"Nice to meet you all." Kadence said. Her eyes widened as the bear shambled closer and stopped beside of his human partner. No one Kadence knew had a bear as a Companion so it was a novel experience to see one now. She spent a moment looking at the big creature. Garret didn't seem bothered by the bear, perhaps because of its slow gait and the lazy turn of its head. It didn't appear to be threatening. Kadence was also interesting in meeting this Tatiana. She found it odd that the Companion was off on its own. Then she reminded herself that Garret too sometimes wandered off on his own. Rarely very far from her but it did happen.

Kadence redirected her gaze back to the Lev when the man spoke again. "I wasn't sure how long the trip would be." Kadence replied. "but I've traveled enough to know that unexpected things can happen out in the wild. So once you mentioned it I knew it would be a good idea to stop by the shop." She smiled but it turned into a grimace when she shifted her feet out of habit. Immediately she changed her stance to lean more heavily on her right foot.

The tavern girl cocked her head at the random proposal. "Avi?... errr, yeah I guess," she said, slightly taken aback, she felt humbled that her traveling companions wanted to name her, yet at the same time thought it would be troublesome to respond to a different name. Its probably more troublesome for them to keep referring to a nameless girl though... she reasoned. The tavern girl looked at the map, never before had she traveled to a different town, and she wondered what it would be like. Many times she had overheard the tales of travelers in the tavern recounting their adventures to wide eyed listeners, and excitement filled her heart. The moment of ecstasy was cut short by a sharp pang in her stomach, which gurgled loudly. "I haven't eaten in two days, is there any food around here?" she asked.

"So I see..." Lev said in a slightly sarcastic tone as a grimace of pain momentarily shot over Kadence's face. "You should probably take off your shoe to take a look at that, by the way. No sense in toughing it out and worsening the damage. And from a fall like that it's most likely a swelling, strained muscle, or a common bruise, so it's not like you'll slow us down or anything. As long as you deal with it now, that is." Lev told her as he casually, almost lazily, leaned on his spear and glanced down at her foot again.

"I have some food in my backpack. I'll share some with you." Zestia searched her backpack, which was still on the ground, for some of the food she had packed. She pulled out a sandwich and gave it to Avi.

"Here you go. This should be enough for now." She smiled towards Avi.

Kadence was impressed by Lev's easy diagnosis and she tilted her head slightly at the man. "Are...you a doctor?" she asked as she looked around the immediate vicinity. She spotted a nearby rock, a small boulder, that looked sturdy enough to sit on. Deciding to take the man's advice Kadence carefully made her way over to the stone. Once there she unslung her pack and carefully placed it on the ground before sitting down. Garret had been following her movements. After his partner set down the bag he lay on the ground next to the rock.

After undoing the leather side laces of her left boot Kadence carefully took the boot off followed by a very plain cloth sock. She straightened her leg out and scowled down at the bruising that had formed on her foot.

Feeling strangely exposed and vulnerable from being away from Kadence, Pru hurried over to stand behind her friend. She was clearly uncomfortable with meeting new people. They seem nice, she tried to convince herself. And he's apparently a doctor, which would be very nice to have around.

Avi took the sandwich without a second thought, and murmured a hurried thanks as she devoured it as quick as humanly possible. Cora looked up at her, beadily eying the sandwich, which Avi continued to devour. He let out a loud 'Ark!' to remind her that he, too, was also hungry, to which she tore off the crust and handed it to the bird, who gobbled it up hungrily.

Lev sighed and hung his head slightly as he repressed the urge to facepalm as Pru hurried over to Kadence. Was he really that scary? Or maybe being nervous was just a part of her character, if so this trip could be more tiring than he had anticipated.

He looked back up at Pru, who had placed herself behind Kadence, using her to shield herself from him and Viktorya. "Pru, seriously. Why are you so afraid? It's not like we'll bite if you don't keep your distance." He shrugged before adding. "... Not all of us at the very least."

He shifted his gaze a few centimeters to the left, to look at Kadence. "And to answer you, yes, I'm a doctor. Here..." He took out a small bottle of brown glass and carefully lobbed it to Kadence. "Put some of that ointment on the bruise, it should make it less painful and both the swelling and the bruise will heal at a quicker rate." The bottle contains a greasy substance, with a mild smell of different herbs, and does not look like it was made by the apothecary in town.

Zestia chuckled. "You were pretty hungry, huh?" She then looked to Sai. "Why don't we start walking towards Meyerill now that Avi has eaten?"

The sooner, the better.

She was eager to get their journey started. Shade lay on her shoulders, watching Avi and Cora eat.

"Sounds good." Sai said standing up. Kia stood too knowing the group was going to be on their way. Sai was happy they had gotten the nameless tavern girl named, she seamed happier at least.

"Ah!" Prudence was surprised when Lev addressed her. "... I..." Now he's going to hate you! Stupid, stupid, stupid! "It's... just..." Say something already! This stuttering won't help! she argued at herself. "I... I'm just not, good, around people. Eh-especially when I don't know at all. Please don't think any less of me..."

