Does anyone play COD properly?

My mate was playing COD:BLOPS in Demolition, and his team was just focusing on kills, rather than even try to plant the bomb.

At one point, one teammate was lying next to his care package, he just stayed there for like a minute, didn't try to claim it. My friend went and nicked it, at which point the guy in question sent him a voice message, roughly along the lines of " Fuck you, get your own fucking care packages, and stop planting the bomb we're trying to lose this round so we can play again." (I removed about 3/4 of the swearing from that.)

So I ask, does anyone actually play COD these days to enjoy the game? Or is it all just kill-whoring and point farming crybabies now?

Also, feel free to share your own stories of annoying/pathetic players online.

Nope. no one does. Comes with the territory in CoD-verse. Thats the way it is now, thats the way its always been and thats the way it shall remain.

Its sort of like having a desire for intellectual stimulation and finding yourself in a preschool.

I share your pain. if you want kills, play deathmatch, cause in sabotage, you have to blow up the bomb site. Doing anything else means you're doing it WRONG! Often I am the only one going for the objective. Sometimes its just people dont want to be the objective goer, but willing to win, but too often than not, they are just idiots.

Eh, you don't notice it so much if you play TDM. I play domination though, and yeah, it is annoying.

This is why I'm so looking forward to BF3; because I'm so utterly sick of CoD.

'Properly' is in the eye of the beholder. It's just a problem with multiplayer. Maybe if you could filter playstyle everyone would be happier.

Yeah I only play Search and Destroy because of this. It's pretty much the only way to get a good objective based game.

Well, I wouldn't say that a kill whore isn't trying to enjoy the game. Maybe they just want to be a slayer, and allow their team mates to plant the bomb?

Even if that is the case, I'd still recommend that person to play TDM instead. I'm the kind of person who's going to throw myself onto the bomb, because I want to win, and would urge my team mates to do so as well.

And by the way, if I were your friend I would have sent them a message back saying, "Fuck you, you obviously didn't want it, and I'm going to plant the bomb because I want to win, jackass," and then block them.

This could easily be solved by making the objectives worth a lot more points and experience.

I play tdm because I can't be bothered with objectives when i play cod normally. There is a rare occasion I need to play something that I need to get the pro perk (im looking at you ninja pro...)

Not in this instance it's not.

If all you want to do is shoot people, play Deathmatch, or Team Deathmatch. That's what they're there for.

If you play a mode like Demolition, you are fully, justifiably expected to play with the intent of seeing your bomb reach its destination and explode.

If you aren't playing that way, then you are playing the wrong way.

Well, I don't play COD that frequently, but goofing around with your mates playing wrongly can be fun at times.

I play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory with my mates a lot, but when there are few of us in the server, we just goof around without doing the actual objectives of the game, until a couple more people enter the server, then we start playing properly, but we never insult strangers that way, we insult each other at times, but that's how friends are right?, we never throw f*bombs to the first stranger that steps into our server... unless it's trying to troll us, wich gets a deserved ban from our server.

I find that a difficult argument to accept. The word properly is highly subjective, but I see it as "Playing the mode correctly."

I would have fun in say, CTF, by actually focusing on getting the flag and using strategy. But when 90% of the players in the room just sit by their flags and wait for easy targets, that just seems sad, and defeats the purpose of the game.

That's so amazingly wrong. Having fun doesn't mean you're doing anything right. You're just a failure that's dead set on being happy about it >.>
