Umbra was awoken by two thunderous booms, the first by a streak of red lightning, the second from somewhere off in the city.

"It seems the battles have begun." He murmured to himself and rose, looking to the city as plumes of dust rose, then to the towering earthfather.

"Watch fight with colossi I don't care for, chat with Earthfather. Watch fight with colossi I don't care for, chat with earth father...yeah: chat with Earthfather" He said to himself, taking shape once more and flitting between the shadows of the trees, allowing him to travel somewhat faster, heading towards the mountain that was the ancient Colossus

As another explosion roared in the distance, the Earthfather's voice was melancholy, a like the rumble of thunder in distant valleys. "Asleep, the world fell into chaos. Awakened, by instinct we prepare for war."

He paused, then said, "If I can help it, I will allow no war. Will you two aid me in keeping the peace?"

As the water colossus appeared, a broad grin spread across V?s face. Although there was seemingly a difference in their elemental affiliations V had always respected Amphitrite?s peaceful was and calm demeanor. He didn?t always agree with her ways but he had always been able to see the merit in her convictions.

?It?s good to see you again sister. I?m just sorry that the occasion couldn?t be more uplifting.?

The sounds of chaos filled the lands below. The fox?s head cocked subtly as he took in the noise. It seemed as though it had already begun.

So be it.

?Earthfather, if you ever require my aid, just ask. I would rather not engage any of the others directly but I will if the situation requires it.?

"Thank you, little spark." rumbled the Earthfather, "Now go, and find our siblings. See what they think, and warn them of my decision" As he spoke, he lowered his hand to the crag on which V had stood.

Meanwhile he spoke quietly to Amphitrite, vibrating the stone on which her form flowed to create a sound within her body. "It has been a long time, my dear. Do you too feel the need for new life in this world?"

V nodded in understanding to the hulking colossus and leapt from his hand. His body gracefully soared through the air like a comet dashing across the sky. When his feet touched the ground he sped off into the distance to search for others of his kind.

As he moved further along his eyes narrowed into slits and his thoughts began to drift to the coming weeks.

I have made a powerful ally today. I just hope I will be able to work my craft without too much interference from him or any of the others.

Now...who should I seek out next? So many choices. So many possibilities.

The sounds of brewing conflict rumbled in the distance. Perhaps it wasn?t wise to move too closely to it. No point in being removed prematurely because of a petty skirmish.

V adjusted his bearing and began moving north as quickly and silently as he could muster. Better to see the others before they could see him.

The sword of Aeon cut through Gurrex's form as if it were just mist. A deep, booming, otherworldly roar filled the air as Gurrex reacted to the pain. But as soon as it was past the colossus reformed. That was more painful than anything I have felt in a long, long time. But he will learn why no one is foolish enough to fight me toe-to-toe.

Gurrex spun on his heel and delivered a powerful punch toward Aeon's "jaw". Those who knew Gurrex knew that not avoiding one of his blows was one of the worst experiences one could go through.

Aeon grinned at the satisfying roar of pain. As he prepared for his next strike, suddenly Gurrex's fist was coming towards his jaw. Oops... Too close and too fast to get out of the way. Aeon had no choice but to throw his arms up in front of his face to absorb at least some of the blow. It helped, but only a little. The force of the blow lifted Aeon off the ground and sent him flying out of the hole they were in. He hit the streets with a loud crash and slowly got to his feet. "Colossus of Force indeed..."

Now that he was back above ground, Aeon noticed the sky looked much more ominous than before. And then the ruins of his wonderful clock tower caught his eye. "After I'm done here, I will find the one responsible and make them pay... " He declared with a growl. Then he turned back to the hole he had just come through and prepared for Gurrex to pursue him by creating a barrier of sorts. If Gurrex tried to come back up through that hole he would find himself in an area where time was drastically slowed down. Trying to fight Gurrex blow for blow would be foolish and Aeon did not intend to make the same mistake twice.

As Dreth moved through the outskirts of the city and into the wilds surrounding it, the storm overhead began to grow in intensity. In the distance a crimson lightning bolt struck somewhere to the left of where Dreth was heading. The storm had not seemed normal even before the bolt, but now it was obvious that simple weather was not causing it. Figuring that perhaps it was an indicator of where other beings like him were gathered, Dreth changed his course now to head where the lightning had struck.

The lightning bolt was not the only thing in the distance that Dreth had noticed though. A great silhouette could be seen in the distance, bigger than anything Dreth had ever seen before. When the lightning bolt temporarily illuminated it, it seemed to be made of nothing other than parts of the earth itself. This could not be a mountain though, it must be a colossus, most likely of earth or rock.

A being that huge? Could anything take that down? Well, all things fall and even the mightiest mountain is worn away. We shall see how it fairs. Dreth thought as he continued to make his way to where the bolt from the unnatural storm had struck.

Gurrex grinned as he saw Aeon fly away from his fist. THAT is Force, little one. Learn its feel. He had enough sense to know not to pursue him directly, that would result in falling directly into his trap. The trap he would certainly set for him.

So instead he jumped, high into the air as the earth shook from the effort. He tried to find Aeon below, but all he saw in the distance was a vast being of earth and stone. The Earthfather himself had awoken.

Could it really be he has already broken his trance? I had best cut off the fight while he is within sight; he was never one for conflict.

"I am sorry, worthy foe." Gurrex said in a booming voice to Aeon as his body began to vibrate. "I must cut our battle short... while I bid greetings to family."

In a spurt of growth, Gurrex became his most massive form yet again, the earth crumbling to dust around him as he did so. He turned to face the Earthfather, far less intimidating in size now, and began to approach him.

"It is the reason why we wake. I will stand with you, Earthfather, as I have in the past. I do not wish for this world to be torn asunder just because the colossi cannot settle this peacefully."

