs sported a fashion for always wearing their hoody up, that's kinda passed here, idk about other parts in the UK (I live near Leeds) But yes, chavs usually always do wear, trainers, jogging gear, climbing gear (sometimes, mainly just the jacket though) hoodies (with the hood down though) and other stuff i can't be bothered mentioning.

Also, the girls ALWAYS nearly cake on the makeup and ***** alot. As for anything else but fashion, they do act.. well, like a-holes, i'm always usually being insulted, along with my friends and other people who don't look like them (including old people) smash public property (bus stands, trashcans, windows, cars) and do get in lots of fights, drink cider alot etc etc.

I've seen this too many times to count and i've only lived here 2 years, thankfully, i don't live next door or even in the same neighbourhood as them. Of course, you can't always stereotype them, i've known lovely people who dress up in similar clothes and makeup because they're afraid of being unatcepted.
