Dragon Age II Review

Why can't there be a single person in these damn games that talks like a normal person? Does it always have to be this "haha, I'm so witty" tone? All this talk about classic and "modern" or "streamlined" is one thing, but the dialog is SOO bad. Why do people not notice?

God dammit, the utter fanwank over Planescape: Torment begins anew. Okay guys, we know, PS:T was a damn good game, and a classic. But do we REALLY need to keep singing its praises in opposition to every single new RPG? Every RPG player worth his salt knows that game is the best, or at least, has had a hundred raging RPG fans (who might not have even experienced the game) slamming that view down his throat if he dares express his opinion that he likes modern RPGs.

As for the review... I'll wait until I've played it, I guess. I've heard good things and bad things, so yeah. Hope it wasn't a bad preorder.

i want an INTERACTIVE immersive experience that puts me into the protagonist's shoes and allows me to feel the story by interacting with it.

If someone likes modern RPGs more than the classics, that is his bussiness. I don't care. Everybody has his own taste. But if someone says that the game that is the top of the tops is worse, because it "looks like that", and he haven't even played this game, then he has to be informed that what he's saying is BS.

And I think that Aliens 4 is better than Alien 1, despite that I haven't even seen Alien 1, but I have seen some screens that looked worse than Alien 4.

"At Least until Skyrim comes out" this made me chuckle, i feel sorry for BioWare, there releasing two great RPG's this year in ME3 and DA2 and both will be overshadowed by the Goliath that is TES this is an opinion after all many people wont agree but TES is one of thoughs titles that eats all competition in its path even if the competition in a much tighter and sometimes better game. don't flame me saying CoD always does better, different genre so not comparable

fair enough I think its perfectly fine to judge a game before you purchase it, as long as you've actually done research (looked at screenshots read reviws etc) I don't want to hand money to a company just so I can see if the games any good, you honestly think if the planescape formula was still amazing and popular developers would be making anyting else? I mean look at the all the generic shooters thanks to the success and popularity of COD and Halo, theres a reason those sort of trends die out...

The game was already released in my country yesterday.....and it sold out in a matter of hours!

Good thing i preordered them!

But i have to say.....it's surprisingly short.

Yes, I sorta endurance run the whole game in one setting yesterday,according to the timestamp on my last checkpoint just before the final fight,I spent 15 hours,23 minutes and 47 seconds playing.

For a RPG, ya, that is pretty short.

For a modern day game, that is anything, but.

Plus, keep in mind the replay value Dragon Age 2 has. A lot of people would replay Mass Effect over and over again just to explore all of the options the game had. I know one person who literally played Mass Effect 2 from start to finish just because she wanted to see what would happen if she made the wrong choices on the way to the final fight.

I have the Signature Edition reserved and payed for. And I want to get it. But it's finals week, and if I get it now, I will surely fail all of my tests. It's bad enough I bought Pokemon White. So this is my present Thursday afternoon when school lets out.
