I agree.

The only way to fight Jack Thompson is not to incite violence against him, but to fight on his level. Using the first amendment to criticize and even slander him.

Yes...but that would reinforce HIS steryotype that Gamers are overreactive psychopaths.

RapeLay, of course, and this Custer's Revenge thing.

Seriously, who the hell would find that game arousing? IT'S A PIXEL!

Maybe the Manhunt games. People often accuse games of being 'murder simulators' but in this case it is actually true. I think it is the fact that the entire game is built around this concept that makes it so controversial. Then again I guess you could call it art in a twisted sort of way.

On the subject of Gears of War, I didn't find the Chainsawing and exploding heads to be to bad. It wasn't like you were chainsawing every single enemy in the game. However, what for me went 'too far' in terms of blood and such was a certain level in Gears 2. People wwho have played it know what I mean. It just seemed very excessive to me, but that's my own opinion.
"I'm coughing up blood and it 'aint mine!"

"They're sinking city's with a GIANT WORM?!"

no we only do so to save ourselves from being turned into witches in his crazy salaam witch trial hes trying to go on.
PS. no games are controversial enough in the place were they were made. Example, if the rape lay game was still in japan then there would be no controversy. But it still is a sick and horrible game (Custers last stand excluded from this, it was just wrong in my book)

The reason Left n Sharpe didn't specify those parts was probably because he was trying to avoid spoilers...

I remember how Kane and Lynch got a bit of controversy with all of the profanity. Also, I met a guy at a social group thing at a church a few years back who was against ALL games, movies, music, comics, etc. that depicted killing. He was vehemently opposed to RTSs because "They glorify the mass killings of thousands of people and war".

personally: Red Alert 2: 2,399 in a mission once; Starcraft: around 2,000, I turtled and the guy kept sending marines and firebats; Sins of a Solar Empire: billions of people, If you look at the manual and realize how many people are aboard these ships and then figure that each pop. point is around 1 million people, the toll adds up in hundred planet systems.

Back on topic: what was that OLD game that had live action videos of someone sneaking into a house and you had to set off traps to get him/them?

Off topic: Clockwork Orange game would rule as you have guessed by my icon.

*stands up*

....I'll get the matches.
I don't know, that seems a little too... pleasant. Kick him in the balls and make sure the gasoline gets in his eyes. I volunteer my foot for the kicking.

But then there's a chance the cliff might end up being over the sea, so the fire would go out.
He'd run out of oxygen sooner or later though, being stuck in a sack.
But wouldn't the sack burn up in the fire? Which would let him escape?
If he did escape, then he'd eventually drown, or hopefully get eaten by a shark.
Then the shark would die from toxins T.T

You gotta love how Jack talks about games making gamers violent, everyone says it's BS (because it is), but when you make a thread mentioning him, the first post is about how they want to KILL him.

Nah, it just demonstrates the average gamer's ability to separate cathartic fantasy violence from real violence.
