Yes, I suppose I sort of rushed into that statement without checking if I was right. I agree with you on that one.Irridium said:Thats not entirely true. There is a large chunk of infections that are caused by direct contact. In hospitals, people who die in surgery are usually killed because of infection from the tools.Theron Julius said:You have a very good point, but my main point in that post was that it's an open bullet wound. What I'm trying to say is that even for humans an open wound is gonna get you sicker than physical contact. And considering a Quarian's immune system, I'm not all too sure that even most of the bacteria dead would be good enough.
By the way wasn't this originally a conversation about if she would be hot or not?
When surgery is preformed, doctors try their damn hardest to make sure everything is steralized. And even then bacteria still gets through.
When you get shot with a bullet, the heat kills any bacteria around the wound.
And in the case of Mass Effect, where instead of bullets you have super-heated slugs fired so fast that may be heated by air friction alone, may have the same effect.
Hell, this entire argument started because some people brought up the "One kiss could put me in the hospital" phrase. I will concede that you guys have some very good points, but I have to say that she was prepared, it wasn't an open environment, and that she still got sick. The most important part of that is "She was prepared". In her own words "... I've minimized the risks. But I'm still nervous.".
