It's pretty stupid. If you've got a uniform for school, then you wear it. If I said I needed to wear jeans, plimsolls and a polo shirt to school because it was part of my religion of coolism then no one would see it as controversy, would they?

It's getting dull now anyway, especially after the thread about that "Jedi".

Uh...... i think the school did a good thing i mean who the hell goes to school dressed as a pirate?
I think you just made my brain fall over.

This kid is awesome. In every way. Also, Tears, there's nothing directly wrong with wearing a pirate outfit.

May the great Spaghetti Monster smite them with his many noodly appendges.

How dare they violate his rights? I say that we hang them with noodles!
Or put them in a giant ravioli.

By this logic, if I supported the nazi party I should not get suspended for wearing the arm thing with the symbol to school.
No because Nazism isn't a religion and it's offensive

Come now, nobody here honestly thinks this kid believes in the FSM.
He just did this to fuck with people.
I'm all for free expression but there are limits.
What, if I decide my religion says I must run around naked, only covered in green paint except for an Indiana Jones-hat, that would suddenly make it right?
Wearing a pirate outfit is bullshit and he's just trying to annoy people.
A real atheist, a person of conviction, wouldn't act that childish.
I get the point of the FSM but all it is, is a little thought experiment that's meant to get religious folks to rethink their position.

I thought it could be a viable religion until I read that they worship the "Flying Spahghetti Monster". You can't just make up your own religion and expect people to heed to your beliefs without question.
Sure like how Raptor Jesus said "Come extinct with me." and his T-Rex's followed. >_>, i do find it strange how the Bible says that though. You wouldn't follow some random guy saying "Come with me.", you can't blame the Jew's for killing him really, if he exsisted.

I'm Athiest btw.

I'm going to be one of the minority on this thread I think and just call this kid idiotic and move on.

Perhaps the same could be said of all religions.

They were all made up by somebody.

What defines a religion?
because I could make a religion where I have to do whatever I want and if I'm told to do something, I can't do it because of my religion.

Edot: Jesus, I probably got ninja'd more times than I can be bothered to see

It's a political belief.
Still offensive
Fine but I find women having to dress in those full body things because of the muslim religion offensive so they shouldn't be allowed to do it......by your logic.
Why not
