Name: Fain

Element: Life. Sheer, unadulterated life force is Fain's realm, of both animal and plant form

Physical description: Before the bombs, fell, when the world teemed with life, Fain was a vast being, a forest of a thousand trees that throbbed to a single heartbeat, a mind that swam the seas in a thousand scaled bodies, a worldwide flock of every avian that ever lived.
The bombs wiped out near all his beings, and now he is much reduced, taking usually the form of a huge man (though only by human standards). The body of this man flows and rolls with sheer vitality, and reshapes itself for each challenge he faces.

History: Fain's speed of thought is inversely proportional to his size; when he ruled over the world, and breathed the air through every lung and saw from every eye, he thought great thoughts like glaciers. The humans knew of him, just , but they called him instinct and mocked him as an outdated trait of evolution.

He was barely aware of nuclear weapons before the war came, and while the War passed almost to fast to see, the aftermath left him both hugely weakened and suddenly very, very conscious of slow passing of time. Now, as the other colossi walk the earth again, he too must stride forth and hope that his new found brains will help him match others brawn

Bio: Fain's personality embodies the idea of instinct. While he is capable of being reasonable, charming, witty and sophisticated, he will, when required, devolve into a simple, but brutally effective beast. For in embodying the forces of evolution, Fain shows a truth that humans never realized; that intelligence is simply a tool to be used, and discarded when no longer needed.

Fighting style: As evolution incarnate, Fain's fighting style is never stable. He approaches a problem with every method available, then once an effective method is found, employs every variety of it until it is successful. In practice, this means fighting a whirlwind of shifting flesh that finds your every weakness, and then only hits it harder
It should be noted that fain will subsume every piece of biomass he finds, in order to restore his former power, and will grow in size with every meal until he can match his competitors.

Name: Gurrex

Element: Force

Realm: Gurrex is and was everywhere in all of creation, wherever force was applied in any form.

Physical Form: Gurrex varies in form between three preferred appearances, but all have several common traits. All forms appear to not truly be there, instead a sort of outlined figure from the tremendous pressure being applied to his body. All forms have glowing yellow "eyes". All forms have varying degrees of effect on the environment around them by their mere presence

At his smallest he is the size of a human, with the correct proportions of an adult male. But the pressure in this form is so immense the ground begins to shake as soon as he takes this form, and a substance that appears to be the shimmer in the air from intense heat radiates for several feet off of his body. He has a fully developed, normal looking face in this form, though, and he tends to take it when communicating with lesser beings.

The medium sized form is not what a human would call medium. It is easily thirty feet high, and extremely peculiar in shape. It is blocky, almost mechanical in form, and stubby. While its arms are of normal length, its legs are half the size one would expect for a creature its size, and it has no head to speak of. Instead its massive yellow eyes and extremely large toothy mouth are where its torso should be. The pressure here is still enormous but it only takes effect when he moves, but with much greater force. He prefers this form when fighting, and when talking with other Colossi.

His final form is one he only takes when he is attempting intimidation, or something that requires him to be of massive size. He grows to approximately 300 feet high, and his entire body becomes as black as night, and almost scratchy, as if static were preventing his form from being entirely there. He has long, spindly limbs in this form and his eyes take up most of his face save for a small mouth at the bottom. This lanky form is still by far his most powerful, and devastating earthquakes have a tendency to erupt just by him being there. His steps leave craters dozens of feet deep, and his arm motions create bone-breaking gusts of wind. It is only a form to take when the devastation he creates is preferable to whatever he is stopping.

Fighting Style: Gurrex is a firm believer in the power of strength and will. This ties in, luckily, to his own abilities. His blows apply tremendous pressure to whatever he touches, capable of flattening most non-Colossi opponents in the first punch. Lesser mortals can be immobilized just by coming near his more powerful forms. In his medium form he tends to prefer melee combat, pummeling his enemies with repeated punches and shouts that impact them with tremendous force. In his largest form he leans more toward a nuking strategy, merely focusing all of his power in a variety of forms all on one general area, and destroying everything within it.

