I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

It's to liberal and young for me; I know all the characters will be acting like brats, and the bit about [[INSERT LOVE INTEREST'S NAME HERE]] being a Bisexual pissed me off. Seriously, I've no problems with Heterosexuals or Homosexuals, but I can't stand the middle-ground; they tend to be the flukey, ultra-liberal wankers I'd happily shoot.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but I give up trying.
A medal for Captain Bigot Generalisation over here!!!!

They'll be too liberal will they? What precisely does this liberalism entail in a Romantic-Geek-Comedy?

or perhaps you're just a troll...............

OT: I damn well loved the film when I saw it at the cinema and I'm damn well going to buy it when it comes out of DVD :)

I was turned away by the advertising at first, because the trailers made it seem really awful. But after hearing a lot of good things about it, I tried to find a pirated version. It was terrible quality, but I realised that the movie is actually pretty awesome, so I went to see it in the cinema.

I've seen three times now, it's absolutely awesome - easily my favourite movie of the year.

To people who aren't sure whether they'd like it or not - or got turned off by Cera/commercials, I'd say wait for the DVD to come out, watch a rip, then buy the DVD if you like it. It's horribly advertised, but chances are good that you'll like it if you watch it. Particularly if you enjoy other Edgar Wright stuff such as Spaced/Sean of the Dead/Hot Fuzz.

How do these ex's make up the entire population of the earth world? Are they meant to be the 7 sins or something? I really hope not, it would just make it worse.
In the title "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World", "The World" is "the world" in the metaphorical sense. His life is going nowhere and getting worse, this is his fight "against the world in which he lives" to grow up and take responsibility for himself and his life.

I shouldn't have had to explain that. :\

wow, never thought someone would see it from my point of view. i reckon a lot of people are 'bi-sexual' because they think its cool and they suddenly become all up themselves. or at least in the experiences i've had with people, they just get really annoying... ultra-liberal wankers as such :p
that or they are just in it for the sex. they just don't care what the gender is, as long as they are being pleasured.

i'll be honest though, thats not going to stop me from seeing a film xD i've got to pretend that i'm not bothered about people being indecisive. what do they want, best of both? do they even see us as people or just things to be consumed? odd-unfunny-reference-to-bread

anyway, kinda-off-topic and hooray for flames and baits
Just out of curiosity but do you not believe it possible for people to not be genetically attracted to a certain gender, such as asexuality, and instead like the person simply based upon personality?

I honestly hope you don't see this is arguing, as I'm just interested in how other people think. xD

good film, certainly unique. No other will have the protagonist pulling a flaming katana from their chest while a loud voice declares "Scott has gained the power of self respect!"

Now really don't want to see that film, sounds like it's full of teeny angst.

Note that I said "Tend to", not "are".

And by liberal, I mean the non-political definition- easygoing, irresponsible, 'modern', 'alternative'. Wankers, basically.

Didn't see it because I didn't have time nor money to see something I wasn't that bothered about. Still haven't seen it. Heard mixed reviews.

Same applied to the Expendables and I don't care either way for Michael Cera. So I guess I'm in a third category

I am going to have to go with a petulant retort, and? Maybe I should have said it has a strong emo vibe or something but it just doesn't sound the least bit interesting.

...and in the two posts you've made on the topic you've expressed a complete misunderstanding of the material, followed by an age-based derision that doesn't actually fit, as reasons for not wanting to see the movie.

You're allowed to not want to see the movie. My point is that you seem to have written it off without even the basest understanding of what you've actually written off. It's fine with me if you don't want to see it. I was simply attacking the errors in your reasoning.

At the time it came out the theaters were making us pay $10 per ticket all the time, it was worth the 10 dollars, and being a bass player I really enjoyed watching Micheal Cera play the bass ( I Have been told he actually does play bass). The music was great and so was the visuals. great movie worth every penny definitely buying it on DVD/Blu Ray

I haven't seen it, but that's because it won't be released for another month here in Finland.
