Umbra turned to face Aeon, regarding him curiously as a hand shifted to form a blade. This was apparently just meant as insurance as the colossus made now offensive moves.

"It seems you know me far too well, brother, been running around the time stream again?"

he called in response, a broad grin on what passed for his face as the shade of one of the crumbling buildings shrouding his base form once again, a few copies of himself forming out of the time colossus' sight and beginning to scout the city through shadows, just in case Umbra needed to make a quick retreat.

"It seems you know me quite well yourself" Aeon chuckled in response, though he was mostly amused by the blade Umbra had formed. "Tell me though, have I earned some sort of reputation for war-mongering? I can rarely recall whether things I've done are in your perceived past or future, but Gurrex attacked as soon as he knew it was me and you yourself seem rather wary..."

Aeon shook his head and looked over to where Gurrex and the Earthfather were talking. fighting had not broken out yet but who knew how long that would last. "I'm almost worried about what would happen were I to go over there. To be attacked by the Earthfather is a troublesome thing indeed."

The sky churned, the bloody clouds twirling down to the ground. The mass of cloud met the ground near the seaward side of the city, the funnel thickened until it was as wide at the bottom as it was at the top then slowed. The world went quiet, all the wind stopped, only the sound of creaking buildings and the deep booming of moving earth up in the earthfathers realm. The silence remained for a minute or two, but then was all of sudden broken, a huge shudder emanated from the centre of the pillar of cloud, the whole earth shook, every bit of dust and sand was dislodged from the ground. Moments later the pillar erupted with a mighty boom sending the bloody energy shooting through the cities sending two of the nearest buildings toppling, below the now dispersed pillar the ground cracked leaving glowing red light streaming out.

Stonder was amazed by this energy, he started walking down from the mountain top his feet leaving scorch marks from his lightning on the ground. He walked towards the crack that was left by the pillar, ignoring the other colossi as he walked through the city, this must be what we were brought here for he thought to himself

Umbra shook his head as the blade reshaped into another hand "No reputation. I simply felt the need for caution after watching you send Gurrex packing." He said, shifting into a more casual stance before having to charge forward to avoid pieces of the crumbling building, a task made more difficult by the shockwave the pillar had released.

Gurrex felt an innate need to bury his face within his palms, but could not for his unusual shape, and would not so that he would avoid having to explain the meaning of the expression to his fellow Colossus.

"Earthfather, stop. You embarrass yourself with this wariness. I assure you my desire for war is within your own mind in its entirety. I attacked Aeon when I recognized the trap he had begun to lay around me. He is a trickster, and if I turned my back to him to flee he would have struck the first blow himself."

Gurrex stopped to watch the rising of the pillar and the great crack it left behind. He was not so breathtaken, though, and returned to what he was saying before.

"I have come here seeking peace, and yet you spurn me, brother, even as you detail your dream of peace.

Aeon watched curiously as the pillar sprung up out of the earth. This world seemed to be falling apart with no ruler to keep it all together. "Perhaps you are right to be wary of me, Umbra." Aeon turned and pointed his sword at the colossus.

Slowly, he lowered it as he continued to speak. "I care nothing for this world, if it should destroy itself I can simply live on in the past. And I of all colossi know that to rule it is a fleeting thing. But what of you? This world needs a ruler to hold it together. Will you foolishly cling to the notion of peace while everything crumbles around you? Or will you fight to protect the planet? We seem to have landed in quite a tricky situation eh?"

"What else can I do?" said the Earthfather saddly, "Even with words you seek to harm me, but there is no more need for speech. Will you support our peace, or will you continue to fight?"

Umbra sneered slightly "Aeon. Lower your sword, if you please. I have no need to fight with you but that doesn't mean I won't take on a challenger. I have no desire for the planet to be destroyed but I am nowhere near powerful enough to rule for very long if I should take over. My intention Is to fight for my allies. Earthfather desires peace and has the ability to enforce it. I believe there Is a chance for Order to be restored through him. Dreth and Stonder are the ones that concern me." He explained before turning his full attention to the colossus, allowing his doppelgängers to freeze for the moment.

"If I can't count you as an ally I'd still prefer to avoid making an enemy of you. Make your choice, brother."

Dreth continued his slog towards where the red lightning had struck. His movements were not quick, but they continued at a steady pace, and with his size he was making good time. He watched as another form rose into the air, this one obviously a colossus. It was not of an obvious element though, seemed to be visible more by the affect it was having on the area around it. This would be interesting to meet a colossus more similar to him, one not linked to a physical element.

With that "mountain" being such an obvious landmark, perhaps others will have been drawn to it as well.

Figuring that for now he might as well see if there were others about, Dreth altered his course so that he would arrive near the huge earth creature. Before arriving though the sky split again, this time near the sea and not with lightning. The display was just another sign that something was most definitely wrong. He still wasn't sure what was causing it though, so he continued on stopping when he was close to the two colossi.

V frowned as the world around him swiftly descended into chaos. They were not in a simple battlefield. He knew that but he had no way of knowing if the others did. A deep feeling of dread had settled over his body hours ago and he had found himself unable to shake it no matter how hard he tried.

