I do remember going into one bookstore. It was really old and had two levels. So went to the top level, while my mum was browsing the lower one.

I'm flipping through some book of anecdotes when I hear my name being called. Naturally, I assume it was my mum. So down the stairs I go, ask my mother if she'd called me. She hadn't. In fact, she was so absorbed by the books, she didn't really care all that much if I existed or not at that point in time.

So... who was it? I still don't know.
That was probably someone calling to someone that isn't you but has the same name. That happened to me quite often when I was younger.
Yeah, nothing really creepy happens to me because when it does I stop at nothing to find an explanation for it.
Really? My name is Felicity.

Not exactly common where I live, in fact I think I've met two other Felicitys.
Well, what seems more likely? That a random stranger decided to call your name to screw with you? A ghost was haunting you? Just because you've only met 2 people with your name doesn't mean that someone who worked there or was reading there had your name, or one that sounds similar.
I'm sorry if I'm coming off as aggressive

This morning, it must have been my eyes adjusting but when I looked out the window I swore everything got orange and bright for a second, like there was a nuclear blast. I was still groggy but I for a split second was expecting to hear an explosion soon, followed by my house being ripped apart. It didn't happen of course but man.. it was weird.

No worries :)

I actually explained it to myself as a figment of my imagination, as it did happen at a time when I was developing bipolar. Nothing like a little psychosis and paranoia to spoil your day!

And while I did post this under "creepy things", that didn't mean I thought I had been contacted by ghosts or such. Sometimes, even if you know what's happening, it's still creepy.

When a guy walked into my house, opened my garbage can, took half of my trash and left. I wasn't hallucinating because half of my trash was missing.

Well, something that keeps on occurring to me. Each and every time the clock passes six, and I'm all alone at home, I keep hear the news from the television in the living room.

And each and every time I go over to see if it's turned on, It's not.
When I walk away, I still hear a slight sound from the news anchor.

IF IT'S A PRANK, I'M NOT AMUSED DAMN IT!

My friend, I believe a neighbor is watching the 6 o' clock news. And that's why you think it's your TV :)

Hmmm, well, I couldn't get to sleep one night so I decided to pull back the covers (I sleep with the covers over my face, it's just an old habit) and I swear I saw a man standing in my doorway holding something.
I just dived back underneath the covers and hid. Damn it was scary.

Also, I commonly hear creaks and bumps when I'm home alone and/or trying to sleep.

I remember one time I was listening to "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles. That was the first time I heard the secret ending portion of the song. It was night.

Also, today, I listened to "Revolution 9" by The Beatles. I then listen to it backwards. I turned down my speakers all the way, and paused the song, but for some reason, I could hear whispers coming from the speakers.
Another thing today was when I paused it, the music was still playing, I kept pressing the pause button, but it wouldn't stop. Just to let you know I find that song very unsettling, and can barely listen to 10 seconds of the thing. I felt like Paul McCarthney might jump out and eat my soul.

Also, anyone heard the song Frankie Teardrop by Suicide?
Heard it for the first time today...

In Pokemon Red/Blue, a young girl in Lavender Town asks "Do you believe in ghosts?" There's also a thing called the "Ghost Glitch" where an NPC will float over to the side without stepping, apparently hovering. When I answered "No" to her question, she replied "Haha, of course not. That white hand on your shoulder, it's not real..." She then hovered to the right for 2 steps. Unsettling, and unscripted.

More on-topic, there's a philosophical proof that every night, you die when you go to sleep and a new you comes to life the next day. To someone like me, who doesn't believe in a soul, it's a compelling argument. Some evenings, I'll lie in bed thinking about it and come to the conclusion that this proof is correct. Last time this happened, I spent 2 days huddling on the corner of my bed every night, desperately trying not to sleep.

I remember after getting ...well I wouldn't call it 'high' but I was seeing shit (I took one to many pills I swear it wasn't intentionally) I went to my restroom to wash my face, I remember getting scared as hell because my reflection was smiling at me for a split second.
Like I said though I was seeing shit.

Never had anything creepy like JulianKing's though.

I think the scariest thing to happen me on a sort of spooky, supernatural level was once when I was rather young I was walking up the stairs to bed when I just saw this... deathly white apparition of a woman with short hair and a long, flowing dress take two steps across the upper corridor then turn towards me and dissapear. It was the only time in my life I was literally frozen with fear.

The scariest thing to happen to me on a more realistic level occured when I was in Melbourne last year. I was just walking through a little arcade complex (Unfortunately not that kind of arcade, just a cute little shopping arcade with some nice stores) and all of a sudden everybody stops, becomes silent and turns around because there's this noise towards the entrance that's gradually getting louder. I turn around and after a few more seconds to my shock a middle aged woman comes in clutching at her clothes and purse telling everbody within 6 feet of her to "Fuck off" and "Go to hell" as well as her hurling insults. Needless to say I ducked into a little shop as she was approaching, it's always frightening with those sorts of people because they're truly unpredictable in the sense that you don't know if they're just going to act like they belong in an institute or if they're going to whip out a gun.

Nah, I live in a house. The neighbors can't even hear me scream my lungs out when I lose in Halo 3, little less hear my television.

... And vice versa.