She perched on his shoulder, looking out over the land, and then back to the sea. How long had it been since she had taken a large form and moved across the land? She didn't like to move over the continents unless she carried a lot of the ocean with her. When she decided she had seen enough land, she simply left the water there, to serve as a lake or to grow a forest. She always made it back to the sea...

Aeon couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Gurrex stomp off towards the Earthfather. "This isn't like a family reunion you know... But I suppose I can wait. I have all the time in the world after all."

Having no desire to join the colossi flocking to the mighty Earthfather, they had just met in the time he had come from before this after all, Aeon walked over to the ruins of his once mighty clock-tower and examined them. "Melted? So... Lightning, or fire possibly." Aeon sighed, "I don't even feel like rebuilding this anymore... So where to next?" Aeon walked off in search of more of his fellow colossi, hoping his next encounter would be more intersting.

Umbra had halted in his tracks when he spotted Gurrex lumbering towards earthfather, indecision on his face. Earthfather had to have spotted the colossus, right? Besides: He wouldn't be able to do anything to help as long as the sun's rays were illuminating the landscape. He finally decided to head back towards the city since there he would have some shaded areas to fight in if he should run into Aeon.

"It is for us," replied the Jotun in a murmur like shifting gravel, "but not for all our kind. Already they are fighting, and now here comes our brother of Force seeking my company. If he would do battle, you might be safer to retreat and gather your strength for one of such size."

The Earthfather turned to face the new colossus, moving slowly but purposefully. "Gurrex" he boomed, his voice crossing the gap between them, "Why do you come to me in your warring form? Are you capable of nothing but violence?"

Stonder stood atop the mountains as he saw a storm forming and a great red lightning flash strike down a clock tower What is this a storm that is not me, something is bitterly wrong with the state of the world. One of us must take control and stop this, and that one shall be me

he noticed earthfather, who he mistook for another mountain. He watched him talking between other colossi If they form an alliance I will never be able able to take both earhfather and Amphitrite He thought to himself.

Out of the blue gurrex appeared as he took on his massive form he watched gurrex approaching earthfather If they fight that would leave most likely only one of the big three left standing I shouldn't have too much of a problem backstabbing the third one He thought to himself. he then sat down in order to watch what was going to happen.

"Earthfather." Gurrex said admiringly, a thin smile on his disturbingly blank, scratchy face. "You are grand in size, and nearly as old as I. I wish to look at you as an equal when we speak; eye to eye."

He extended a hand for the Earthfather to shake, a habit he had picked up from watching humans for so long. "I am only here to discuss the state of the realm, and to catch up with my brother."

"Well, well if it isn't Umbra..." Aeon called out as he saw the shadow colossus entering the ruined city. "Didn't expect to see you out in the sun like this. Trying to find a little shade?" That was the most logical reason after all. Umbra wasn't capable of melting the clock-tower, so he would be spared Aeon's wrath today if he so chose it. But after what had happened with Gurrex, Aeon made sure to put up a time void in front of himself, just to be on the safe side.

Amphitrite nodded, but before she could retreat Gurrex was close. Retreating now would just leave her defenseless. If she needed she could leave the water on Jotun and return her consciousness to the sea, but she wanted to listen to the new colossus. Instead she settled her form into a small lake and waited. Only her eyes glimmered in the water.

He's almost as tall as the Earthfather... almost ten times as me right now... I hope nothing goes wrong.

The Earthfather did not respond to the hand, knowing little of humans and caring less. But instead the vast boulder that served as a head split to reveal a cavern ringed with diamond. The Jotun smiled, then broke into a laugh like an avalanche.

"So you think you can trick Old Hill Bones that easily?" he boomed, "I'll need to sleep far longer before you can fool me, Gurex. Your "discussions" have made enough noise already; you have only war on your mind."

"But do you truly want this fight? You are the most powerful agressor of our family, but my endurance knows no equal, and my elemental siblings stand beside me. Alone, you stand a chance, but against all three your survival is in jeopardy"

"Choose now, cousin; leave this place, or abandon your war-form and speak to me of peace"

Gurrex frowned as the Earthfather made his mandate. With a great cracking noise, the earth below Gurrex splintered, and a great spire rose out of it, its peak reaching near-eye level with the Earthfather. On it stood Gurrex in his normal form. While his massive jaw and teeth gave him a look that a human would view as perpetual anger, his fellow colossi could read his more subtle aspects. He looked hurt, and greatly insulted.

"We will talk peace, brother, but first a lesson. You say your endurance has no equal? I say you have no concept of the word endurance. Tell me, Earthfather, what gives your earth shape? What makes the flame's flicker stay near where it began? What makes the tides flow in and out? Force plays its hand in all reality, and without it all that is would unravel. I have carried this burden for as long as I have been. Remember that."

Gurrex swept his gaze across the other colossi gathered, before returning to look at their leader. "So you push for peace, but how will you go about making it happen? Not all share your vision, and they will not relent by your request. Even the world itself has drawn us here for our final battle."

"I am not surprised you are already fighting; your arrogance is astounding. It has been an age since we were One, and none of us can reach the power we once had, but if you wish such a comparison, you must be honest. Maybe your strength knows no bounds, but neither does youroad, and I know you will tire before me."

"And peace?" The Earthfather shrugged his shoulders slowly, "It has been done before, and I will do it again. Already three Colossi stand together for order, and each chaotic by definition stands alone."

"But what, you wonder, if you were to gain a similar group of allies, all ready to defeat us? This too suits me; I desire not to rule but for there to be a ruler, and for there to be peace as I sow new life"

"There will be peace. Maybe not under my rule, but it must happen. Accept this, or know us as foes"
