The Sims 3... I still really quite liked it, but there was so much that could've been there and wasn't.

I kept finding myself spacing out to when I was playing the previous 2 games and had a lot of options.

The Last Remnant. The only thing Square-Enix got right was the Union Battle-system. And just barely.

Alpha Protocol.

Why was the gameplay so terrible, Obsidian? Why? Couldn't you just have ripped off Mass Effect or any given James Bond game and be happy?

If Alpha Protocol's gameplay would've been as good as that of ME2, I would've had a different GotY this year.

Alas.
Said it all.
Damn you Alpha Protocol!
I had such high hopes :'(

Fallout 3
They had something great going with the whole post-apocalyptic "World of Tomorrow" motif, but then they ruin it all with dead-end stories, boring characters, and a main plot that makes fucking sense.
Oh, and unless you win the hardware profile lottery, or play the 360 version, it will crash on you CONSTANTLY.

As it is, it's a boring, vastly overrated shooter.

um, alpha protocol was an RPG, not a glorfied cover based shooter like ME2 or an actual cover based shooter like many of the recent bond games. Stats actually matter, you actually have to think about building your character. You can't do everything well right right off the bat. These are GOOD things

Alpha Protocol.

Apart from the mission structure, gameplay, constant ambushes (don't let me be a "stealth" character if you're going to ambush me at least once EVERY FUCKING MISSION) and tonal shifts strong enough to cause a tsunami, it had potential.

JRPGs in general, Skies of Arcadia Legends stands out in my mind because it was a great story with fun characters but the game play >.< oy vey, the ship battles were funnish but it'd be more fun if I had loading times on the guns and had to evade and maneuver to avoid damage and line up shots like a real naval battle.

The Resident Evil games come to mind too, and... damn some Dinosaur survival horror game that played and looked like a half breed between jurassic park and resident evil... the concept sounded fun but dammit all those games I was wishing for the magic "make it better" button to appear.
Dino Crisis!

Hmm... I'm gonna have to say Bioshock 2. I wanted a version where you only fought the big sister once, not every level. Also, a less shit story. At least they didn't make us go back to locations from the first game...

Marvel Nemesis, I really did enjoy the game to be honest, but it just wasn't quite there. The far out camera angles really diluted the action and the roster could of been a bit more expansive. Still the fighting was interesting and furious. Could have been so much more though. I'm just dying for a full 3D Marvel fighter I guess.

Tekken 6, big time. Solid engine, Tekken looking and running better than ever before with a massive roster of characters, but no actual game to play when you get down to it. Just Tekken Force basically.

Alien vs. Predator, the new one. Oh my days, I used to love AVP2 on the PC to no end and a current gen iteration of the series could of been epic. Wasted potential right there.

I could go on and on really, I also remember wishing that every moment of GTAIV wasn't boring as fuck. Also, that I'd never purchased it in the first place. Or the strategy guide.

The Force Unleashed. It could have been sooo much better
Haha it could have been so much worse too! Have you played FU 2? Notice how I wrote that? Because that's what it feels like Lucas Arts is trying to say. Did really enjoy Force Unleashed one though, especially for the story, but the gameplay could definitely have been more boss.

FMA Brotherhood though <3

Bayonetta. Just... Bayonetta, ok? The only good thing about it was the character, and they ruined that by telling us her costume was made out of her pubes. And, yet, i desperatly tried to like it, and i wish i could have had the experience everyone else had, but i just can't.

Too Human, I feel this game lied to me, the very beginning is such fun but as the first level grinds on it just gets worse and worse so that by the time you get to the second level you feel like putting the disk through a wood chipper.

This.
So much promise and ambition and so much crap to ruin it.
It just blows my mind how they could leave in that hacking minigame. They even managed to make the controls so clunky, you´re only fighting the interface. Nobody in charge at Obsidian to say, hey let´s improve the game, by just cutting this part.
Still, you know, it's worth it just for the story.

Seriously. Not ruined. Needs a sequel.

I might go harsh on the gameplay, but, man, beating every stinking laggy mission was totally worth it for the awesome ending.
So the story is really good? Since I can get through shit gameplay for a great story, and if it is I'll pick it up when its cheap

OT: Alone in the Dark, so much ambition behind that game, but sadly it just wasnt good at all, except for the sound track.
