I think the GameCube is an awesome console. Specifically the controller; It molded perfectly to my hands. To this day, I don't understand why so many people hated it (at least where I live).
I loved the Gamecube, but I hated the controller mostly because the buttons weren't touch sensitive, you actually had to click them down to a certain point for it to even register and the C-stick was about as useful as Western European peace treaties...
It's also too small for my hands... I have large hands...<.<
Ok, you got me. Yeah, the C-stick was kinda silly (albeit it worked well in a small handful of games). I had no issues with the buttons however, and I personally love the placement of A/B/X/Y. But maybe its just my hands.

I thought the face buttons worked fine... I was mostly talking about the trigger buttons...<.<

I really like FF13.
I enjoyed KotOR 2 more than I did with KotOR 1.
I also enjoy watching Street Fighter The Movie.

I'm with you on this. Although I heard the English localization is almost as horrible as the German one of Oblivion, which might explain the lack in popularity.
The story is good (not very original, but well-executed), the dialogues are at least fitting, and occasionally actually funny, the voices are done well (I'm speaking of the German version here, which might be the original. They had the German voices of Patrick Stewart and Michael Dorn! And the guy who did German speech for Bruce WIllis was the player's voice! It did feel weird being welcomed to a village by Worf though...), the magic system is at least something different from the usual ones, and the fights feel a lot more dynamic than in most other 3D RPGs.

I also liked Windows ME. I completely skipped 98 though, so my impression might have been flawed. I never encountered any of the problems people complained about with it.

Oh, and my girlfriend hates my DVD shelf. The conversations usually go similar to this one:
"Hey, let's watch a movie, what've you got here?"
"Well... District 9, Tron, Evolution, The First Men In The Moon..."
"Anything else than SF?"
"I also have all the movies with Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill..."
"Where's the TV programme?"
I should really stock up. We already watched all the other movies...

I was going to make a joke, possibly referencing the dialogue in the game, but it hurts too much to even think about it xD

OT: The only decent feature of RDR's story is the ending, and even then I don't think it's as big a thing as people say it is. Marston is also pretty poorly written in terms of his character, not dialogue. There are perhaps 3 missions in Mexico that actually do anything with the story, yet it's the biggest section of the game. How does this happen? Well, to artificially extend the game you're sent on increasingly menial missions by people who keep telling Marston they'll find the things out later, when they're actually raping women.

1) Marston would really be scaring the shit out of them until they tell him, and even though he gets angry every time they say it he simply folds and ignores it until he does the same thing next time.

2) He's portrayed as being highly respectful of women, yet he lets a bunch of them get raped by an arse hole who keeps wasting his time.

It's not a bad story: it's fairly well acted, some of the themes are explored quite well, etc. But there's not really much to it, it's hideously paced and Marston is conflictingly written.
I found the conflicting writing of Marston fitting because he's a conflicted character. He finds it hard to leave behind his old way of life, but is desperate to stick to his new one.
Writing a conflicted character and having conflicted writing isn't the same thing.

In virtually the same sentence on numerous occasions he gets angry at one of the three Mexican guys for stalling on him, before then simply agreeing to do whatever they ask.
Touché.

I don't like games that are too open world. It actually makes me think that people would prefer a wide world full of boring quests than a linear, very high quality game. Ex. Fallout 3 vs. Uncharted 2.

And I like JRPGs, especially the older ones like Lufia 2 and Final Fantasy VI/VII.

Have you seen Spoony's vlog on Red Dead Redemption? He more or less had the same complaint (with a killer Mexican accent).

I agree with you a 100%. I didn't really feel like a bad-ass outlaw, being treated like an errand boy for necrophiliacs and scum sucking warlords.
Nope, can you link it? Googled it but didn't get it up.

...Hmpf, the link doesn't seem to be working. Anyway, this is the exact adress, if you feel like typing it in.

If you get the vlog Major Announcement, just skip to 6:00 minutes.

Yeah.... I like Tropico 2 and I don't know why. (Although I do think 1 is better but only slightly.)

I think Half-Life is dull. (Although I love watching "Mind of Freeman")

Bethesda's story telling ruins the game for me every time so far.

I play farmville sometimes and enjoy it when I do.

I love Take That.

Oh, you mean with videogames. Well, I hate basically everything Valve makes. It does not make me a very popular man of the intarwebs.

Half-life is not all it's cracked up to be.

Portal was kinda meh, not the masterpiece it was cracked up to be.

Bioshock was sorta meh.

I had an unironic blast with Stubbs the zombie: rebel without a pulse and Destroy all humans, even though I generally HATE smug, pseudo-50's settings (coughcoughbioshockandthemilkmanconspiracycoughcough).

I like Lady Gaga and Nickelback, and I can definitely stand techno and eminem.
Hype has ruined the fallout franchise for me preemptively.

Same goes for doctor who, which I honestly think sounds like "bland british man + deus ex machina(sonic screwdriver or whatever they're calling it that day)"

I dislike people who say that Star Trek is more 'realistic' than Star Wars (so you replace 'energy crystals' with tachyon-inverters...yeah...realistic.)

