No, I have no plans in taking part. I never really got the idea of raising awareness instead of say, making a donation or volunteering.

I chose Dr Rockso the rock and roll clown, he does cocaine.
Why did i pick him? well A) I was drunk yesterday and saw everyone else doing it and thought, fuck it why not.
And B) I thought it was pretty damn horrible to exclude cartoons that weren't for kids so screw you and your discrimination.

...so yeah I didnt really take part in it seriously because it made no sense

Also a friend of mine put it better, "if you want to help do something about it actually donate to the NSPCC"

Usually when I read some of the stuff you put I tend to disagree with you're saying, but in this case you hit the nail on the head.

This is who I used. Only two people actually knew who he was. Makes me sad.

Also, I didn't even know this was for a charity. I just figured "Hey, here's a chance to be goofy with my profile pic." :p
Nosedive Flashblade, god bless you mister.

At first i had Jerry as in Tom & Jerry, but then i changed it to Dee Dee from Dexter's Laboratory :)

I like that this has started because i think it does make people aware of the NSPPC and also my facebook has kept me smiling for a couple of days because of all the characters i had forgotten and the memories the photos are bringing back :)

I love this! I'm waiting for a brave warrior to use one of the cartoons from SuperBad.

Don't pretend like you don't know.

I'm not taking part because I don't care. I hate children.

I refuse to get involved. The NSPCC doesn't need fucking publicity. It is the most famous child protection agency around.
All this crap is just people showing off. "Look what a good person I am, check it out guys. I care."

Yes, you care plenty enough to change your Facebook profile picture, but not enough to actually do something practical. Gosh we are so fucking impressed with you.

Anyone who is not like this simply has no fucking idea what is going on and are joining in for the sake of joining in. Nobody truly gives a flying fuck about child abuse. This whole exercise is completely pointless and ineffectual.

Donate some money if you really care. Charity should be anonymous.
Yeah, I was going to post something similar but I actually read the O.P..

However, I did say something similar to one of my friends when I heard about this.

"Though I do have to question how this is going to in anyway help against the violence. "We're campaigning against child abuse by putting pictures up YAY".. Not sure if the mother/father kicking the shit out of their kids is really going to give a shit.

I certainly wouldn't. Perhaps people should look for a more effective means of stopping the violence as I don't honestly think this will work."

Though I did change my profile picture, mainly because it seemed a pretty cool thing to do, I get to put a cartoon up and not look a twat.

I don't think it'll do fuck-all to prevent child abuse, but I changed my profile picture to Screwy Squirrel. Normally I blow off stupid Facebook "awareness campaigns", but c'mon. It's Screwy Squirrel!

I read the OP, but clearly my opinion is important enough to post regardless.
CLEARLY.

But yeah, that is precisely my point. If anything, this campaign is going to remind them they haven't beaten their kids in the last five minutes and they should remedy that.
I am annoyed at the false concern more than anything else, though. It makes me sick.

Going to reiterate this here and in the OP.

THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT THE CHARITY OR THE SUCCESS RATE OF A FACEBOOK CAMPAIGN.

This thread is asking what picture you would choose, all other data was provided for context. Please do not start arguing about the NSPCC, or acting elitist because you aren't participating. This isn't even about the participation. You want to complain, please start your own thread.

Little known fact is that the voice who played ducky was murdered by her own abusive father. Just a bit of triva

OT: changed both my name and picture to Mufasa from The Lion King
