How do you know that?poncho14 said:Eh well it is a pretty weird religon but sure why not wear a full pirate costume? Ninjas get to wear full ninja costumes to school.
Well, that wasn't my intention when I wrote that, but I gave it some thought, and this kids a prick. I sincerely doubt he seriously wants to dress as a pirate his whole life, and that he believes in a flying spaghetti monster. I also don't think this school was at fault, since puswhateverism doesn't have NEARLY enough enough followers to be considered a legitimate religion.Eoin Livingston said:Was that a jab or an excuse to quote?dudeman0001 said:Your words are as empty as your soul!Lekonua said:Perhaps the same could be said of all religions.will1182 said:You can't just make up your own religion and expect people to heed to your beliefs without question.

I fail to see the difference...Jedisolo75 said:Are you serious? It's a made up religion, nobody really believes in it, the kid was being an ass hat and got punished for it, it's not like taking away a muslim girls burka.Jark212 said:Not any stupider then the other religions I herd of...
It's the same as suspending a girl because she wore a Burka to school...AndyFromMonday said:They said they suspended him because of his outfit, not because of his religion. His outfit is part of his religion, therefor if they are not discriminating against his religion he should be allowed to come in a pirate costume at school because of his religion.
Which would teenagers pay attention to, advanced theories on the formation of the culture of Classical Han China or the kid in a pirate suit?SuperFriendBFG said:So just because someone dresses oddly, he should be suspended? That argument doesn't hold up either. If for example someone from another country that had a completely differing dressing style that was rather flamboyant; should he not be allowed to wear attire from his home country? That's discrimination right there.
These issues will resurface if ever we encounter intelligent life from another planet as well, who are we to prevent them from wearing what they wear? Just because *you* or *other people* think it's inappropriate or distracting doesn't mean he can't wear it.
I lol'd when you called me a bigot. You're right, I am a bigot. A big one. I hate black people too. And I can't stand those durn homosexuals. All because I don't think a kid should be able to wear a pirate costume to school.Nomad said:First of all, if you get distracted from your schoolwork by someone's style of clothing, then you seriously just need a blindfold. Second, no, it is not more distracting. It is equally distracting. You consider a burka acceptable because it's part of a more established world religion. Which means that by not accepting the pirate attire, you're not only discriminating against a religion... You're discriminating against a minority, making you a double bigot.Flying-Emu said:I'm sorry, are you honestly saying that a burka is more distracting than a kid dressed like Captain-fucking-Morgan?
So..then I guess those Romans were ignorant. I don't really see how that's relevant. :\Monkeyman8 said:How many people have to believe something before it's "legitimate". more importantly how can you honestly encourage religious discrimination because not enough people believe in something? it would've been like the Romans refusing to allow Christianity because not enough people believed in it. (if you're historically illiterate you'll invariably point out that the Romans did in fact persecute Christians, and I'll point out that this was well after Christianity became "a legitimate religion")dudeman0001 said:Well, that wasn't my intention when I wrote that, but I gave it some thought, and this kids a prick. Seriously people, I know you guys aren't religous but this obviously doesn't hold the same ground as things like christianity and judism.
I agree with part 1.MusicalFreedom said:what I think is, ban all religious attire from schools. good decision.

That doesn't make it not beer. You just said it TASTED however you wanted it, that still makes me not want to drink it.Void(null) said:I can answer this one. The Beer is magical and will taste like anything you want it to taste like, it could taste like a Strawberry milkshake, or a nice cup of tea or even your favorite paint thinner, so it will always be the perfect drink to sate your desire for a drink at that moment.Dusty Pancakes said:What about the people who DON'T drink beer?
