The students were the first ones to be jerks. They went around INSPECTING PEOPLES CARS and then, when they saw the CD, they huddled around the guy's car and started praying for "God to save him" because he was gay. That comes off to me as intolerant. I would have also considered that homophobic harassment.

To be honest, and I don't mean to offend anyone, I feel sorry for the people that are force-fed the Bible since birth. I am NOT religious, but some people just seem so... obsessed or misled. Are they TOLD to be intolerant of the homosexual portion of the human population? Hmm? I don't know anything about this stuff, though, so maybe I'm uninformed.

But, yeah, if I could've participated in this justice, I would've. It's just MUSIC, though. I mean, c'mon. Doesn't anyone else see anything wrong with covering their ears with Bibles?

Ok first off i live in the south. The bible belt. Now there is this school *wont name it* but its overly religious to the point where girls must wear dresses down to shoes shirts that cover everything cept neck guys and girls cant be near each other when walking or on same side of street in campus etc. They also are only allowed to listen to music that is approved by the university if your living on campus or play it on the campus radio. An example is a friend of a friend went there to visit and he left his case of cds open in his car and they saw a yellow card *yes my friend is gay* cd in there. A whole bunch of students surronded his car untill he came back and started praying for him trying to save him etc. Now i was told this and took it upon myself to fuck with them. Now being the metal head i am and listening to about every type of metal i picked out a few good songs to play. they are *dont know how to show videos someone mind telling me*. So i had a student teacher teaching my anatomy class who went there and had heard there schedule before. So i took it upon myself to drive into campus right when there classes ended since there all in one building and proceeded to drive around the campus playing this watching them literaly cry cover there ears with bibles *which they have to have with them* doing the catholic cross across there chest etc. It brought such joy to my heart. Now before i get bashed note i do not hate most religious people just those who take it to an extreme like this. So is this as dickish as some people say or is it just funny which ive been told

I love metal and it's interesting to note that although many Christians still believe that rock and metal is the devil's work, there are also quite a few "Christian Metal" bands floating around. I listen to several.
I would say that's a dick move, but when you take your beliefs to such an extreme, how can you not expect someone to exploit your weaknesses - I certainly would (But maybe that's just my sadistic side coming through).

Yeah all those christian "core" bands completly suck ass. And a lot of core bands are trying to do the "satanic" thing that death metal did way back when. sucks being a metal head now a days since most people think core music is metal now -_-

I'm sorry, but i would run out of the building covering my ears and praying for an end to it too. I don't really like metal, and the unintelligible scream-o stuff like this just grates my ears.(i like the instrumentals, nothing else)

its funny u say religions cram it down ur throats. i wont argue there r those denominations that sort of make it their duty to do that and what not but MOST do not and the VAST majority of people who do believe in religion dont "cram it down ppls throats" as u so eloquently put it. personally i find many atheists "cramming" that GOD DOESNT EXIST AND UR A MORON for believeing in god mentality down religous ppls throats.

Okay. After getting my initial laugh out of the way, because this is a new ploy to me, my opinion on the question can emerge, but it's nothing new.

Yes, it was a dick move. The incident with your friend had nothing to do with you and for the most part the class. There may have been a few who were involved with the car praying, but again, you had no business with it. Regardless of the people-who-were-praying's intentions were, whether it was to truly "save his soul" or to spite him and piss him off, this was between him and the group of prayers.

And yes I needed to post again because editing my first post would decrease the chances of this getting read and I don't want to look like I'm covering up my first reaction and I'm not. I thought the action itself was funny and I could picture them throwing a fit and rolling on the ground in "agony" over the music.
