Eh, it all depends on how close to matter you are. I mean, some people find eating meat a cruel and horrible thing, but others don't think it's that bad as long as the animal doesn't suffer too much. Having animals do silly and demeaning things has been considered entertaining since the first circuses rolled into town. These people probably figured it wasn't such a big deal, didn't think that anyone would be offended by it. It's not like they cooked it or had it in a knife fight. It's like a dead baby joke. Some people find them hilarious, but the day you tell one in front of a woman who's lost a kid, you're damn.

I guess I should clarify, I'm not really in support of the kangaroo boxing, but I'm not against it either. I'll stay neutral because it isn't my national animal and I wasn't there.

¬_¬ And this is why people suck.

No offence, but (yes I realise how pointless saying that is) but only in Texas......

Bah, I wish the kangaroo had kicked both those bastards. Hard.

depending on how hard the guy hits the kangaroo is no more abuse than other animal entretainment shows and i guess the leash is for in case the kangaroo goes crazy and tries to attack the audience.

I'm a native-born Texan, and... I find this disgusting too.
The guy should be punished by being tied to a post near an irate kangaroo. Or, if you can't convince a real 'roo to do it, build a Mythbusters-style Kangaroo Leg Simulator to bash his face in.

Or maybe some people don't think in cartoon logic. Mustache and sombrero? Are you five?
So you thought of the second one, then?

The problem is I really don't think of either of those stereotypes unless I'm watching TV at the same time. Living in Texas, I see many central American people, including Mexicans. I see them everywhere from street corners to business heads on a regular basis. The only time I see sombreros in real life is on the heads of tourists. I suppose if I had to stereotype the Mexicans I see on a regular basis, I would say more of a ranch hand than anything simply because when I go to through the country, I mostly see ranch hands as being Mexican, but even that's unfair as my uncle is a ranch hand and is decidedly not Mexican.
Do you understand my point, though?
The stereotype is there. You can fight it all you want, but you wont change it.
The absurdities that exist can't be changed by getting offended by them.
Words are powerful, but you can't change everything with them.

Gee, I did not know you could read minds. And no, you asked for the first thing that popped in our heads when you said that word. Brown Skin was the first thing that popped into his head and that is what he wrote.

Their is only two minutes between your post and his response. That's about the right response time since he has to respond to the notification, find your post and then quote it and type his.

And now you are making sterotypes about us, thinking that we are high and mighty and will do anything to protect our own arguements. No, when he thought "Mexican", Brown Skin was the first thing he thought of. Don't make illogical solutions just because you didn't get the response you wanted.
I asked for an image. As in, a picture of a person who fits that simple description.
It's my fault for not wording it better.
But that isn't how it should be! Besides, I have no other crusades in my miserable little life, I might as well fight for something...

QQ please, Australia.

You wont put gloves on a Kangaroo, but you will put a collar around a dogs neck, or tie one up outside.

same shit, different animal. QQ.

They got rid of the act. That's good enough for me.

I'd actually like to see this incident die before it ends up giving PETA any sort of false credibility.

*sigh* wake up children. do you also want to ban petting zoos, sea world or owning pets? there is nothing here different from making a dog sit, or roll over.

Animal cruelty in general makes me ill. This isn't funny in the slightest. Shame the kangaroo didn't uppercut the fucker right in the sack.

This just goes to show that certain Americans living in Texas are a bunch of cruel, gun-totting idiots. Whos idea was it to make a kangaroo kick-box? What's next, a dancing bear? What the fuck.
