Is the text size during the demo reflective of the game as a whole?
Yes! and it sucks. I hate that developers all think we have 70 inch plasma tv's lying around. Origins had that problem too as well though for me.

PS- hey Captcha, whats a flavonoid? sounds yummy.

The game is great, the only reason people are complaining is because

1- you're not able to choose your race. Boo hoo it was barely ever mentioned

2- You're not the character from the previous title. I think this is a good thing, that story is over and you're onto another persons tale. Which is an excellent idea, it's not so much a sequel now as it is a telling of a story that happened in the same universe. (I didn't beat the game so don't go telling me something happens and then you find out that this is that bla bla bla)

The only complaint I can muster is the bullshit behind the game, but that has nothing to do with the game so it's awesome

It felt like there was a great pc game inside, however it had been consoled up a bit too much..
So I'd say it was okay not great just okay, unlike the first which was a power house of an epic(except the ending) which I have played for 200 hours(about 7 days) according to steam.

But then again DA:O is nothing compared to Baldurs Gate 2 + exp so maybe its just bioware going downhill I don't know, what I do know is that DA2 did not have the DND feel to it which DA:O at least had.

Really enjoyable. It's not as good as Origins when it first came out(personal opinion), but it's really easy to enjoy.

Ya i played the 1ste 26 h the 2de 24 h the 3rd 28h and all during weekends time, clearly u have not been a gamer long!So get u'r facts straight, and by the way i'm at the top of my class!
First off I don't pretend to know or care how you do in school, that's none of my business, but if you're going to post on this forum a minimum level of proficiency in English is expected, and you're only hurting yourself with posts that fall below the threshold of basic English skills.

Here are some friendly tips (I'm not trying to be an ass here, I don't suppose you'd have made that post if you knew the correct way to write it, so I'm trying to help you):

Ya i played the 1ste 26 h the 2de 24 h the 3rd 28h and all during weekends time, clearly u have not been a gamer long!So get u'r facts straight, and by the way i'm at the top of my class!

1.) It's "Yeah" not "Ya"
2.) It's "I" not "i"
3.) It's "1st" not "1ste"
4.) It's "2nd" not "2de"
5.) "during weekends time" is incorrect "during the weekend" is the correct wording
6.) "long! So" should be "long! So"
7.) "u'r" should be "your" (This was actually multiple mistakes, you first chose "You're" instead of the correct "your" and then made the second mistake of changing that incorrect choice to "u'r"
8.) "straight, and" should be "straight, and"
9.) It's "I'm" not "i'm"

Secondly you said you played this all during the "weekends time" and that you played about 80 hours (from adding up your playthrough times) that means you played 80 hours in two days, when there are only 24 hours in a day, so in the same post as telling me to get my facts straight, you claim you did something that literally defies the laws of physics.

I'm not trying to be rude here, but be careful that when you post you observe a respectable level of coherency and not lie to people like you just did (as evidenced by you claiming to have played 80 hours in two days). People will not respect you if you don't make legible posts and lie to them.

Lastly, you said you were the top of your class, I have no right to say that's false or attack that statement, but if you're telling the truth and are the top of your class and are simply a young age, I feel it is only responsible to warn you that mature content is often posted to these forums, and you may want to find another online discussion board. Again I have no way of knowing your age or anything, but I'm letting you know just in case.

It's crap, and anyone who is agreeing in this dumbing down of not oly RPG elements but production value (reusing same dungeon many times in a AAA game?!) is a blight on gaming industry.

Also, this has probably the worst writing in any of bioware games, same goes for "choices" adn shitty quests.

I love how the internetz vocal minorities work. 100 people convince themsleves it sucks so it must be true.Who cares wbout the other hundreds of thousands that are freaking enjoying the game and loving it. Btw why would you rush to end a game like this in 20-25 hours? Main quests in Bioware and Bethesda games are just an excuse to explore a beautiful world with crazy and entertaining side quests. Really do yourself a favor and don't ever play games like this if you don't understand what an c<rpg should do and does.

I've put in about fifty hours since it came out. (I walk, I RP in my mind.. Somehow.) And it is still great, gonna play some more after this eddie murphy movie on the tele in three min.

Characters are great, story is great, setting is great, gameplay is great, I love almost all of it!

people are actually playing that Facebook game Dragon Age Legends..It has more RPG elements then DA2 does.Still DA2 is a fun game Ive played through it twice but there was really little difference between the two..other then you lose or keep certain companions.Over all your actions have little effect on the story as a whole.

It's good, just not as RPG-ey as the last one.
This is the same thing that happened to Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2, the only difference is that because Origins was much more RPG-ey than Mass Effect 1 was, people are bitching a lot more at the change in direction.
It is still a good game.
Interested in what you mean by less RPG-ey? Its pretty uch the same except for not being able to change companions armor, to which i reply thusly :
A lot of people argue that the story isn't as good, there isn't as much micromanagement, and overall, the game doesn't have as much RPG elements as the predecessor.
Which is a pretty bullshit claim.

My friend seems to like it, he loves the dragon age series. He pre-ordered the damn thing and payed a shit load (and got and will be getting more dlc) so I sure hope he likes it, otherwise that's a waste of a lot of money.

I finished a very thorough 56 hour playthrough yesterday. Loved it. My complaints are mostly minor.

My big issues:
-Enemies spawning during combat. It's more of a big deal early in the game when you have fewer talents to work with (and therefore you're forced to me more conservative about your ability usage, lest some Rogue Assassin joins the fight against you in the next wave and you're waiting for your ability to cool down). By early-mid or mid-game, this isn't much of an issue anymore.

-Re-used environments. This is just a bummer.

I wasn't crazy about the ending as far as the story goes, but the fights in that part were more than enough to make up for it.

I loved the combat makeover. The talent trees allow for more variability for multiple playthroughs than Origins did (except for mages, maybe). The side quests, abundant as they were, I thought were interesting for the most part. I'd say Dragon Age 2 is a success. I enjoyed it more than Origins (a game that I've played eight times and still am nowhere near sick of).

working on my second playthrough, and tbh, between dao, awakenings, and da2, they're all about the same amount of fun :) i guess people were expecting something to be better than the 1st game, and the changes, worked great for the way it's designed, so i don't see what people complain about. ofcourse for each game i have my own complaint's (minor stuff, so i won't even mention them) and they're definately not enough to make the game any less enjoyable :)
