This happens to me every time I play Company of Heroes, and yet I still play it... Why??

Anyone else feel this way?

I feel really bad when they die in CoH as well.

But strangely no other RTS.

Maybe it has to do with the fact they are human.

Not rly.

The most I go is : "Upsy" if it`s my fault or "You @$%$^&$%%&%$$#@ can`t kill shit" if they lose a fight.

Nah, I frequently use those faceless soldiers as cannon fodder. In most RTS games (Warcraft 3 and Dawn of War particularly) I like using the basic troops as a squishy bloody shield for my more effective units. They will either absorb the hits otherwise directed at my better troops, or be allowed to make unchallenged attacks on the other player. Pure genocidal genius! Muhahahahaha

In Dawn of War 2 I know I will feel bad when my troops die as I did in CoH when I lost a sniper. Also some times in Evil Genius when a bunch of my minions get slaughtered.

I do feel bad, especially when they get flanked by an overwhelming enemy force and they continue to fight back as they're told against all odds...

Well, Since i play Endwar, i actually care if my people die, and will often guard the transport that helps them evacuate. This is mostly because they get stronger when they survive more missions, and when they die they get replaced by a low-ranked replacement.

Oh yes.

Like it's nobody's business.

I remember AOE 2 where I would play so conservatively, essentially attempting to win deathmatches by waiting it out. A strategy that never really pulled through for me.

To this day, I am terrible at RTS games because of an unwillingness on my part to risk defeat/loss of troops by attacking someone. I'd make a great military commander, no?

YES!!! It's why I never got very good at RTSs.

On Total Annihilation my first attack would always be with 30-50 Pee-Wees. Most would die and I'd pull them back when there were a few left. I would treasure the survivors and send them on raids as veterans (you got a little badge with 5 kills, didn't do anything though!)

How cute is this:

ZERG RUSH KEKEKE!! But no, seriously, I normally feel no connection, I just get annoyed when they die because it means more minerals. I will admit to being sad when my workers die in Starcraft. The Protoss Probes are just kind of cute.

The only minions I regret the deaths of are the big super weapons like the Czar in supreme commander.

Same thing. And it isn't a rush if you don't shout KEKEKE. Then it's jsut a mob. And it never works.

Up the Guard, and the Terrans! It makes me sad every time a little pixellated human dies under my command.
