I'm normally not that big of a comics fan, but I feel the pain of the posters here. Disney had kinda been ruining themselves and others recently, and I would hate to see Disney ruin Spiderman.

But to make things somewhat less depressing, just imagine an episode of Hannah Montana where The Punisher comes in and, well, punishes her. Feel better yet?

The only point of light I see here is that Disney left the CEO of Marvel in charge of all the assets. Aside from this, I don't know what Disney would want with Marvel. It doesn't suit their normal product. Unless they're monopolizing. . . shit, they are!

I don't know, I don't think it's that bad. It kinda sounds like Disney will let Marvel do their thing, but Marvel can do it better now, and the profit goes to Disney, or something like that.

Edit: I'll continue to be hopeful until we get a Marvel musical, with lots of smiling people.
I Guess you never saw the poster for the Spider-Man Musical:

and here's a link to the website: http://spidermanonbroadway.marvel.com/

I will admit the music doesn't sound half-assed.

the next kindom hearts team, mickey, wolverine, donald, and deadpool.....and some anime regect from final fantasy.....is this actually any worse? admittedly I was upset at first, bt really considering how bland marvel has been becoming, does this mean anything will really change?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
CURSE YOU DISNEY!
CURSE YOU!!!!!
Really though, why does disney have to stick it's bloody fingers into every damn thing?
I wonder how their going to butcher all the good characters to make them "family friendly."

I was very irritated at this news. I could hope for the best and say they won't mess everything up, but then I'd be lying to myself.

Son of a wookie...

What does Disney think it's doing with Marvel superheroes? It's like filling a plane full of cement mix, it just ain't gonna fly!

I know Disney did the Gargoyles series, but Marvel is just too far out of their legue, by a long shot.

This really came out of nowhere! Marvel Comics were the top dog in the comic industry, so I fail to understand the motivations for behind Marvel making such a move... I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens to the characters and their stories (although I'm more worried about the movies.)

We have to consider that DC Comics is owned by Warner Brothers, but at the same time WB doesn't have the same stigma attached to it that Disney does...
