Yeah, the Moz is always good when you feel down. And you want to feel even more down.

I'll go with Radiohead as well. I mean, "How to Disappear Completely", "Life in a Glasshouse", "Motion Picture Soundtrack", "Let Down"(this especially); I really can't think of a cheery song by them.

Yes, i think Rapture is evenmore so. But they are a very talented band, If you ever have the chance to watch them live I suggest you do so.

Perhaps im bit to main-stream but I'de have to say the Fray. Ironicly I found them by going from this site, to halo 3 , to halo 3 Hype song, to sarcastic gamer, to a The Fray parody to How to save a life to something even more depressing. I sank so subtly into depression i could write a song about it. with a piano.

The most depressing song I can think of is Bob Marley - Don't Worry, Be Happy
If you actually listen to the lyrics you'll find out just how freakishly depressing it is.

listen to Depress Mode or Kurt Kobain's depressing grunge band. The music was so bad the lead singer killed himself.
Hahahahaha! That was awesome!! You must've thought about that for ages, it's only been said 1000 times before!!

And on that note... er, My Chemical Romance, anyone?

I would have to say if you are looking for songs that will just steal away all your hope...
Listen to the album "Control" by Pedro the Lion.

There is nothing more depressing yet amazing to me than that album. And I'm a depressing music fan...

The song "Priests and Paramedics" in particular or "Rejoice" have the most black humor sickly sad lyrics I've read.

"wouldn't it be so wonderful if everything were meaningless. But everything is so meaningful and most everything turns to shit.... Rejoice... rejoice"- thats the entire lyrics to "Rejoice". Pretty damn depressing right?

I don't know how sad the lyrics really are, but I get misty-eyed hearing "Wild World" by Cat Stevens; they played it at my aunt's funeral, the first I ever went to.
