Do you feel bad for killing them?

No. You must kill them faster than they can kill you, and that means zero hesitation on your part, and if the enemy hesitates, then fire while you have the chance! Stab 'em, shoot 'em, beat 'em with a stick!

If I am completely destroying them, especially with some sort of overpowered weapon, then I feel kind of bad and might actually "apologize" to them. This definitly goess for when I am playing Infection in Halo 3 and I'm just raping the zombies. If that is happening, I would actually leave the spot that I am camping at and give them a chance to kill me, or at least make them think that they are getting close to killing me.

Oh! But killing is fun as hell! Especially the kills where you stab at their neck and let them slowly bleed out, then while they're telling you every last dark secret of theirs, you record it, then play it back to their family who I have locked in my basement infested with flies and maggots.

Oh, are we talking about online gaming?

In that case, it's just for good fun. Either you kill them or they kill you. Simple as that.

I'm not killing a person, I'm killing an in-game avatar that's nothing more than a few lines of code.

What is best in life?

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

I might be the only one who thinks this way, but have you ever felt bad because you got a kill in online mulitplayer? Or is every kill just another point for you?

It's a weird question, but I think it says something about me. I'm too much of a softy.

Of course if they are just a complete asshole, I revel in it.
Sometimes.

I put myself in the other kid's position sometimes. When it's a free-for-all that's oh-so-very-close, and I win by like 50 kills to 49 and the last kill I got was on the next highest ranked player (The 49 kill one), I kinda feel bad because I might have cost him a keyboard or a headset or something. I know people who've gotten really, like, frustrated over shit like that, and I've been there myself, but still.

i feel bad if it is an easy kill, like a guy is running toward me and I blow him out of his pants with a nuke (or something). But if they fight valiantly then they die with honor (in a video game)...I gotta get out more.

When ever I get a kill, I try to make it as satisfying as possible so, I imagine the other player freaking out and throwing his controller at the TV.

I sometimes feel guilty for killing the pedestrians in Grand Theft Auto 4.

In gaming as in war, the only kills to regret are the accidental friendly fire kills.

I revel in the oppurtunity to make other suffer as much as I can while stomping out their miserable excuse of a life, even if it just online. Given the chance I would rub their faces in poo if they were around me. Am i a bad person?

Basically the same here.
Other than that its no mercy from me, regardless of skill level. That is because called 'tough love' (without the love part) and the only way they can get better is to learn the strategies and tactics of better players and apply them to their own play style while fine tuning their reflexes for FPS's. It's basically how I learned, i kept getting snapped until i made my own style and 'matured'. (when i mean mature, i mean taking my time to get each kill, not charging for each one)

Too busy being spawn camped to feel sympathy when I get them back. After awhile I get bored and quit because killing someone over and over gets boring. I am in the Quake wars beta and it's fun for fifteen minutes but I don't play it for more than that because I don't have the same reflexes of the psychos playing that so it get's boring quick.

I prefer playing multiplayer old school with a person in the room with ya.

Yes, I have that too. Sometimes I see someone who's obviously new to the game and still trying to figure things out, or who keeps walking into the same trap or trick that I used to fall for myself before, and then I kind of feel bad about punishing him for his inexperience. I usually still make the kill though, they'd most likely do the same to me if the roles were reversed. And as penance I try to help new players by giving them pointers and explaining things they don't understand yet. (if they have a mic and are the type of people who can distinguish between criticism/mockery and friendly advice, which is actually pretty rare on Xbox LIVE..)

Depends on the game and the situation. In CoD and Halo, which I have to say I play alot and 'own' at the multiplayer, its simply ravaging through every building, corridor and street, invincibly destroying everything with Giant Miniguns and so forth, not caring for any feeble 12 year old begging for mercy as I relentlessly stab him over and over.

However, in a game not focused completely around mindless killing, I do sometimes give a kill some thought.

For some reason, I always feel bad for killing anyone in Garrys mod...

I feel great killing in any online game, because out there, it's kill or be killed (duh)........but I usually feel bad killing someone who is bad at the game....like really bad, and has no kills. I actually might play easy on them....if i'm in a good mood :p
