For the record I wasn't attacking the people of Texas. I'm saying that there are some questionable laws in Texas. That's all, the same can be said of any state it's just this particular incident really doesn't have a law that prevents it or can fine the person behind it even though it's quite clear that the animal is being abused inside the ring to many witnesses. Again, if the kangaroo was not restrained I'd have no qualms with this and I'm sure no one else would have either.

That's really all I had to say, I never once meant to attack the Texan people. That one bit about the lack of good things was a joke.
Then why bring Texas up at all? If this had happened in California, would you have pointed out that it was California? Probably not. But because it's Texas, it's worth mentioning.
Fair enough, I'll look into the states that allow this to happen and if I find even one state other than Texas. I will rescind my previous comment.
They apparently do that same show all across America.
And apparently it's legal in Australia as well. I rescind my previous comment.

Am I sicken by this? No.

I'm filing this away in my brain, right next to those nuts jobs that jump on crocodilians and wrestle with them. Entertaining? Possibly, I would have to go see a show and report back to you. Stupid, yes, these are dangerous wild animals and one could get very badly hurt.

Is this cruel? Possibly. Was the roo hurt during the match or was it just a performance? Was the roo treated badly afterward or was it fed and taken care of? Well, I would need to both watch and talk to the people who run the show before making a ruling on that.

Once again, what do you people actually have against Texas? This is always what happens whenever anything happens in Texas. What do you actually think of Texans?

Even though this was sponsored by Kraft foods? Even though the group that does this show is Argentinean? Even though they also do this show all over the U.S.? Texas seems like the kind of place where this happens. You think Texans are a bunch of unfeeling hicks? That's not very nice.

I'm not Australian (from the USA) and I think this is still wrong, taking a national symbol and degrading it isn't something you do (well it isn't something you do to people who arnt Nazis)(and I dont really care about animal rights its more of a national pride thing)

"It's all you have to do."
You win a cookie if you know what that references.

Also, that is just so wrong.

Yeah... what is the big Texas stereotype anyway? Texas is a huge state... not every part is full of redneck bull riders.

Excuse me as I rant for a sec. As someone born and raised in the south eastern, USA, I have gotten my fair share of rude comments from people who don't understand that there are many different people here. No, I'm not Christian. No, I'm not republican and no I have never been deer huntin'. We are not automatically racist or stupid. There are a fairly equal number of idiots everywhere I've been in and out of the US and it irks me when people are surprised that I can speak in complete sentences because I was born in Georgia.

Sorry about that. I do understand that we have some, unfortunately loud, morons down here but I think everyone has a sensitive spot and this is one of mine.

The simple fact they're willing to do that to any animal, national symbol or otherwise, is horrific. I'm glad the poll is currently at 75% saying it should be banned from being done.
What the fuck are the other 25% thinking? They better all be undecided (which is a pretty unsettling answer itself).

If someone did that to a bald eagle (from US, obviously), I'd fucking kill the bastard. Animals (much less national emblem-related animals) are not punching bags.

Because, this stereotype is very annoying and I hate having it labeled on my state all the time. Especially since it's not even true. Also you did say Texans explicitly. There are dumb everyones. It really doesn't matter what part of the world you're from, it's no smarter or dumber than Texas.

They shouldn't do it because its barbaric, couldn't care less about any nationalist sentiment that Kangaroos provoke though, that's not important.

They tried to do something "cute". They had no intention of hurting the animal, I'm sure. Precautions and other steps where probably taken to insure it's safety.

However, no matter the reasoning or the steps taken, they failed miserably to be "cute. In fact they only came off as cruel, disrespectful, and plain stupid.

Hopefully, this bites them hard enough on their asses that they will never thy a stunt like this again.

Would you be happy if this was being done to the national emblem of your country? It's damn revolting for any Australian. Please let everyone know that this is no way to treat any animal, let alone a national symbol. Excuse me i have to go vomit.

They have a poll on the site.
I'm angry because its a live animal. I don't care that it is a kangaroo specifically.

And I thought Australia's animal was the Kiwi.