I dislike people who can't see things from other people's point of view and especially ones who claim that "WESTERN STUFF IS SUPERIOR FOR ALWAYS AND FOREVER BECAUSE IT'S MORE REALISTIC AND MANLY LOLOLOL!" and conversely, people who can not shut their yaps about Asian stuff because it's "SUPERAWESOMESPECIAL AND SPEAKS TO ME AS A PERSON IT REALLY GETS ME AND IT'S SYMBOLIC AND DEEP MAN!". But mostly the first, as they are often obnoxious about it and act like real hypocrites by saying that fallout/the witcher/star trek is more realistic and manly and thus worth more than anything else. Those are the people that jerk off to conan and claim that "GRAY AND BROWN = REALISM!!!!!". You want a manly manga? Go read berserk, now STFU. Why yes, I've needed to vent for a long time, why do you ask? Yes, I have issues with weeaboos too, but I get some counter-weight to them pretty much every time there's an anime con over here and they prove to be generally sweet, if a bit creepy people.

I dislike myself for a number of reasons

I despise a lot of "CLASSIC ROCK!!!" from led zeppelin to deep purple to jimi hendrix, as well as "PUNK!!!!!!", especially the sex pistols, but also the punk movement as a whole. "LET'S ESTABLISH A SUBCULTURE TO REBEL AGAINST THE ESTABLISHEMENT!".

I despise death metal, black metal, doom metal, grindcore, metalcore, noisecore, what have you.

I loathe rap.I loathe slow songs, and especially if they involve piano, acoustic guitar or the word 'ballad'

I quite dislike Hemingway and think he gets waaay too much credit for wayy too shitty work.

I was bored of The Great Gatsby by page 10.

I dislike the contemporary trend of things that are "awesome" are promoted and always have to do with sharks/dinosaurs/rocket launchers/fire/death stars/whatever.

I'm not very fond of poetry.

I hate faux-misantrhopic/nihilistic attitudes and/or people "losing faith in humanity".

I find a lot of literature lacking due to a lack of imagination/boring setting (that goes very strongly for Norwegian literature, good god I'm sick of it. I'm sure if I counted every single Norwegian book written the last century or so I'd end up with about 100 000 or so identical stories of 'a misunderstood outcast' or a 'regular joe' in boring old contemporary society. I swear they're just writing the same book over and over again.)

I hate a looot of cliches, but recognize that some cliches stem from reality and/or are necessary to construct a good plot.

I loathe movies and tv shows with a few exceptions.

I think Unreal Tournament 2004 was a better multiplayer online shooter than TF2 or MW2..

I quite enjoy the Halo franchise.

I think the metroid games are overrated.

Same for zelda, with the exception of OOT

And castlevania

I unashamedly looove pretty much any mario game to come out except for SMB3 and the sports games

I think "Freeman's mind" is pretty meh.

I think Dead Or Alive 4 (and the other games in the series for that matter, disregarding the volleyball games) is a pretty good fighting game.

I was severely disappointed with Blazblue.

I think SSB, SSBM and SSBB are the greatest nintendo games of all time. Of all time! *does best kanye west impression*.

I don't give a flying fuck about celebrities or actors or whatever.

As a writer, I loathe the typical Mary-Sue and think that writing everywhere has too much of them - games, tv shows, movies(jesus christ, do they have mary sues.), books and plays.

I think hipsters (of the kind that wear woolen caps and scarves in the summer as well as skinny jeans and ironic tees) are fucking retarded, and had I not been adverse to that word used as a swear, faggots.

I WILL pounce at you in a fanboy rage if you insult Bioware (and had they not made the Uncharted games, I'd say naughty dog too).

I think spiderman is a hundred times cooler than motherfucking batman.

I like Jack Nicholson's joker better than Heath Ledger's joker

I think The Dark Knight is an overhyped "meh" movie with a plot so contrived it could rival an episode of star trek (blimey, I've been banging a lot on Star Trek tonight, haven't I).

I despise Han Solo/Indiana Jones (nothing against harrison ford as a person) and all of bruce campbell's roles (never met him in person, but like ford, I guess he's a decent guy.)

There, I've offended the whole escapist(although I'm venting my opinions in a not-very-amiable state and as such may come off as more hostile than intended).

I haven't really had good fun with a console shooter in over 7 years.

I actually liked the Jrpg tropes in Infinite Space (well, minus the fucking grinding, of course).

I hate Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and pretty much every Valve game other than Portal.
I think that most movies made in the 60s and before are boring.
I trust IGN's reviews and previews.
I started gaming on the PS2 in 2005.
I think WoW is boring, as is Starcraft.
I didn't think the Iron Man movies were that bad.
I thoroughly enjoy the Halo games.
I bought CoD 4 for the single-player, and I might get MW2 for the same reason.
I have yet to enjoy any game made by Nintendo.
I like health regeneration, and I think that health bars need to go in a hole and die.
I have no preference for 360, PS3, or PC.
I found Just Cause 2 boring.
I don't have a problem with Trophies/Achievements.
I liked Altair more than Ezio.
I liked Wash more than Mal.
I liked about half of "Death Magnetic".
I didn't like playing Bioshock.
I have game music on my iPod.
I haven't beaten KOTOR 1 and I haven't ever played KOTOR 2.
I hate the vast majority of anything that comes out of Japan.
