I hate that too. I don't like seeing that I have 200 or so saves on a game file that I haven't finished...FinalGamer said:In Mass Effect I went for long periods without saving, and this kinda crap happened because I turned the autosave off.
Why?
Because I REALLY hate games that tell me how many times I saved, because then it makes me look rather noobish.
So one time I was spending two hours exploring a few planets, and on the third a Thresher Maw rapes me.
.....didn't play Mass Effect for a week.
I finished the game and then realized that I hadn't saved and btw I just pressed start again instead of saving... so I guess I'm lowered from Unlucky guy to Idiot.DracoSuave said:Circus Ascendant said:Are you telling me you never once paused the game and went to the menu during that bit? Or that the game lets you continue from that very room. The same call for BS goes to 'veterans' of Metal Gear Solid anything. The end says 'Continue' or 'Exit' for a reason, duckies.
No sympathy for not hitting Continue.
Makes you look rather noobish to who? I've never had a friend come over and say "Hah, look at your game with 100 saves! You should turn autosave off so you can regret it later, you noob!"FinalGamer said:Because I REALLY hate games that tell me how many times I saved, because then it makes me look rather noobish.
Boy did I fall for that one. And you'd think there was an auto-save feature in place when they kept Loading/Saving with every new area you went in but nope, that sure proved me wrong. =/zauxz said:Deus ex 1.

Anyway, I went through an entire planet in KotOR without saving once, only to die to the Krayt Dragon because I didn't talk to the guy outside the cave and thought I could kick its arse. My last autosave was when I stepped out of the port for the first time.
And then when I finally got there again, I couldn't figure out what to do with the Bantha Fodder so I looked it up, and found a page where they constantly refer to the player as Revan, which ruined the entire game.
