Final Fantasy Will never die, it'll just get re-invented each time. although they are all THE EXACT SAME TEMPLATE. Aryan goes out into world map to hunt down and eventually destroy Uber evil dude or dudes. Funnily enough i relly enjoy this shit!! And sonic can't do 3D so stop it now. it just confuses his tiny little mind and he falls off the world, ALOT!

We all have that one video game franchise that was fun for a while but 15 installments later it has become a hellish abomination. Post the video game franchise you want to end here.

I say Pokemon. It was fun when I was 10 but 12 games later it needs to be put to bed. The cash cow has been milked dry. It is time to eliminate these annoying creatures. Metapod smoothies anyone?

I don't know if this has been done before. The search engine for the forums was broken so I just put it up here anyway.
I think they at least need to do something more inventive with the Pokémon games.Like an MMORPG or something, but the whole "Beating the 8 Gym Leaders and defeat the pokémon on the box to save the world from Team somethingorother, then beat the pókemon league before completing the pókedex and getting a congratulatory pat on the back and dying a little inside."

Anyone here for Pokémon Kart?
There is a free MMORPG Ruby and Sapphire game out there somewhere. No joke.

Mario. Sonic took a small step in the right direction with Unleashed, but I have never enjoyed a Mario game.

For the record, Pokemon as a TV series must die, but I plan on picking up Platinum version tomorrow.
Platinum looks better than Diamond and Pearl, anyway. I also am getting it. The show was good until they made the animation less grainy and changed the voices.

Oh, I know why they're doing it. But, damn, 5 is borderline insane. That's nearly one every other month. At least Madden only (dis)graces the shelves once a year.
It can be summed, I feel, rather simply:
"I say, Reginald...this multiple sequel thing seems to have worked for the movies. What say we go and try this on those new-fangled picture games."
"By jove, I think you've hit on something there!"

Sequels only exist because the 30s, 40s, 50s, and part of the 60s used up all the good ideas on the movie industry. We're out of unique...
Christ you people drive me insane. You all look back to a time where you didn't exist and act like everything good was before your time. You'd rather appreciate the past than the present. GUESS WHAT? There where probably shitloads of YOUs back then saying "Well shit man, everything good happened in the 20s. The 50s have nothing going for it."

Appreciate what you goddamn have, instead of dropping it to be mournful of the 'golden age.'

Resident Evil. "Fun" gameplay doesn't make up for god awful plot twists, ruined character personalities, and the fact that it's not even a bit scary anymore. Besides, Survival Horror is and always will belong to tank controls and fixed camera angles. This little over the shoulder trend that's been happening lately... I'd hardly call it Survival Horror.

Half-Life to be honest. I just don't like the franchise. The first one was good but the second one was terrible.

Unique ideas and concepts still exist, it's just the games industry wants to churn out its games so fast that the developer, writer or director has to create another halo clone or FF clone and it all becomes a boring pile of shit that we've all seen a million times before. if publishers gave the developers the time to make something genuinely unique then this topic wouldn't even exist.

Side note- only 3D sonic should go and eat itself to death. 2D sonic remains as fun as ever on the DS and GBA. (excluding sonic Rush adventure which just added more gimmicks and characters to the mess of sonic's drug riddled life!)

Any and all sports franchise gakes. NCAA, Madden, FIFA, etc.

Oh, and Metroid. I loved the first few games, but it's just getting dried-up and repetitive now.

BLASPHEMY. TOTAL FREAKING BLASPHEMY. Sonic Rush Adventure was FANTASTIC, second only to Sonic 3.

Corruption was awesome, not as good as the second one but considerably better than the first. i didn't really have time for the first prime game. i only played it when i heard that prime 2 was coming and i wanted to get the story straight first.

No franchise needs to die. Some could do with a change of pace (like Sonic, more 2D Sonic please you suck at 3D).

Besides these threads are just a bunch of people saying: "I don't like this game, therefore these games should not be made anymore despite the numerous people who enjoy them. No, I can't just not buy the game because that would require me to acknowledge other people's opinions."

How could you possibly create a change of pace for something like Final Fantasy, or any RPG for that matter, beyond what they've already done?

Nobody on this thread has complained about a game being rubbish without having played them.

GTA *ducks*
GTA has become a stale repetitive stamping out of the same thing with a new ethnic minority as the protagonist in recent years. San Andreas was too big. GTA 4 was too repetitive. Although GTA Chinatown Wars does look intriguing.
