Wow, this is the dumbest statement I've ever heard... I mean, good god. D&D making you a drug addict or a murderer seeking a sex change? As a D&D player I'm offended at these accusations.

-_- I mean, good god, we ALL know that the blood orgies are where it's really at. lern2research, n00b. /sarcasm

Seriously, that people even claim this anymore isn't funny. It's just sad, and not something we should even be paying attention to.

I know we must all take religion so very seriously because tradition dictates it so, but there are some things people need to get over - kind of like how we all say Scientology's complete bollocks even though it's no more illogical than any other religion - and this witchcraft thing is one of them.

Even your run-of-the-mill religious folk probably don't believe in such shit.

Oh criminy are people STILL going on about this?
This. I thought the irrational hate for D&D died out right around the time that the irrational hate for GTA picked up.

Sigh...

Stop giving these people an audience. The more traffic they get the more they feel their views are validated. You don't start a dialogue with a crazy person, you ignore them and hope that they just leave you alone.
I remember thinking the Landover Baptist Church was real. I never looked at the site proper, just their forums, so it looked like a bunch of legitimate nutjobs talking to other nutjobs. I felt so much better when I learned it was fake.

Oh yes it's always the Christians who think this way right? Bite me. Also she is crazy.
Always the crazy ones, IMO, it is kinda embarrassing to have them in our ranks, like having a nerd who claims to like football to fit in, they just ruin the point of the religion by interpreting things their own way and back it up with an offhand, out of context, quote of the Bible.

It's very simple.

They. Do. Not. Get. It.
There are crazy people, unfortunately, but at least this crazy person is pretend crazy.

Firstly, I've taken a look at the site and I genuinely think they're trolling.

Secondly, I wasn't aware that a friendly evening of me and friends coming together and saving villages from goblins and number crunching while we were at would turn me from a Catholic into a satanist.

Mazes and Monsters?

And wailing on D&D, that's SO 1980s. Even BADD (Bothered About Dungeons and Dragons) (No I'm not joking) [http://www.holysmoke.org/wb/wb0017.htm] did it with a little more style.

I'd suggest a brief play of this

The church specifically has linked DnD to Heretics ever since one man who was a murder had a wargaming collection.
They don't seem to remember that the Crusades probably caused more murder, rape and suffering than RPG's all together and ever will.