History: Gurrex has forever played the role of the great preserver, devoting his time to holding all of reality together. From the bonds that hold the tiniest of atoms together to the hurricanes that devastate coasts Gurrex has worked to keep the balance of nature. He had little love for the wildlife, thinking of them as nearly another part of the balance that he did love, to preserve as working cogs.

But the humans were something different altogether. While animals applied force of their own, humans were on another level entirely, massively upsetting the balance that had been in nature for all time. And yet, Gurrex could not hate them. He was fascinated with the ferocity and speed with which they tackled life, and all that they could accomplish in their tragically short lives. With every blow of a hammer, or raising of a barn he was with them, watching their progress with admiration. Then, with the most force they had ever produced, Gurrex helped the humans destroy themselves.

Bio: Gurrex is a very lonely entity, who feels conflicted that his own realm is that which holds together great evil as well as good. He wishes he could release all of his bonds, but holds them together out of necessity, for without him everything would unravel, including the few things he holds dear. He sees promise in this new group of creatures, and intends to guide them well, so that they will not be destroyed as the humans were.
accepted.

Hmmm, good, but the powers could use a little tweaking, being able to heal yourself wherever there is biomass is not overpowered, but I have a feeling it will be annoying to people trying to fight you.

Name: Icarian

Element: Cold

Physical description: Icarian does not look terribly imposing at first glance, appearing to be a large human man, perhaps seven feet, with stark-white hair and palely glowing blue eyes, clad in gray metal and holding a sword of crystal. However, this is merely an avatar of Icarian's true nature, a projection. Icarian's true form is a gigantic, demonic-looking squid, unimaginably enormous, buried under a mile of ice at the south pole.

History: In ancient times, before the rise of men, Icarian reigned over much of the world, holding it in the grip of his glaciers. The march of the ice seemed relentless, Icarian's power unstoppable until a group of Colossi unified against him and marched upon his estates in the north pole. There they did battle for seven years, until Icarian was pierced with their spears and blades and could battle no more. He fell, shattering the sheet of ice and plunging into the oceans. It was believed that Icarian had been destroyed.

In truth, Icarian lived on, although his injuries left him helpless for many millennia, all the while a cap of ice formed around his body, a great tomb for the sleeping God. He would not awake for twenty thousand years, and when he awoke, he saw the desolation that had visited the world in his absence, the pain, the horror, and the rage burned in his heart.

Bio: Icarian is a gentle soul who simply wishes to see the world unsullied, and to him the best way to protect the world is to stop it, to cover the world in a sheet of ice for all eternity, where it will be safe. However, the attempt to kill him and his subsequent imprisonment have left him bitter and angry.

Fighting Style/Powers: Icarian's presence is most often announced by a sudden chill in the air, water beginning to ice, frost accumulating, snowfall, hail and sleet. Normally, he is content to take the slow road, his glaciers slowly covering the world, but when he is inevitably attacked, he moves with surprising swiftness, animating the ice into an army while he begins to separate the ice entombing his true form. Once he is freed of his tomb, he focuses on fighting physically, striking with his many tentacles. The tentacles are quite deadly, so cold they will burn flesh on a strike and if they wrap around, will begin seeping the warmth right out of your body.
CTHULHU FTAGH'N!

Name: Ahan Da'Asaph'En

Element: Crime and Lies, now a remnant of a bygone age

Realm: The city that was once London, now rocky ruins in the frozen north, surrounded by mountains, but the ruins of any great human civ will do.

Fighting Style/Powers: Ahan fights dirty with any weapon he comes into contact with. He is a master of distraction who can trick beings and collossi into seeing him where he is not. He can also cause paranoia in his foes, though those who know what they are dealing with are unlikely to be affected. He can vanish into shadows and often brakes the laws of physics or persuades them to aid him (note that this power is fairly limited, and that he can't, say, cause gravity to implode a huge area of land, but he can make it forget about him for a few moments, just long enough to get a good jump).

