Creepiest goddamn thing ever. Considering how paranoid this country can get concerning things like pedophilia and sexual assault, you'd think we'd ban things like this, or at least tone them down, or something.

Its honestly a bit disturbing. If you can find a documentary on the ones they do in Texas, you want to see some people who should have never had children....

Any time a parent tries to live through their kid is completely wrong, now of cousre if the child truly wishes to do it thats fine...thats rarely the case though.
Yeah, I've seen those kids and you're right, when the parent tries to live through their kid, a lot of crazy stuff happens.
These child beauty things are just wrong. All kids are beautiful, let's just say that so we don't make are our kids look like cheap hookers before they're even legal?
Mmk? Thanks.

It's is incredibly wrong.
I once saw a clip (censored, thankfully) on TV where a man was talking to another man, and mentioned how he had gotten his 8 year old breast implants.
Now, this might not be true, but i wouldnt be terribly surprised if it were.

There you go, fixed that for you.

Seriously though, I disagree completely with beauty pageants in general. Things like at a carnival or fair where they have the 'Carnival Queen', fine. I have a friend who was a carnival queen for her local summer carnival last year, and that's in the UK. But a fully blown beauty pageant? It's wrong and exploitative, especially when children are involved. Adults doing it is bad enough, but children? Too close to child abuse/possible paedophilia (I mean, swimwear round? In a children's pageant?) for my liking.

I hate child beauty pageants. No, honestly hate them. If you're over the age of eighteen and want to participate in one, fine, it's your choice and I wont stop you. But really, where do these people get off on parading their own children, many of which are certainly not old enough to make decisions for themselves, around like the whores they themselves wish they could be?

I hate it. An eight year old girl is in one of the most important developmental stages of her life. The damage to self esteem and morality is incredible and should not be taken lightly.

The only time I've found it acceptable to live through a child is academically. My parents both had a pretty bad education (left school at 16, never were encouraged to go to uni or get a good job) and now they're getting me to do really well, especially my dad. It gets hard at times, but unlike beauty pageants I realise that this will actually get me somewhere and I will one day be able to thanks my parents for that.

Sadly, I can't imagine those girls will be able to do the same.

Ok, lets get a bunch of young girls together, and have only ONE winner. lets play this out people:

Winner: 'I'm pretty and your all ugly'
Not winners will be insecure about image and how they look for the rest of there childhood.

There wrong, just like children and realitly tv such of american factor or whatever its called.

Pitiful mothers trying to live vicariously through their exploited children to give potential predators more material for their sickening sexualized child photo collections, all while managing to feed developing minds the idea that for a girl looks are everything.

What isn't wrong about any of that?

Oh sure let's get them into that whole Cosmopolitan elitist lifestyle early. A lifestyle of eating disorders, drug addiction, and inferiority complexes. Yeah, that's the kind of thing you really want for your kid.

That sentence was made of undeniable win. I agree completely.