I?m not afraid of the others. I know what they are capable of and I can adjust accordingly. But these events?they are an unknown quantity. I need to figure out the full extent of it before I make any bold moves.

The fox?s pace began to wane as he approached the skeleton of one of the few remaining cities. It had recently been hit by the dark energy that emanated from that pillar of the damned. He moved silently and slowly, unsure if he was to meet any of the other colossi or if something else would stand in his path.

As he walked, he muttered a simple blessing:

?May my tongue remain silver, my step remain quick, and my flame burn bright and hot.

He had spoken those words many times before and fortune had almost always smiled on him. Hopefully this pattern would not be broken today.

Aeon sighed and shook his head upon hearing Umbra's words. "How lamentable... So rather than be the master of your own fate, you'll put all your hopes and faith in the hands of another? Well, I suppose it's no surprise that the master of shadows would be no more than a mere shadow himself... If you are so insistent on your ways, then I suppose I'll leave you be. For now anyways."

Aeon lifted his sword up and brought it to rest on his shoulder before turning his back on Umbra and starting to walk away. He couldn't resist turning back slightly and flashing the colossus a grin though. "Be wary around the Earthfather, brother. He's a big one and you never know when he might accidentally step on you."

"Oh, my brother." Gurrex said, disappointed. "It seems your skull is no thinner than the rest of your skin. I have just told you I am here in support of peace, and still you ask me whether I have come in search of peace."

The Earthfather's voice had dropped to a low rumble like a landslide on the upper slopes, "Hypocracy" he grated, "yours are the words with double meaning, the shifting story, and the false morality. You came seeking a war of words, but if you truly desire peace, you will leave now. Go, make peace with Aeon; then I can believe you"

"Take care, brother. Even you cannot survive for long without allies." Umbra called in response as he began to make his way out of the city and toward the towering form of earthfather, a slight smirk on his face at the Colossus' comments

We shall see how Earthfather fares. If things go poorly I just might be returning for my dear brother's head. He thought to himself, his dark nature manifesting itself momentarily

"Dearest little brother." Gurrex said in a pleading tone. Not so much for his own sake, but the sort of tone an older sibling would take to convince their younger sibling that they are being silly about something. "What you ask is something you know fully well I cannot do. Aeon began that feud when he sought to kill me in a trap. I was the one that broke off the conflict when I clearly had the upper hand. If Aeon came to see peace with me, then that might be a logical situation."

As the noise and wind from the pillar settles, and the red cracks in the earth dim an eerie silence spread over the landscape once again.

The wind shudders and a faint light glows from the crater, and oh so softly a series of whispered words echoes across the land.

"I have seen the future,
a black, hopeless cause.
I am almost sure,
that life is lost,

for it is a frozen wasteland,
covered with death.
Disease ridden people,
crawling for breath.

All terror is struck,
no hero is seen,
everywhere there lurks sin,
tainted souls with no seam.

Everyone is infected with hate,
the skies ruled out by darkness.
Wars fueling the state,
families experience sadness.

The future is grim,
creatures of darkness rule,
all lustful for blood,
they leave their mark, those sorrowful fools.

Covered in frost,
all hope is lost.
No light to be seen,
even the sole wind is mean.

So save the future,
change today,
spread love and respect,
and toss the old ways."

The whispers stopped and the light died away and yet again the storm brewed, red sparks dancing through the clouds forming satanic shadows over the sky.

No,no,no, I will not throw away my chance at power. This must just be a echo through time, I mean because of Aeon this could just be the voice of some sort of human poet talking to someone about the war that destroyed everything. Yes this is much more likely, Stonder thought to himself as he heard the voice, he then looked at the sky, there was lightning yet again, the storm clouds on Stonder's body started becoming more violent 'who ever is doing this why can't you use someone else's element' Stonder yelled at the sky, his voice booming across the land like thunder, he then realised what he did and started looking for somewhere to hide.

Aeon frowned as he stared at the light coming from near the pillar and listened to the disembodied voice. "Spread love and peace...? Perhaps that was another colossi. Certainly had a similar mindset as the rest of them. Bit lacking in subtlety though."

Regardless of whom had been speaking, investigating the source of these mysterious phenomena seemed more productive to Aeon than dealing with his brethren had been thus far. At the very least, he would likely find another colossus there which would hardly be a waste. Having made up his mind, Aeon began to walk towards the pillar.

"If you cannot make peace with Aeon, what hope have you of ruling?" ssked the Earthfather, "You may be our elder, but you know that you will never unite the elementals. They will not follow you, and if you fight one of us, we will band together against you."

He paused, then continued slowly, picking his words with care. He did not want to upset his older brother, and this would be a hard subject to broach with the Proud Colossus of Force. "

"If you want peace, there is only one way to avoid bloodshed. Submit to me and support my rule; I will bring together the elementals, and together we can save this world."

Regarding the 'submit' idea: I imagine this as some sort of mental linking, in which you promise your support. It won't kill you, and maybe you could lie, but it will (theoretically) take you out of the running for individual power.

@Clown: What do you think? I guess I need your approval...