Physical form: A large humanoid, roughly 12 feet tall, with brown clay skin an a clean-shaven face, a handsome smile and a chip on his left eyebrow. He is always seen munching on a cigar and wearing a black top-hat, a brown trenchcoat, a blue pinstripe suit and a weapon, changing depending on the environment, holstered in his coat.

Bio: Ahan always liked humans, greedy and selfish, and so he took on a nature that was always constant in humans- crime. After a brief stint as the voodoun BAron Samedi, he decided to take a break and head to Europe. He took a particular love of cons and conmen, going as far as to invent several of them, including the "violin trick" and Amway. When Humanity diverged into chaos, he fled to a place he always liked, an old, large and famous city called London, protecting it as much as he could as the last remnant of humanity, but his power was not enough and the city fell quickly under the constant bombardment. For a few years aferwards, there were still humans there, but not enough for a sustainable population, and so humanity dwindled down to nothing and Ahan became a recluse for a few years before being struck by an idea: if humanity had evolved from apes, perhaps he could create something similar from the local wildlife. He went and brought bears and wolves in from europe and concentrated on making them into new people, brining himself back into the world stage. Only time will tell what the future holds for this strange soul

Wow, I've got big people arguing over my sheet. Does Three outrank Clown cos he has a bigger post count? Or is Clown the boss cos we're in his thread?

Anyhow, Three gets what mean; sure he can heal, but he's also way more damageable than most of the others. (Giant ice-squid, thunder skeletons, the whole frakking sea?) I'm likely to get very hurt very easily, so it;s only reasonable that I be able to get up afterwards.

I'm sorry, but he doesn't really fit into the idea of a colossus, and crime isn't an element, think bigger but also more normal when it comes to your chosen element.

ok, two things, firstly I am going to accept your sheet, just pretty it up a little and play smart, second; There are no ranks on the escapist, sure there are title marks at the post count, but your post count doesn't define your rank among us, you get respected by being intelligent and friendly.

Hmmm, good, but the powers could use a little tweaking, being able to heal yourself wherever there is biomass is not overpowered, but I have a feeling it will be annoying to people trying to fight you.
He's also frigging tiny; he'll need the healing power to take a hit from the Earthfather. Anyhow, I got the idea that the biomass thing was more to get him bigger...
Wow, I've got big people arguing over my sheet. Does Three outrank Clown cos he has a bigger post count? Or is Clown the boss cos we're in his thread?

Anyhow, Three gets what mean; sure he can heal, but he's also way more damageable than most of the others. (Giant ice-squid, thunder skeletons, the whole frakking sea?) I'm likely to get very hurt very easily, so it;s only reasonable that I be able to get up afterwards.
ok, two things, firstly I am going to accept your sheet, just pretty it up a little and play smart, second; There are no ranks on the escapist, sure there are title marks at the post count, but your post count doesn't define your rank among us, you get respected by being intelligent and friendly.
Intelligent and FRIENDLYY? that doesnt really seem like what youre being right noww.....

(got your back RNA ;))

Did you just correct me on ThreeWords' nickname? Is there even such a thing as an official nickname?

They call me 3W most of the time, but some call me Words, and others call me "good-for-nothing lazy blaggard", so I reckon Three will do.

Edit: What was it you called me in the regulars? Ol' Three? I like the sound of that...

@The Clown: do be kind to the newbies, even if they are a bit lippy. You're hardly a paragon yourself...

made edits to my character sheet:
Name: Stonder

Element: thunder storms

Physical description: He is a 30feet skeleton surrounded by thunder clouds just around the bones, which become more violent as he gets angrier, around his feet there are constant lightning strikes as they are closest to the ground. His eye sockets contain balls of lightning which he uses as eyes. His voice is deep and booming, when he talks his mouth doesn?t move but lightning flashes can be seen in the clouds around his mouth area.

