Well given that your metabolism can change with various factors I would say the answer would be yes and no.
I know when I was on amphetamine for a year, it sent my metabolism into overdrive. I continued eating the same as I had before (perhaps just a little less, but not enough to make a difference) and I ended up dropping 95 lbs in that year.
Once I was off of it, I went into a massive slow down phase from that being one ***** of a moneky to get off your back, and my metabolisim slowed to match. I ended up eating even less food for fear of packing on weight, but I still ended up adding about 35lbs.
Now that I am in a more balanced diet and exercise rotation, my metabolism is still a little bit sluggish, but ive dropped another 20lbs. So, i guess what im saying is, everyone has that potential and will see its result at one time or another in their life.
