So, because an incredibly rare neurological disorder was triggered a full 10 days after a flu shot you'll take your chances with never being vaccinated against a disease that kills an average of 41,400 a year in the United States alone?
Chances are he won't need it for a long time anyway. There are simple things one can do to help boost their immunity. The intake of Vitamin C and D, not causing any undue stress (like from, say, watching the news) and regular engagement in sexual activity (once or twice a week) can all contribute immunity boosts.

I don't believe it, mainly because I have a small amount of medical knowledge, and something like this seems impossible.

(To me, at least)

Though I didn't laugh...so...

Anyways. If this is true, it's very tragic. It's just...tragic? What other word is there?
i dont believe it either, generally if something fucks your co-ordination, it fucks it universally. this is some bullshit prank that managed to make news

I have slight doubts.
Oh, I will feel some slight bit of sympathy if this is true and all, but it seems almost.. comical in the way that she is portraying it.
Or maybe that's just what I picked up.

Any vaccination has side effects, often with a vast unlikely hood of being affected, the mere fact that this woman may or may not be experiencing some sort of serious side effects is negligible when viewed in a much broader light. While that is insensitive, I have a further opinion which is drastically more insensitive. At least she was planning on being a cheerleader and not someone who would do something potentially useful for humanity with their life. How many more people do we need to stand/dance around and look pretty, really? If this affliction had hit a savant or highly intelligent person in their respective field of interest I would be significantly more empathetic. In this case, I really do not care at all.

USUALLY people don't have reactions to flu shots, but, in the rare case someone does have a reaction, there are some weird side effects. Just don't listen to people who say that flu shots don't work. They're idiots.

It really doesn't seem like she needed to fake this to get publicity. She is quite attractive and I'm sure if she's a decent cheerleader she would be able to find a team without resorting to this. I find it unlikely that faking this is in any way beneficial to her. That being said, it is a rather peculiar malady. I assume the doctors have tried doing brain scans or MRIs when she was talking or walking to see if there's a noticeable reaction. But the problem may be too localized to show up.

I wonder if she's tried walking with crutches. The motion is different from walking so she may be able to do it more easily.

This exactly. Something like this would've been all over the news pretty much everywhere if it was real.
It was on FOX a week ago.
So yeah....
The link Rottenborough provided showed a clip from the O'Reilly Factor with a doctor who said it was all in her head. She couldn't help it, but it was a psychological cause, not a biological one. Soooo... since Fox said it wasn't caused by the flu shot, then that means it was. Right Condor???

Cred to Rottenborough for that link. It pretty much ends the thread. If you think Fox News is ok, you'll believe the doctor's analysis. If you think Fox News should be called Faux News, you should fear the flu shot. After all, even if she had an underlying medical condition she'd be fine if she never got that flu shot to push her over the edge. Right?

Personally, I have a good enough immune system I skip flu shots. It leaves more for the elderly and the young who need them more than I.

Am I a bad person for laughing? A lot?
No, not really.

I just think I'll laugh harder when the other side effects pop up in about two years.

Hypersalivation, cannibalism, slurred speech, delayed reaction time, staggering gait...
At least you'll be able to run away really easily when she starts on the cannibalism...

Oh wait, she runs normally. We're screwed.

Wait, what?
I have no idea why I wrote what I did anyway, I had something going and then blanked out, and completely forgot about this post until now.
And I don't think I've ever had a flu shot.

I don't know about you guys, but after the whole balloon boy fiasco I can't help but feel this is fake. As if I wasn't jaded enough before, hearing the story about the balloon and all that made it much worse.

I mean, if this is legit and she's got issues, I hope she can overcome it and hope she gets better soon. Otherwise, I can't help but feel this is just some elaborate ploy on her part to get on television.