Fighting style/powers: he is weak physically but he is able to shoot powerful lightning blasts (a single shot not continues), if he does make physical contact he can provide thousands of minuet lightning blasts per second. One of his most powerful moves is when he grabs one of the electric balls that make up his eyes and throws it at his foe, while extremely devastating it takes a long time for the eye to grow back and therefore means his eye sight is extremely hindered after the attack. He also use a whip of lightning called thunder to fight, it?s cracking noise sounds like loud thunder and if he ties it around something it will electrocute that individual. All his powers become stronger when enraged. He doesn?t need oxygen or food to live but as long as parts of his skeleton are attached to his head or parts which end up connecting to the head is able to keep on using them, this means he can find almost anywhere. His bones are held together with powerful electrostatic bonds.

History: he remained in the skies during the times of humanity without his bones; he is and was all the thunder storms, meaning to conserve his energy for now there are no thunder storms, he hated humans for having more freedom then he had. After the fall of humanity he spent time recovering his bones so he may fight for power. He is also spending his time formulating a plan in order to be on top at the end of the war.

Bio: Stonder is hot headed and starves for power, meaning he uses both force and deception in order to achieve his goals. He starves for power now as his time looking down at man only being able to strike random spots has made him feel like he got the short straw of the colossi and now wants to rectify that. Though hot headed he is not stupid and knows that some of the colossi would crash him in a one on one fight, so he knows he needs deception in order to get the power he wants.
I used spell and grammar check so it should be fine.

Name: Ahan Da'Asaph'En

Element: souls and untruth, now a remnant of a bygone age

Physical form: A large humanoid, roughly 22 feet tall, with brown clay skin an a clean-shaven face, a handsome smile and a chip on his left eyebrow.

Only time will tell what the future holds for this strange soul

also accepted, it could still use tweaking but I'm in an unusual happy and kind mood so I'll accept it also.

<spoiler=Umbra>
Name:is quisnam addo umbra

Element:Shadow

Physical description:His size is as variable as his appearance as long as he is surrounded by his shadow however when he is unabled to generate shadows about him he is only around 10ft tall, though he wears a trench coat and hat, allowing just enough shade to hold his physical form together and allow him to shift his appearance in slight ways.

Powers/Fighting style:His is the realm of shadow. Not of night but of shadow. He can generate more shade as long as there is at least a single shadow cast. However:the more shadow he has to generate the more his energy is drained and the longer it takes him, meaning that large transformations in the daytime are almost entirely unheard of and used only in emergencies. Light--especially that of the sun--dissipates the shadows he forms around himself so he tends to use hit-and-run tactics, forming blades and other weapons through transformation as well as forming shadows into a physical form, allowing him to attack with spikes and projectiles made of shadow. When angered he has been known to make a large "shadow dome", allowing him more freedom to use his abilities for a time before the dome is dissipated.

History:His domain is not of night, but of shade. When mankind was still walking the earth he was the one who instilled fear of the dark, occasionally taking those who wandered off into the darkness within his domain. He was the inspiration for the tales of boogeymen and all manner of things that go bump in the night. Since the fall of man he has been residing in the caves and underground tunnels of the world, preying on whatever happened to merit his attention in order to amuse himself, and on rare occasions: allowing the sun to revert him to his base form so he may explore the ruined cities of man

Bio:Umbra is normally reserved, fighting only when needed and killing only when absolutely necessary. However when angered he is relentless and punishing, bordering on sadistic, and will do whatever necessary to destroy his opponent. He is, however, not a complete brute, and will retreat to fight another day if it is made apparent that a continued confrontation will cost him his life Well...whaddya' think?

Very good, although how is he supposed to attack with shadows? or does he just generally fire shadow blasts or conjure weapons etc?

Yeah pretty much. He's able to from shadows into solid forms so he can form spikes from shadows cast on the ground, change his arms into blades or other weapons, etc. etc...reckon I oughta edit the sheet to mention that...
EDIT:Edited the sheet now.

how many is that we've got now, 10ish? that should do I guess, but I don't want any drop outs this time, I want just a weeny bit of commitment on this one, if you drop out for no good reason after taking that slot I will rage at you, AT YOU!
