Most of your arguments are related to "convenience" and "user-friendliness" both of which are easily solved with a lick of knowledge and common sense. I'll grant that just getting into PC gaming is intimidating, but spend a little time with the platform and most of your issues evaporate. You certainly are a product of the I-want-it-now generation.
Also...your arguments were true a little while ago, say 2005...but nowadays with online distribution, the entire process is a lot more streamlined and straight-forward. I find a game on steam...pay for it...go watch some T.V. and when I get back it's ready to play. Boxed games rarely have multiple discs.
I'd hate to hear what you'd think about PC gaming circa 1995.
It's funny really..PC's are trying to become consoles while consoles are trying to become do-it-all computers.
What?!? Did you just completely ignore my argument, no where in my post did I say I didn't understand how to. I said I shouldn't be forced to, playing a game is suppose to be fun, not a time consuming chore. I have the knowledge and I have the common sense to know how to
So what if I want a fun product now? If I want to get good at something I will go learn something practical like how to cook or play an instrument, if I want to have fun I will go put a disc in my console and play a game.
Online distribution is still not the major demographic in gaming, most still use discs. I do accept that steam is getting more popular however I also think strangling my internet all night isn't fun either
Okay I will go through my library of games
AoE 3- 3 discs
Mass Effect- 1
Sim City- 1
DaW 2- 2
DaW- 3 (Plus I have the expansions)
Warcraft 3- 3 (plus an expansion)
Rainbow Six Vegas- 1 but it doesn't work with the disc so I had to find a no CD crack
Installing something is not fun and is a pain in the arse to do with everyone of my games. Yet both are selling badly why the wii booms
Funny that
I'd rather not, PC gaming is bad enough as it is to me