Kadence reached out her hand and caught the bottle Lev tossed to her. After digging through her bag for one of the bandage strips she carefully removed the stopper from the bottle and peered at the contents. Her Companion stood up and leaned his head in her direction just enough to get a whiff of the herbs. Not smelling anything suspicious, Garret moved back and sat quietly while Kadence brought her left foot up to rest sideways on her right knee so she could dab some of the ointment on her foot. Since the bruised area hurt the process was slow. Garret's ears twitched at the initial startled sound Pru made and he turned his head to look back at the girl. While Kadence focused on her task she listened to Pru's awkward reply to Lev.

As Pru's response trailed off into silence Kadence finished applying the ointment and carefully replaced the cork on the bottle. She set the bottle on the ground so that she could have both hands to wrap the cloth bandage around her foot. It kept the ointment from getting on her boot and held the greasy ointment in place. After securing the cloth bandage she put her sock and boot back on. The laces of the boot she loosened so that the material wasn't pressed tight against her foot and the extra space left room for the bandage. Kadence picked up the bottle from the ground and held it in her hand.

"Let's start walking, then." Zestia said and took lead towards Meyerill. She knew somewhat the way towards it and if they would encounter anything or anyone hostile, she would be quick to draw out her daggers. Plus, she was able to blend in with the forest more so than her traveling companions.

"I beg your pardon?" said Badelin with a surprised tone "You mean you didn't had a name? My word that is ...well...truly peculiar... nevertheless, I believed you have now found one, as strange and unfounded as I might find it... so no more worries then, wright?"

He then took a few steps back from the rest and , bonding his hands together, said:

"As good as Meyerill sounds, I suggest we only stop there for supplies. I know of a possible lead further ahead of the city, in Sokolov to be exact. Colder there but at least we might get a concrete start, would we not?"

Badelin then whistled for less then a second, getting Dax's attention. The noble steed approached Badelin and allowed him to climb up on the saddle.

"I await a decision from your side" said Badelin, while mounted on Dax

Lev sighed again at her Pru's reply, "Don't push yourself, if you don't want to talk to me, then don't." He had some difficulty reading her body language, but she was apparently more than just a little frightened by him, or maybe she just didn't like him. He frowned slightly at the thought, but realized that it didn't really matter either way, to begin with they were only going to be traveling together till Meyerill. What happened next wasn't decided.

He looked over at Kadence and Garrett as she applied the ointment and bandaged it, taking note of the wolf's seemingly protective nature, and also that Kadence's first aid abilities were better than expected.

When she was done he held out his hand to take back the bottle and told her, "Good, it should take about half an hour before it reaches full effect, but it should already have lessened the pain enough for you to be walking normally again."

"Whether it's just for supplies or something more, we're stopping in Meyerill. Now, let's go." Zestia started walking with Shade on her shoulders. Avi and Sai followed her through the forest with Cora in Avi's arms and Kia walking beside Sai.

As she listed to Lev's explanation Kadence looked up at the sky to gauge how far away the 'full effect' would be. She stood up cautiously, pushing off from the rock then using it as a balance point. Kadence took one careful step and then stopped to let out a surprised 'huh' sound when she found that the man was indeed correct. The pain wasn't gone completely but it had toned down enough that it was bearable. Kadence walked normally for the remaining steps and placed the bottle in Lev's outstretched hand. "Thanks." she said with a slight smile.

Kadence walked back to her rock-seat and retrieved her bag from the ground. Garret stood up and stretched while his partner untwisted the strap of the bag and swung it over her shoulder. When everything was properly situated Kadence turned toward Pru, partially blocking the girl's line of sight to the rest of the group. Beside of Kadence the wolf finished his stretching and sat down again so that he faced Lev and the others of the group.

"Are you ready to go?" Kadence asked the girl. Garret shifted minutely and Kadence stopped gripping the strap of her bag and let her hand fall to her side. She brushed the tips of her fingers lightly over the wolf's head as she watched Pru.

Prudence smiled and nodded at Kadence, hoping that if they started walking that it would get less uncomfortable between her and Lev, and of course to get farther away from the city. Sue was even more excited though, and she flew around the four (or six) of them happily chirping. "Well, I am, but I'm not too sure about Sue," Pru said sarcastically and readjusted her pack. The bird didn't hear her, but became calmer and flew back to Pru's shoulder.

While she was still laughing quietly at Sue's rapid flight Kadence turned toward Lev and the others. She also stepped back slightly so that she wasn't blocking Pru's line of sight anymore. "We are ready to go if you...three are." she called to Lev. Realizing that they were still missing one, Kadence looked around for a few seconds and wondered how far away Lev's Companion had gone.

Lev looked quickly over at Viktorya as he packed away the bottle again, and then turned his attention back to Kadence and Pru, who asked if they were ready to hit the road. "I think we are." He said, and then added. "And don't worry about Tatiana, she'll find her way back, or we'll meet her down the road." He turned his back to them as he started walking, adjusting the strap on his satchel as he did. "She has yet to be away for more than two or three days at a time, something like homesickness I believe."

He turned to the others, the road around him still littered with people heading out on the quest, though it was starting to thin out a little, they had to be lagging behind a little after their little break. "Are you coming or not?" He asked the others briefly before resuming walking.
