I would kill in self-defence without remorse. Even more in cold blood, but only against people I harbor genuine hatred for (like the infinite number of trolls on YouTube and school bullies)

Circumstance. Such a bendy complicated thing.

Everyone is capable.

Would I want to? Absolutely not.

Now I'm not talking about cold-blooded murder here, I'm talking about in the direst of circumstances.

Like in self-defense, or maybe someone is threatening a loved one.

Do you have it in you to end another human's life?

Personally, I think if pushed to that extreme, I could kill somebody.

What about you, fellow escapists?
No, I can't stand inflicting pain onto others.

Unless, in dire self defense, I'll throw a punch, but only if it's absolutely necessary. Otherwise, no.

Absolutely not, having to look into that persons eyes when they yell their last words, that sound would and picture would haunt me.

I thought I would have to explain my reasoning, but I don't have to because of the circumstances you posted! yay! yes, given THAT scenario, I could and probably would end another persons life, after all NO ONE on this earth deserves to live (yeah, I'm cold, sue me)

I spoke to an army buddy of mine about this. It's one of those things I know I could do, But I don't know what would happen to me. How I would feel about it and react. He said people can have a hard time dealing with it, even in self defense.

This is what I always think of when I think of killing people.

Well "direst circumstances" is a bit rich. I'm quite sure if the circumstances were dire enough even my dear old mother would kill.

And what are we talking here? Are we saying flip a switch and they die in a remote location of bludgeon them to death with a blunt object? I'd think if it was particularly tough or gory I'd just shut down, can't process it all and be unable to do anything. Happens a lot apparently, when the shit hits the fan they just go catatonic.

But if I was being attacked and I had a gun, yeah, I guess so. There's not much to think about, if it's my life or his my lower brain functions are going to make the decisions for me.

But I don't have a gun because I live in a "peaceful society" (pah!) where guns are de-facto illegal. In fact the law doesn't look to kindly on self defence either, so that's another lay of inhibition. I think I'd freak out to be brutally honest, lack the nerve to do it even if I felt justified.

99% of those who say they could would not be able to when push comes to shove. it's human nature to preserve life. armies just beat that out of you. let's look at some stats

75% of soldiers never saw the enemy in WW2 and of those 25 that did 8% fired and 5% got confirmed kills. it not as easy as a video game.

on topic. no. unless it was via a grenade/bomb

I can physically kill someone, but whether I could actually do it is another story. I could probably kill someone if they threatened my family, my life or my freedom
