Also, He repaid his debt to society...
why is every one so keen on treating him like a no name criminal even after he did his time?
I find it indescribably sad that you think one can ever repay or repair the damage caused by rape. To pass it off so casually... 'Oh but he has made it up. Let him live a normal life.' Had he not taken from another what can never be returned; harmed another in a way that can never heal; if he had not acted like a plague infested wild dog, then perhaps one could be forgiven.
Rape is a crime that never leaves the victim. So to should it never leave the rapist, as their life is made more difficult for it. In that maybe we can find respite.
I hope your appalling attitude is caused not by arrogance or cold, callous indifference, but by simple disconnection -- that you nor anyone you care for has never had to experience the crime.
The love of my life was raped several times through out her childhood and teenage years. Infact, many people in my life are survivors of rape and sexual assault in varing degrees. but it isn't a disconnection to humanity or a callous indiffrence which makes me say this, it is justice.
something i have learn to dislike, and find it used so much so by individuals so emotionally biased about the subject, is applying the title 'victim'. It implies that they are weak, that they can not defend themselves, and that they should be given special concessions because they where taken advantage of. No individual i know of that has been raped ever acknowledges themselves as being the 'victim', infact my girlfriend becomes rather violent towards people that call her that.
the greatest thing most of these individuals ask for is not for the attackers suffering, not for their death, but for justice to be met. For the world to see what they did and for them to pay for their crimes.
As such, he did something wrong... he acknowledged it and stood up to it.
he was punished accordingly and repaid his debt to society.
to continually treat him as criminal is just wrong.