The people who've played Demon's Souls will probably remeber the creepy singing woman in the jail level. Well, I think I almost ran into her while walking the dog one night.
It was like 23:30 and I was walking my usual route when I came to this appartment complex where a lot of old people life. The main entrance was obscured by bushes and such, but from it I could hear this monotonous chanting, almost identical to that of the singing woman in Demon's Souls. As you could imagine, I skedaddled out of there as fast as I could.

It was probably just some old lady rehearsing for choir or something, but it creeped the fuck out of me.

All names have been changed so my friends don't get angry at me.

We were all fourteen at the time. One afternoon, a group of five of us all to to Bob's house to play video games. We decide that afterward, we're going to go to Jack's house to sleep over. At around 10, Josh and I leave to walk to his house to get his allergy medicine, with the plan to meet at Jack's later. We set out through the dark, suburban neighborhood. We take a few wrong turns on the way to Josh's house, but realize there's a path that will take us up through some woods, out through a park, and put us right across the street from his house. We decide to take the path. As we're leaving the woods and stepping onto the field that it opens on to, we see a man in the distance. He's holding the hand or leash of something small, a child or dog. There's absolutely no noise, and the field is completely dark. All we can see is the man's silhouette, cutting off about the waist. If he's with a kid, the kid would have had to be about three, way too young to be out that late. If it was a dog, why was he walking through the park instead of on the lit sidewalks? In either case, Josh and I are both really freaked out. It's just this man with something small and living, completely silent, walking through the completely dark field around 10. We still talk about it now, a year later.
did you intentionally put the 'Bob's house... video games' in there?

Well, my former Second Language tuition teacher IS a paedophile (pedophile, to you Americans). However, nobody ever believes me when I tell them, damnit!

Seriously, I'm obliviously doing my homework and he starts running his hand up my thigh! Unfortunately, I couldn't inform my parents due to us not speaking on sexually oriented topics (excluding biology classes).

So I just slapped his hand away and icily avoided his laviscious gaze. Luckily my 2nd language classes end this year, so I won't be seeing him ever again.

No fucking way! Being completely serious, the same thing happened to me. This one time two years ago I was watching TV and in my peripheral vision there was a window and for a second I saw a face staring at me. I damn near shat my pants. I ran outside...no one there. Idk if it was the mind playing tricks or if someone really was there.
Liek OMFG!!11!

But for real, I didn't just see it in my peripheral vision, I stared at the goddamn thing for at least 10 seconds before I ran. I could make out a white face with no eyes staring blankly with it's mouth agape at me.
Holy shit! now youve freaked me out, dammit shouldnt have read this at 2am right before going to bed 0.0

I got this one. The only thing to almost make me beleive in ghosts.

The setting is a snowy night in the middle of winter in Utah at a supposedly haunted house that partially burned down. Visibility is down to about 10 or so feet in front of you. Between the thick falling snow and the complete and total darkness. We brought flashlights, but what is the fun in that?

Three of my friends (one who was in the band), his four fellow band members, and I, all showed up to take some pictures for a band (the whole reason we went, they wanted pictures for their album in a haunted house) it was going great. It started with the horses. Hear a couple of sounds, and out of the gloom comes these shapes. Turned out the land was being used as a pasture and was full of horses. After that we discovered what had to be one of the most photogenic run down houses ever. It was constructed with a large beam that ran the length of the roof. Well the main beam in the roof had fallen in during the fire in the kitchen. There was snow pouring in, with just a few beams of moon light breaking through the clouds to illuminate everything. The house looked a good hundred years old, and at the same time looked fairly new. Walking through what must have been the living room we where all startled by a creek of the door, followed by what sounded like scratching coming from behind the door. Two of the band members headed over the the door and another called me over. I was taking in the scene in the kitchen a bit longer then everyone else. I got into the room right as they where pushing the door away from the wall. I see a dark shape shoot out from behind the door and both of the guys fall on their asses. A round of "what the hell was that!" later and the bird that had been behind the door is spotted in the roof. For the remainder of the night we all had a bit of fun, taking turns scaring each other.

It's getting late, we have seen the house in it's entirety, and as we go to leave the band decides they want one last picture in front of what is left of the giant picture window. I decided to sneak out the door, creep as silently as I could through the snow, and leap up from the window grab my friend and scream. Good fun.

The unexplainable part comes later. As I left the house, and between everyone else coming and going the front steps where trampled down. But still there where several prints on the front steps, that where about the size and shape you would expect a small child's feet to be. All over. I didn't remember seeing them when I left, and for good reason. Those four prints couldn't have been there. See the trampled down snow had a good half inch of fresh snow on it. You could clearly see my prints as I left the house in the snow, and you could see the other prints on mine. As through something had walked over the tracks I made in the couple of minutes it took me to walk to the window scare my friend and walk back.

It was spooky. I know there has to be a good rational explanation, but there at the time. It really got me thinking for a few minutes that just maybe, you never really know for certain.

Onc when i woke up in the middle of the night their was a suit(just an empty suit) floating like it was on strings about 2 foot away, i Got pretty freaked out and kicked it pretty hard. Then my dog yelped. Yeh i'm not really that great at the whole waking up thing.
