Don't Write Kinect Off So Early

All motion controls arent shitty. I remember reading an article on the move about the devs of Socom 4 playing a team deathmatch, contollers vs moves. The devs using the move dominated. I'll try to find and post the link. If Sony is right and the move can pick up movements in 3D space as well as being ultra responsive I'll pick it up.

I don't think kinect is beign writte off. It will obviously do very well for the younger owner of xbox 360s.

What is beign written off is the PS Move, at least kinect is different to the Wii, with having no controllers and all movement being tracked by cameras. PS Move is a shameless and blatent copy.

I'd say that probably 90 percent of the gaming community doesn't care about Kinect, and Microsoft's "press conference" at E3 proves that they don't care about us or our money.

They would have to drop the price by 130 dollars to make me consider it. Why would I pay ten times as much as an Eye Toy for practically the same thing.

Also, why would I want to grab invisible guns and steering wheels when the xbox 360 controller fits to my hands so well?

There, that is why I have written off Kinect as a very very very very expensive joke.

-No games
-It does nothing new
-Makes people look like retards
-It's turned Joy Ride (Free XBLA game) into a retail version
-It's an Eyetoy

So I guess Fable 3 and Gears of war 3 (which have both been confirmed to have kinect compatibility) don't count as games any more despite the previous games having sold millions of copies worldwide, hmmm?

It'll be great for my wife who isn't a big gamer, as well as most of our friends, my parents, my sisters, and my nieces and nephews! Plus it look like fun to play with people, which has been confirmed by every preview I've read on it saying how it's fun to play.

Every preview I've read says contrary to the BS he said in the comic anyways.
So who am I going to believe? Some guy who never used Kinect and who is looking to make laughs on a sub-par web comic, or people (you know: real journalists) who have actually played it?

Hmm. Tough choice.

if the wii turned into a cesspool of shovelware, what makes you think this will be any different? unless you can play all genres with kinect it will ONLY be a shovelware crapfest. i can say this tv will scratch your ass with a robotic claw from space but will that happen? hell no. a niche gimmick never works.

The Wii does indeed have a bunch of shovel-ware. It also has excellent games.
The 360 and the PS3 aren't immune to crappy games because they are 'hardcore'. Have you seen XBLA and the Indie Game markets? Are you trying to tell me that many of those aren't shovel-ware?

Kinect has great possibilities, and I'm looking forward to them.
And, again, every preview I've read on it (About 5 or 6 of them), says that it's fun to play. Sure it's different and even takes some getting used to, but it fun! And that, to me, is the important part. My wife will enjoy it, our non-gamer friends will enjoy it, my nieces and nephews will enjoy it, heck even my mom will probably enjoy it! That's what I want it for, and that's what it's made for.
