I don't care what people think of the music I like. But I'd rather they didn't make a fuss about it, because I'm not gonna change just because they say so. I do keep quiet about being a Pop fan on here though, I'm worried I'll get booed off the forum.

Also saying I like The Jonas Brothers tends to lead to some animosity......

I don't really care what people think of my music either, it's what i enjoy to hear so who cares if someone else doesn't like it?

I really like every type of music anyway, so it doesn't bother me if someone's playing rap, hip-hop, death metal, classical, ska, or whatever genre! it's all good! :p

I do not get mad if someone doesn't like my music but I will be disappointed because I could spend hours with them talking about the music and the groups :D

(needless to say nobody I know likes my music :C)

Stuff I quite like is:
Daft Punk
Horrorcore
Red Hot Chilipeppers
Yellowcard
Reel Big Fish
Powerman 5000

It's just occured to me as a switched songs as my Dad came home that I often change music according to who's around. I mostly listen to Metal or Rock, but if people who dont listen to metal are nearby I'll almost always switch to rock. Anyone else do anything similar?

Discuss =].
I usually do the same. My dad doesn't think that metal is music, so when is in the car with me I have to try to find songs on my CD's that aren't as heavy, like A7X or Boston or what have you.

But personally, being an athlete who also enjoys metal and is into this kind of music and not into mainstream crap like rap, etc. it gets a little annoying having every person on my football/baseball team say that my music is shit because it's "emo" or because it's just screaming when I can just as easily bash their shitty ass rap. But whatever, I stopped caring freshman year.

I don't care as long as they don't bother me about it. If they start to annoy me i throw something at them.

Hence why I would keep the avatar I now have, despite some people attempting to use it against me in arguments (though at that point, they've already lost, since they are resorting to insulting my taste in music.)
Then again your taste in music is... well... undesirable.

Im not saying you shouldn't like it, im just saying from a musical standpoint its pretty lacklustre stuff.

Do you even know what his musical taste is, or are you just trying to start a flame war, because I guarantee you will lose.

Im not ashamed of my music tastes in the slightest, hell i wear black band tshirt bands whos names you cant read half the time. The only thing that bothers me about my taste in music that ordinary people dont know the classics, seriously i know people who have never heard Iron Maiden, stuff like that confuses me.

As for changing whats playing, I never do, at home il play anything i want, if i have people over, i generally play what most people what to hear(of the music on my ipod obviously), just to keep everyone happy, ie not all my friends like Messuggah, but they all like The Prodigy, and i happen to like them both so The Prodigy gets played.

As for other peoples houses, i might plug my ipod in and stick on some heavy shit, but over all i dont care. The owner of the house usually gets to decide whats played. But change my music tastes? Never.

I usually force my music on people, because I believe I have the best taste in Music out of anyone I know or will ever meet, so I like to enlighten them about bands they should be rocking out to on a regular basis.

Enlighten me!!!

No. I fact, I like a lot of popular rock bands, but hate a lot of popular rock bands.

I dislike, not hate: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin

I hate: Pick Floyd, Fall Out Boy, Coldplay

My favorite band is Pearl Jam, btw.

Lol, I'm so paranoid about who takes a peek at the contents of my iPod. My tastes are all over the place though. I'll go from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, to Streetlight Manifesto, to Matchbox 20 (something like that). Everything's from left field in comparison to everything else. Music theory does make it hard to swallow some of the most recent pop/top 40 stuff lately. It all kinda sounds the same. :(

eh...I need new music though. It all gets boring when you can instantly recognize everything within a second. About the only genre's I'm adverse to are heavy metal and rap, so any recommendations?

I turn it down or off when others are around as I don't feel the need to be rude to them. Other than that though, I'm not ashamed of my tastes.

Nope, I use headphones.
They can't hear it anyway, why should I care if they'd like it?
