Coolest Alien race in video games

Oh, it's impossible to choose just one! I'd have to say (deep breathe) the protoss, zerg, alien, predator, the predalien from AVP2, the locust, Dead Space necromorphs, General Grievous, the Area 51 Grays/Illuminati, and infected, all of the alien enimies in Area 51 Blacksite, and the Acklay(star wars episode 2 monster that attacks obi-wan).
I've always liked the concept of the Strogg from the Quake series personally, something about an alien race that's sole purpose is to seek you out, invade your planet and re-purpose your entire race as extra parts and edible paste is totally wicked in my books.
I'm going to have to go with the Bentusi. Not just any Bentusi, though, the Bentusi from Homeworld: Cataclysm. Their reaction to the Beast is simply fantastic, the nigh omnipotent race that until recently had acted as detached traders who could-not-be-messed-with-on-any-level-or-they'd-beat-the-ever-living-crap-out-of-anyone-who-attacked-them being suddenly faced with their greatest fear, not death, but the loss of cybernetic unity with their ships, made them one of the most compelling parts of Cataclysm.

That said, for an ancient biomechanical hive race, the Beast aren't too bad either.

Of course it doesn't hurt that Homeworld has always had some of the best voice acting of any game series. You have to go for quality when all of your characters are inanimate objects.

The flood in Halo has lots of potential for being mind bendingly awesome, but it never seems to happen on screen. Especially based on the dialogue in the games and the backstory.Trivun said:
