Wow, a /thread that I actually agree with.

Yeah, but it isn't just those 3 guys, they work for the government, killing them would just mean the government would send more men.
and Yet John kicks as* so he could easily just keep killing them. The only person anyone actually cared about that died was
the annoying lazy grandpa
so who really cares, also I would've liked them to kill my son instead
Yes, but he is also trying to give his family some peace, something he couldn't do with the whole US Government on his back.

The last game I got shot of through sheer boredom was Dark Sector. Great idea. Dull as fuck to play.

KotOR 2 for these reasons.

Also, as the story goes on, it just gets so confusing, making me even more bored

Borderlands - just couldn't really get into it, didn't help i found it a bit repetitive

Red Dead Redemption - i just found it so slow at the beginning, its probably a good game but didnt draw me in enough, that and i didnt like a single one of the characters i met

Dragon Age Origins - It's got a great story and everything and quite good gameplay, its just it drags on sooo much

First of all, regards to your title.
DAM is spelt "Damn" and "YOUR SO BORING" should be "You're so boring".
Apologies for my Grammar Nazi tendencies.

Anyway, I could never get into the plots for Prototype, Painkiller and Borderlands.
All those games are great in terms of gameplay but the story is just boring
Thanks, if you hadn't done that I would've.

OT: Several years back I picked up Dungeon Siege 2 for cheap as I enjoyed the first alot. In truth it started out well - dropping you into a warzone, even if a linear one. But then waking up as an elven captive and being asked to get 5 bottles of dickjuice or whatever, made me quit right there. We've gone beyond that sort of quest people.
Black & White 2 is also giving me problems. It's fine in small amounts but play it for any stretch of time and you realise you're doing the same thing over and over.

Neverwinter Nights had some fun bits in. At the end when Luskan attacks is a great bit of any RPG. But I agree otherwise. The game breaks down as:
Start - clear wizard dungeon
Neverwinter - 4 different areas each with a main quest (find the magical beastie)
Act 1 finale - fight through a keep then kill the bad guy of Act 1.
Port Llast - 3/4 (can't remember) different areas each with a main quest and far longer than the Neverwinter ones.
Act 2 finale - fight your way through level after level of a massive tower to the top.
Act 3 (Uthgardt I think) - 3/4 different areas each with a main quest, still very long and now fighting shit like dragons.
Act 3 finale - honestly I cannot remember
Neverwinter REVISITED - Stop them Luskan dogs yo! (3 different areas each with a main quest, now with invulnerable golems!)
Act 4 finale - fight through and under the castle to beat up the Big Bad.

Each act was the same, just with higher level content.

Neverwinter Nights 2, on the other hand, is exponentially better. Sure it's an Obsidian game, so be prepared for cut-content and bugs. But it's still one of the best CRPGs ever made.

But
The people that were after you were right outside, and I had every gun in the GAME! I could've easily took out a reapeater and dead eyed them through a window. Or I could've told them to come inside and get me then blow them up with dynamite. It was a very stupid ending and now I don't get to play as john anymore but instead some annoying prick Jack.
The thing is, he became an outlaw again. He tried to redeem himself and failed because in the end, the federal government decided that he still had to pay for his crimes. Sure, he could have killed all of those dudes by easily tricking them or hell or he could had just run with his family but he would had still been a fugitive. The army would have kept chasing after them and that's not the life he wanted for his wife and son. So, he sacrificed himself in hopes that his son and wife wouldn't pay for his mistakes. He thought that through his act he would offer his son a chance to not follow in his footsteps. The sad thing is, he failed. He tried but ultimately failed to redeem himself, his wife died at the old age of 40 and his son, besides becoming an outlaw and suffering from depression also blames him for what he became.

In my opinion, the story, characters and themes of Red Dead Redemption is on par with any movie out there.

OT: Darksiders. I love the gameplay and the story is very interesting but the pace just ruins it for me.

Same here.

I guess in real life the desert is boring too, but then don't make a sandbox game out of it.

Resident Evil 5, right now. I don't know why I tried to get into it, 4 was supposed to be the best in the series and I couldn't get into that either. Running out of ammo frequently and having to use your knife isn't survival horror, it isn't action adventure, it's just irritating.

Assassins Creed. Wow, I get to pick-pocket people and sit on benches for an hour before getting to the good bits, then I have go do them all over again. Whoopee.

Most FF games start off a little slow, but 13 and 9 were the biggest offenders. I loved 9 though, so I bite the bullet and go through the poor pacing for my favorite FF.

A lot of Bioware RPGs suffer from this, but especially Dragon Age.

You ran out of ammo in 4 too? How did that happen? How often do you miss? I never ran out of ammo. The worst that would happen is when I'd burn all my shotgun shells. I'd just have to make due with me TMP, pistol, and grenades (which is perfectly fine). My shotgun would be back in action the next time I need it. Having pistol ammo just means I use bigger guns for now, and that's not bad at all.

Neverwinter Nights, Borderlands and a lot of the linear grind that was Dragon Age shat me off. The dwarven city and society are the best things about that game imo.

I (nearly) always play through games, otherwise i feel like i'm missing out on something.

One game i didnt finish was borderlands. The storytelling, dialog, pretty much every part of the narrative was below zero value, and while fun at first, the combat mechanics was so incredibly repetitive it was staggering.

The Darkness. I'm at the part where there are those docks and I have to go past that place with the radio and kids or whatever. But I killed everyone. Have I ruined the save?

I agree with this person.

I really wanted to enjoy Dragon Age but I just couldn't get into it. Thankfully, I discovered Mass Effect and fell in love with that.
