Wolverine vs. Mickey Mouse
A Belle and Two Beasts?

This is just weird. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I don't know, I don't think it's that bad. It kinda sounds like Disney will let Marvel do their thing, but Marvel can do it better now, and the profit goes to Disney, or something like that.

Edit: I'll continue to be hopeful until we get a Marvel musical, with lots of smiling people.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Wrong publisher, but I suppose DC comics is shocked about this. On the plus side, maybe they will have some sort of crossover where Deadpool beats the crap out of Pete.
DC comics won't be shocked, they were bought out by Warner Brothers last year!
ummm DC has been owned by Warner Brothers since 1969, this is why all DC based movies and cartoons have the Warner Brothers logo on it

i am no comic fan, but that doesn't sound good. also disney should've stopped when they made the Lion king. that was the pinnacle of their portfolio

nope, not good.
actually DC (which is part of Warner Bros) was part of the Time Magazine and Warner Bros Merger that was a couple years ago.
Time Warner owns a METRIC TON of properties even among Mass Media Congolmerates
(Disney is another one of those conglomerates; it owns ABC and a bunch of other stuff, Viacom and News Corporation are other companies that exemplify Media Conglomerates as well).

I don't like the news that Marvel was bought; that means that it really isn't doing as well as all we comic book nerds think that it is, the fact that it can't resist being purchased by a giant like Disney bodes ill for anything else popular and sacred to us; If one of these Titans wants it, it can buy it. Say it wants to buy Valve or Bungee; these conglomerates could do it; they have that kind of money to simply make a brute force purchase.

Disney is just trying to compete with Time Warner by getting its own comic book company, but it obviously can't rely on its own flagship cartoon characters anymore (scary thought eh? when was the last time Disney has released an original animated movie? not Lion King 2 or Cindarella 4, but an original? I can only remember The Curse of the Black Cauldron from when i was a kid.) It has to buy ANOTHER companies original ideas and characters to rejuvenate its own dying stock. I expect to see marvel cartoons put onto the disney channel, and they will be bad. And what about that Marvel promise to make more games like Wolverine: Origins? they gave it to Raven Software (a really good company, they made Star Trek: Elite Force, The Jedi Knight games and Quake 4, I know a guy who works there as a texture designer, he's a pretty sweet mapmaker.), but will Disney override Marvel with its own destructive branding?
Disney has a reputation for enforcing its own standard upon its subsidiaries, and that standard isn't even PG, its G

Dear god, I hope that by just attaching Disney to the overall franchise that sales will plummet. The core demographic will NOT be happy about this. Damn you Disney, why must you always ruin anything good.

I think we know what must be done. We must kill Mickey Mouse and END his reign of terror, before it is to late.

For some reason I never got into comics (damn my surroundings!) as much as I wanted (reading a Storm comic made me want it, I never got any further than that sadly) but I can imagine that this is horrible news.

Um... I think everyone agrees as to how bad this news is, but...
WHY? What the hell's the point in Disney buying out Marvel?
I mean, where did this come from? I may have missed it as I periodically BSOD'ed a few times while reading it.

Walt Disney was not buried...Walt Disney is frozen beneath DisneyLand. Everyone knows that. ^^
